Why the senator’s brand of foreign policy is dangerous. The Republican Party is divided on foreign policy. There are “interventionists” like John McCain and Lindsey Graham who want America to more aggressively wage war—either directly or via proxies—in Iraq, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Ukraine, and beyond. And there are “isolationists” like Rand Paul who worry that if America tries to fix the world’s problems through the barrel of a gun, we’ll become a bankrupt empire rather than a prosperous republic. Then there’s Ted Cruz, who unites both factions by embodying the worst of each. Take Cruz’s position on ISIS. Like McCain...

GOP legislators want President Barack Obama to explain his planned amnesty for illegal immigrants before Americans vote on Nov. 4. “Rather than attempt to hide these actions from the American people until after the midterm elections, Americans should be given the chance to come to their own conclusions… [so] they can then exercise their constitutional right to petition the federal government and let you know their opinions,” said the Sept. 20 letter from 22 GOP legislators. Obama announced in June that he would reduce enforcement of immigration law by the end of summer. He made the statement after GOP leaders...

Alex Salmond’s independence blueprint aims to attract thousands more immigrants, who could use Scotland as a back door to England. The Scottish National Party say they would ’celebrate’ more people arriving from overseas, reversing what they claim is years of ’depopulation’. Mr Salmond says Scotland needs an extra 24,000 immigrants a year to fill jobs and bankroll the welfare system for ageing Scots, but without tough border controls many could use it as an easy route into England and Wales.

Orwellian fun via RCP. You trust a guy who openly admits his only loyalty is to the immigrant community to do what’s best for the country at large, don’t you? The fireworks come in the last minute although I’ll be candid and confess I don’t really understand what the point of disagreement is. Hannity says we should secure the border; Gutierrez replies that securing the border won’t stop ISIS operatives, who are more likely to enter the U.S. through airports than by sneaking across from Mexico. (Jihadis with British or, of course, American passports wouldn’t even need visas.) Could be,...

Who is telling the Centers for Disease Control to stand down on illegal immigration? Making certain that nefarious diseases do not enter our country should be integral to the workings of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). For logic would suggest that to control a disease, one must control its movement or introduction. When illegal immigrants flow into the United States, the CDC cannot do their job. For this reason alone, the CDC should be protesting that which is transpiring regarding illegal immigration. They should be demanding a secure border. The apparent conclusion is that this agency has been politicized....

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)MISSION, Texas -- Authorities prepare to use “whatever force is necessary” to defend international bridges between Texas and Mexico from U.S. based militia groups. The preparations by Texas law enforcement agencies are in response to recently discovered plans by militia groups to attempt closing several international bridges. The militia groups' plans are intended to be protests against the federal government's failure to secure the border between the U.S. and Mexico. The plans call for militia groups to begin blocking traffic on an undisclosed number of international bridges in the Rio Grande Valley on Sept. 20th, 2014. “We will not allow...

Children across the country being hospitalized with the 'open border flu' The rarely-seen Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68), which has been sending children to emergency rooms in several mid-western states, has now made its way to the East Coast, as confirmed cases in Connecticut and New York have been reported in the last few days. (VIDEO-AT-LINK)Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. fired back at Texas Senator Ted Cruz for remarks he made over the weekend about his borough. During a speech in Dallas Saturday, Cruz said he was tired of northern senators like Charles Schumer lecturing him on border security. He then added, "I understand that Manhattan is very concerned with their security with the Bronx, but it's a little bit different on 2,000 miles of the Rio Grande." Diaz Jr. responded, "This is unbecoming of him as a U.S. Senator, you know, who wants to be President of the United States—which, last I checked,...

With each trip to an early primary state, potential 2016 Republican candidates are defining the issues and their own experience in ways that will bolster their presidential prospects. Pundits call this sort of activity “creating a narrative,” but whatever you call it, it can provide insight into the candidates’ self-image and what they think the primary electorate will want in a nominee. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), in an Iowa visit, sought to define five conservative victories: “Stopping the gun legislation that followed the Newtown shooting;” “stopping a bill reforming the International Monetary Fund that would have put more taxpayer money...

The latest outbreak is thought to have begun in Guinea, but Liberia and Sierra Leone are currently facing the highest frequency of new cases. The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday the spread of the virus was a global health emergency.

In the 1930’s and 1940’s the German Nazi Party coined the phrase “Lebensraum” to describe their doctrine that the German people needed more room to expand and grow. They needed more room in which to work and live. In the German language they needed more "raum tzu arbeit und leben". Hence the term "Lebensraum" came to be used to describe their yearnings for world-wide domination. They believed it was their eventual destiny to re-populate the lands of other countries around them, especially those in eastern Europe and Russia. In practice however they really weren’t too picky about whose country they...

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)The father of Jordan Davis is turning his attention to the crisis on the border where thousands of children who are showing up without their parents are being detained. Since his son's death, Ron Davis, has been working the U.S. Human Rights Network. Davis left Monday to attend human rights tribunals in New Mexico and Arizona along with members of this group. "We are going to cross the border and we are going to let them know what their human rights are and we are going to advocate for them," said Davis. Davis, who lost his own son to gun...

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)Jim Gilchrist — one of the founders of the Minutemen Project — said he’s reaching out across America to recruit at least 3,500 volunteers who will go to the border to patrol and cover the “porous areas” between San Diego and Brownsville, Texas. The campaign is called “Operation Normandy,” and it’s set for May 1, 2015, Raw Story reported. “If you are familiar with the Normandy invasion of France in 1944, then you have an idea how large and logistically complicated this event will be,” Mr. Gilchrist said, Raw Story reported. “However, there is one difference. We are not going...

Howdy everyone!! We're loading up the FReepercampmobile today and will be departing for Texas this afternoon. God willing, we will arrive McAllen Texas sometime Thursday night and will plant our flag at our border encampment on the American bank of the Rio Grande River!! We had planned this expedition several weeks ago and were intending to urge Governor Perry to call out the Texas Guard and or Texas militia units at his disposal and also to learn first hand what's happening at the border and to protest the government's lawless actions there. The president will not secure the border, will...

Texas Rep. Joaquín Castro on Monday said Gov. Rick Perry is “militarizing our border” with his reported decision to deploy state National Guard troops there. “We should be sending the Red Cross to the border not the National Guard to deal with this humanitarian crisis,” the Democratic congressman said in an email. “The children fleeing violence in Central America are seeking out border patrol agents. They are not trying to evade them. Why send soldiers to confront these kids?” Militarizing our border is the wrong response to the arrival of children,” Castro continued. “I remain hopeful that our state can...

This is a chilling interview with Retired Border Patrol Officer Zach Taylor about the surge of illegals coming across the U.S. border right now. If you haven't watched the interview, read this transcript: My name is Zach Taylor. I'm a retired Border Patrol officer. My main job was understanding and having intelligence capabilities about drug smuggling across the U.S. border and human smuggling across the U.S. border to bring contraband and people into the United States. That's what I did for twenty-six years. National security is a component of the immigration laws and the reason that immigration officers exist. Because...
