Six people, including a 12-year-old girl, were shot Wednesday night on Chicago's South Side during a memorial for a victim of a previous act of gun violence, police said. The shootings occurred about 8:16 p.m. in the city’s Greater Grand Crossing community in a "business establishment" on the 500 block of East 75th Street, Chicago police said. A member of the Republican leadership in the Tennessee House of Representatives, Tilman Goins, has introduced a bill to reform archaic gun law. Tilman is the Majority Caucus Treasurer, and is a member of the Criminal Justice and Business and Utilities committees.  His bill TN HB0011 the "Hearing Protection Act" would simply remove "firearms silencer" from the list of prohibited weapons. Fresno County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man in connection to a burglary and attempted kidnapping. It happened just after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Maple between South and Manning. Deputies say a woman and her two-year old daughter heard a window break in the back of her home. They saw a man in his 20's, who then broke in, stole some merchandise and tried to kidnap the child.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Monday that President Obama will "evaluate" a new bill that would ban online ammunition sales in the wake of the shooting massacre in Aurora, Colo. That left 12 dead and dozens more injured. During the daily press briefing, Mr. Earnest was asked whether Mr. Obama supports the measure, which aims to end sales of unlimited amounts of ammunition on the Internet and other mail orders.
