Homicide detectives were investigating Sunday the death of a 65-year-old man who was beaten by two unidentified women at a Willowbrook Metro train station. L.A. resident John Whitmore was waiting for a train at the Metro-Blue Line near Imperial Highway and South Wilmington Avenue (map) on Friday, June 13 when two black women kicked Whitmore and hit him with their hands until he collapsed, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Two Detroit teenagers were arrested Saturday in an attack on a suburban man who was brutally beaten by a mob after accidentally striking a boy with his pickup truck. Steve Utash remained in critical condition Saturday. Utash is white; Detroit is more than 80 percent black.

Police say they arrested 16-year-old Kenan Adams-Kinard just after 3 a.m. on Monday morning in connection with the murder of Delbert Belton. A school bus driver can be heard on surveillance footage pleading for help from a dispatcher as he witnessed a 13-year-old viciously attacked by three older teens. "You've got to get somebody here –quick, quick, quick," John Moody said. "They are about to beat this boy to death." PHILADELPHIA – Two people will serve prison time for their roles in the fatal beating of a 23-year-old man who was trying to hail a cab in Philadelphia. WPVI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/YalpZC ) that Kenneth Santiago pleaded guilty Friday to involuntary manslaughter in the death of Kevin Kless. Santiago's punishment is two to five years behind bars. Stephen Ferguson pleaded guilty, also Friday, to third-degree murder. He is to serve five to 10 years in prison.
