The United States is helping Chile build a major solar power plant in the Atacama Desert, US President Barack Obama said. In his meeting with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, Obama said the 141-megawatt plant would "help meet their energy needs." The 230 million dollars in backing will come from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a US government arm that mobilizes private capital for development projects. Bachelet noted strong economic ties with the United States through a 10-year-old free trade agreement. Chile has further strong trade programmes with California and Massachusetts. Obama saluted Chile as a "model of democracy in...

In case you missed the live feed earlier, the President Obama took time today to hold a reception in honor of LGBT Pride Month at the White House. The President spoke of how much has changed since this time last year, touting his administration’s achievements in the area of LGBT rights. The President also took time to bid farewell to the White House Pastry Chef, Bill Yosses, who is gay and leaving the White House after 7 years. The President marveled at his baking prowess, wondering if perhaps he put crack in their pies, a notion that First Lady Michelle...

I just couldn't sleep after reading the articles on the Cochran campaign. As I lay down to TRY to sleep, the thought came to me: We need a good house-cleaning at the RNC good ol' boys club. Who better than Sarah Palin? Reince Priebus should resign after this fiasco, along with EVERY SINGLE SENATOR who helped Thad Cochran with his run-off campaign. I know THAT won't happen, but if ANY of them put up money for this, then they are culpable, as well. I wrote a letter to Preibus last week. I shared my disgust with the RNC and what...

The U.S. Army has reported that it has found no evidence that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl of Hailey engaged in any misconduct during his five years in captivity of the Taliban. The report stated that there is no evidence Bergdahl helped his captors while he was held after going missing from his Army outpost in eastern Afghanistan five years ago today, June 30, 2009. However, the Army has not concluded its investigation into the Bergdahl case. Officials still plan to invetsigate the circumstances of Bergdahl's capture by enemy forces. That investigation is expected to last several weeks or more. Bergdahl reportedly...

On June 30 The Atlantic ran a column focused on treating firearms as "a public health crisis" and allowing physicians "to determine who is fit to carry a gun." According to The Atlantic, "all U.S. states allow citizens to carry certain concealed weapons in public for lawful purposes, with the exception of felons, persons proven to abuse controlled substances, individuals with a history of domestic violence, and those deemed mentally unstable or dangerous." Citing the caveat regarding "those deemed mentally unstable or dangerous," The Atlantic explains that "some states may... require" a physician to sign off on a concealed carry...

Following up on the outrageous calls for the assassination of the entire Supreme Court, liberals on social media declared that the conservatives on the Supreme Court are all rapists. This was in response to the Supreme Court siding with Hobby Lobby in their lawsuit against ObamaCare. Not noted by any of these morons is the fact that the Justices were trying their best to correctly interpret the Constitution. Nope. To them, disagreeing with them is equal to rape. Here is just a short, horrifying sample of people who, if they vote, cancel yours out. "Today the Supreme Court of the...

President Hussein Obama has left the golf course long enough to urge Israel not to retaliate against the 'Palestinians' for the murder of Eyal Yifrach, Gil-Ad Shaer, and Naftali Frenkel '– who held Israeli and American citizenship.' (I wonder whether Jen Psaki gave him the name). This is from the first link. US President Barack Obama expressed his condolences Monday evening to the three bereaved families: "On behalf of the American people I extend my deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families of Eyal Yifrach, Gil-Ad Shaer, and Naftali Frenkel – who held Israeli and American citizenship. As a father,...

After witnessing the transfer of weapons from 'moderate' elements of the Syrian opposition to al Qaida and ISIS and the reappearance of said armaments in Iraq, Obama wants to openly provide half a Billion more to 'vetted' allies in Syria! When I first read the report, I was stunned. Here is an administration so audacious that they have no reluctance to publicly float a proposal to ask Congress to join them in an act that is tantamount to war crimes and treason! I realized I was looking at a carbon copy of what Obama had already done covertly with the...

Agency gave gay-rights group names and addresses of political opponents. In all of this past week’s flurry IRS news: Lois Lerner and other IRS’ officials hard drives crashing, emails showing Lerner targeted Sen. Chuck Grassley, and the IRS Commissioner telling Congress they’ve done nothing wrong — some news got lost in the shuffle. The IRS did do something very wrong, admitted it and paid a significant fine to resolve it. Two years after activists for same-sex marriage obtained the confidential tax return and donor list of a national group opposed to redefining marriage, the Internal Revenue Service has admitted wrongdoing and...

