Police had to get physical with a number of Black Friday shoppers who refused to let go of discounted Samsung televisions during a fight at a Walmart in Texas. Cell phone footage of the brawl has gone viral after it was posted on YouTube and shows authorities having to forcibly remove shoppers who were lying on top of the giant 50 inch TVs. On sale for $218, the televisions were part of the Stafford store's One Hour Guarantee Promotion on Thanksgiving.

Fewer consumers hit the stores or went online this Thanksgiving weekend, a sign that Black Friday’s bloat into days and even weeks of promotions may be creating less urgency around the events that many retailers consider the kickoff to the holiday shopping season. The National Retail Federation reported that 55.1 percent of consumers shopped between Thursday and Sunday, according to a survey it conducted over the weekend. That is down from 58.7 percent the previous year. The NRF said total spending was $50.9 billion, an 11 percent decline from an estimated $57.4 billion in 2013.

The federal suits allege Harvard and UNC rely on race-based affirmative action policies that impact admissions of high-achieving white and Asian American students. The stars of a viral video of their subway brawl have been slapped with assault charges. In the video, 21-year-old Danay Howard can be seen taunting Jorge Pena, 25, over his clothing before the argument turn physical. Howard and Pena were both arrested at the West Fourth Street subway station at about 5am Saturday along with Howard's friends Kevin Gil, 21, and Shanique Campbell, 20, who had jumped into the fight to support her. Howard, the woman who was shockingly slapped across the face, has been hit with the most severe charges - including a felony.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a young woman who was found stabbed to death at her Florida home five months ago. Nicole Franco, 19, who worked as a pastry chef at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, was murdered in her own bed on June 3. DNA testing has lead the investigation to D'Marcus Tucker, 15, a neighbor at the gated Bridgewater Place apartments in Oakland Park. Tucker was charged on Monday with one count of first-degree murder.

A group of teenagers vandalized a Brooklyn deli on Saturday night after leaving a raucous party nearby, said police. Surveillance footage of the event shows the teens storming the entrance of Gourmet Butcher, a deli in crown heights at just after 9pm. The young vandals can be seen knocking over shelves in the front of the store and grabbing armfuls of candy as they threw storage on the ground.
