Pentagon sources tell CBS News that reports are "credible" that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) likely used mustard gas against Kurdish fighters in Iraq. It is unclear if the gas was leftover from Saddam Hussein stockpiles or if they were brought over from Syria, which would be the two likeliest sources of the gas, said a senior Department of Defense official. The official said the reports are credible because of prior information, but did not elaborate. Mustard gas is considered an "antiquated" weapon that must be used in very large concentrations to be lethal, the official told...

September 30, 2013 POLITICS WHITE HOUSEFlashback: 1 day into last shutdown, Clinton-Lewinsky had first 'encounter' Paul Bedard The White House may be quietly hoping that a federal government shutdown slams the political prospects of the Republican Party like it did during the last crisis in 1995, but something else happened at the start of that shutdown that nearly destroyed the presidency: the sordid Oval Office sex affair between Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton began. As that shutdown began November 14th after Clinton and Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich stopped negotiating, the White House was forced to slash its staff of...

MY 7 yr old, autistic son, Matthew came home from his mother's house today with blisters on his arm and leg. I have tried to call her repeatedly to find out the source of the blisters, but no return call. So, I'm hoping some of the parents here will have seen something similar and can tell me whether it's something i need to be concerned about. There are four burns on him. Two on his inner forearm, a large grouping of blisters on his inner calf, and a small one just above the large one on the leg. I don't...

An Australian power company has withdrawn more than 3,000 Chinese-made protective uniforms after staff complained of skin irritations. Ergon Energy says there will be no more uniforms worn in the field from close of business today. The Electrical Trades Union says more than 250 Ergon Energy workers had broken out in rashes and some had vomited after wearing the flame-retardant suits. Ergon says as soon as staff reported skin irritations it advised them to seek medical advice. The company says independent scientific tests are being conducted on the uniforms and it has advised its suppliers to do the same. Chinese...

Wild Bill Clinton drew his wife's battle-scarred campaign even further off track when he told interviewer Charlie Rose that Americans would be taking a "risk" by voting for close rival Barack Obama, saying the junior senator from Illinois wasn't ready to be president. "If you listen to the people who are most strongly for [Obama], they say basically we have to throw away all these experienced people because they have been through the wars of the '90s," Clinton told Rose for the PBS show that aired Friday night.

Former President Bill Clinton turns 60 years old on August 19. Just don’t remind him. "In just a few days, I will be 60 years old. I hate it, but it’s true,” Clinton said at a world AIDS conference in Toronto. "For most of my working life, I was the youngest person doing what I was doing. Then one day I woke up and I was the oldest person in every room.” Clinton was a youthful 46 when he was first elected president in 1992. "Now that I have more days behind me than ahead of me, I try to...

Posted on Tue, May. 02, 2006 For women's feet, bliss is turning to blisters After being coddled by winter footwear, they now must suffer the indignities of warm-weather shoes. By Tanya Barrientos Inquirer Staff Writer Look down. There's a raw human drama taking place right now at shoe level. The annual sacrifice of women's feet. Protected by socks and tights all winter long, coddled by boots and sneakers, the feet of females everywhere have turned tender and weak. Each toe, each heel, each insole has become a pillow of soft pink. So vulnerable. So defenseless. And so unprepared for the...