It's been a week since we witnessed here in Mississippi one of the most dastardly, corrupt Republican run-off election schemes we've ever seen. By now, you know much of the story. 42-year Washington incumbent U.S. Senator Thad Cochran was almost certain to lose the Republican primary run-off to conservative Mississippi State Senator Chris McDaniel. Cochran had already lost the first primary election to McDaniel, but sadly, McDaniel was just shy of the 50 percent of the vote needed to secure the win. So, former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, a close ally of Cochran, and his Democrat surrogates, went to work...

Three bombings in five days have mounted fears that the sectarian tinderbox of Lebanon could erupt. On Friday, Al-Qaeda-inspired armed group the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, which yesterday began calling itself the Islamic State in an apparent signal of its wide-reaching aspirations in the region, claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing on the chic Duroy Hotel in the heart of Beirut’s Raouche neighborhood, which is popular with tourists. The IS declared in a statement that the attack would be the first of many on Lebanese soil. Though the bomb was a near miss meant to detonate at a...

In the hyper-partisan world of Washington, it's too easy to fall into the trap of being either 100 percent Democrat or an all in Republican. But many Americans struggle to neatly define themselves on this two party spectrum, instead believing in a healthy mix of both liberal and conservative ideological truths to varying degrees. The Pew Research Center recently conducted a typological study, in which they discovered that most Americans fell within eight distinct political ideologies, outside of the standard two party system our government runs on. There groups are as follows: the Strong Liberals, who are pretty much what...

Monday, June 30, 2014 The Curse of Cain Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog After Cain killed his brother, the Lord told him, "A fugitive and a wanderer shalt thou be in the earth." But the natural order has been reversed, instead the Abels, if they survive, become homeless wanderers and the Cains build their Caliphates on the tombs of their victims. "Cursed shall you be from the earth," the Lord said, and so it has been.  The earth under their feet may be cursed, it yields nothing but sand and thistles, but they are nomads, forgetting...

Texas Democratic lawmaker used a racially tinged Spanish insult to describe the Republican Party during the state’s Democratic convention Friday. State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer, D-San Antonio, left, leaves the U.S. Federal Courthouse, May 29, 2013, in San Antonio. (Eric Gay/AP) State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer said at the Texas Democratic Convention that “GOP” stands for “gringos y otros pendejos,” the Houston Chronicle reported. The word “gringo” is sometimes used as a derogatory term to mean “white foreigner.” “Pendejo” can mean “asshole,” “fool” or “idiot.”

Today, the Supreme Court ruled that people cannot be forced by the government to provide contraception if it specifically conflicted with their religious beliefs, and that unions cannot force non-members to give them money. Liberals showed their knowledge of current events by saying that the justices who ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby were "five white men," despite the fact that one of them, Clarence Thomas, is black. In case you are liberal and don't know who Clarence Thomas is, here is a picture of him: Despite the fact that Mr. Thomas is not white, uneducated liberals (who, I remind...

The flood of illegals crossing over the border into the U.S. is an issue that’s become critical in recent days, largely due to the inactivity on the part of the White House to do anything about the situation. Many states, such as Texas, are sick of waiting on the president to take action, so they have created armed units to shut down the border without the help of the federal government.Ranchers have been getting attacked by illegals and border patrol units have been shot at by cartels and Mexican military choppers, yet Obama and his cronies have not lifted a...

It's a crisis. Costs are skyrocketing for this faster than anything else. Something has to be done. Health care? No. Education. Educational costs are rising faster than a Delta weather rocket. The ballooning costs of higher education dwarfs the increased costs of health care: We're being drained for educational expenditures- what do we get for it? Less and less. And yet, somehow the United States continues to lag the world in education. This is a lousy return on investment. Let's have a look as to why the costs of education are exploding. 1. Fauxchohontas Schools pay educators to teach one...

Today, the people who still love America rejoiced at the much anticipated decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Burwell, Secretary of Health and Human Services v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. At stake was the very concept of religious freedom itself. Should a private, family-owned company have the right to refuse to pay for employee insurance that covers contraceptive measures that violate their religious conscience? Thankfully, the court ruled the answer to that question was “no.” Liberty-minded Americans have been touting the decision as a victory. I, on the other hand feel this is nothing to crow about....
