Charles Fruit thinks Nikki Haley would make a good president. He thinks she did a good job as governor in South Carolina, and he was impressed with her work as United Nations ambassador during the Trump administration. “She was just tough, and I like that,” the Mesquite, Nev., resident said. “She was common sense. She was well-spoken. She was respectable.” That’s why Fruit was upset to learn that he couldn’t really help her become the Republican nominee. Haley — the second most popular Republican candidate next to former President Donald Trump — is not participating in the Feb. 8 Nevada...

The American Ornithological Society says it will alter the names of North American birds named after humans, starting with up to 80 of them After two years of discussion and debate, the nation’s premier birding organization has decided that birds should not have human names. The American Ornithological Society announced Wednesday that it will remove names given to North American birds in honor of people and replace them with monikers that better describe their plumage and other characteristics. The group said it will prioritize birds whose names trace to enslavers, white supremacists and robbers of Indigenous graves. Among them is...

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) touted on Thursday the need for Congress to pass voting rights legislation as a number of Republican-run states, including Georgia, eye restrictions to the ballot box. “It is almost impossible to overstate how important this really is. We are at an inflection point. This is a moral moment in America, a defining moment in our history. Voting rights is not just one issue alongside other issues. It is about who we say we are, it is about our covenant with one another as an American people,” he said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “And so we’ve got...

Last year, the American Ornithological Society accepted a proposal to rename a bird linked to a racist figure. And there's more where that came from. ast summer, amid a national reckoning with systemic racism, the American Ornithological Society (AOS) accepted a proposal to rename McCown’s longspur, a grassland bird that was originally named after Confederate general John Porter McCown. The species is now called the thick-billed longspur. It marked the first time the organization agreed to change a bird’s name because it was racially offensive. That proposal, along with ongoing conversations about racial injustice, inspired Maryland-based ornithologists and birders Jordan...

Harris voiced concerns that medical professionals would not be the ones to validate a vaccine, if it was pushed out prior to the Nov. 3 election. “[T]hey’ll be muzzled, they’ll be suppressed, they will be sidelined...“I will say that I would not trust Donald Trump and it would have to be a credible source of information that talks about the efficacy and the reliability of whatever he's talking about,” she added...The Trump administration also asked states to prepare vaccine distribution sites by Nov. 1 – even though the FDA has not yet approved a vaccine...The move has health professionals increasingly...

I was talking with a liberal/democrat the other day during a business transaction, ( they don't know that I am a conservative and I have pretended to be middle left before when dealing with them, they are a lot further left than what I am pretending to be ). And I brought up the point that "Where the hell is the democrat leadership?" I said the anti-Fa and BLM are running around tearing down statues of confederates, and that is perfectly fine ( again playing the part), but now they are goign after statues of Abe Lincoln and other abolitionists...

Dinosaur Eggs Not Bird-Like After All by Tim Clarey, Ph.D. * Evidence for Creation › Evidence from Science › Evidence from the Life Sciences › Life Was Created Fully Functional › Variation Is Limited within Kinds Prevailing secular theory considers birds to be living dinosaurs, but new science is hatching to support the stark differences between these creatures. The data demonstrate dinosaurs were more likely cold-blooded like all modern reptiles. Dr. Gregory Erickson of Florida State University and his colleagues from the University of Calgary and the American Museum of Natural History recently published their findings on dinosaur incubation periods...

The Dixie Chicks burst onto the music scene with hits like "Wide Open Spaces" and "Goodbye Earl". But after Natalie Maines` negative comments toward President Bush, they all but vanished from the limelight. But now they`re back, and it seems the Chicks have even more to say. It`s been a "Long Time Gone" for the Dixie Chicks, three years to be exact, since Lubbock native Maines said, "We`re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas", at a concert in London, England. As a result, people all across the country, and here in Lubbock, nixed the Chicks....

George W. Bush's grandfather helped finance the Nazi Party. Karl Rove's grandfather allegedly helped run the Nazi Party, and helped build the Birkenau Death Camp. With the Schwarzenegger candidacy they have laid siege to America's largest state, lining it up for the 2004 election. The Bush family ties to the Nazi party are well known. In their 1994 Secret War Against the Jews, Mark Aarons and John Loftus use...

The Canada goose population in Seattle parks is down by about 75 percent from three years ago, when federal agents started rounding up and killing thousands of the birds to control their numbers. Federal wildlife agents have destroyed more than 5,600 geese in Seattle since a federal judge ruled in 2000 that the government could kill Canada geese in portable gas chambers set up on the back of trucks. The more aggressive approach has worked to the point where people can "see and enjoy" the geese, but "not be slipping in poop everywhere," said Roger Woodruff, a U.S. Department of...
