Don Gwinn began his presentation with a rousing analysis of the state of gun control in America today. He said a headline in The Onion summed things up nicely: “Obama gives bold speech on gun control, alone, quietly, in his office with the lights off”. Gwinn cited Tom Shafer’s boiling anger at the mainstream media’s clarion call for gun control after a left-wing kook attempted to assassinate Gabby Giffords. Gwinn reminded everyone what happened in 1999 after Columbine. The Million Mom March sprang up overnight and George Soros and his allies poured tons of money into that and other gun...

The state has published notice that it is on the verge of suspending Shellie Zimmerman's concealed weapons permit. She's the wife of George Zimmerman, the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who shot and killed Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black 17-year-old, in Sanford, Feb. 26, setting off weeks of civil rights rallies across the country. Both Zimmermans have concealed weapons permits, according to authorities, but the Florida Division of Licensing bought a legal notice in the Sanford Herald Sunday, officially notifying her that it was on the verge of suspending hers. It is taking that action after Special Prosecutor Angela Corey charged Shellie...

The Department of Justice and Media Matters corresponded and coordinated on stories about Operation Fast and Furious “gunwalking,” going so far as to disparage the citizen journalist who initially broke the story, Matthew Boyle of The Daily Caller reported today, citing emails obtained from a Freedom of Information Act request to determine the extent of cooperation between the government and the “progressive” advocacy group. “The emails…often show department public affairs chief Tracy Schmaler communicating with Media Matters bloggers,” Fox News reported in a follow-up story noting the arrangement targeted administration critics. “Sometimes, the emails were in response to inquiries. September 13, 2012 – In response to continuing complaints from Orange County firearms owners and Second Amendment civil rights activists, attorneys for the National Rifle Association and the CRPA Foundation have filed a lawsuit against Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens in U. S. District Court. Orange County citizens should be able to exercise their fundamental right to bear arms, but they are precluded from doing so because they do not have what Sheriff Hutchens uniquely considers “good cause” for a license to carry a firearm in public. The lawsuit seeks to compel her to issue those licenses, and asks the...

Seventy-four per cent want them banished to top shelves. The results come in the wake of the publication of a new Animal Aid report, called Gunning For...

Last time I checked, Americans were responsible for making our own laws. We do not invite foreign nations to have a say in how we govern ourselves within our own borders. Yet if you follow what's been going on with the United Nations this year, you know that the USA came perilously close to having other countries dictate our gun laws. And the fight isn't over yet.The United Nations has been debating an arms trade treaty for nearly a decade now. Though the treaty is ostensibly focused on military arms, it has long been clear that the majority of U.N....

Trish Cutler's fashion show at a Hudson firehouse drew dozens of law-abiding women in search of comfortable yet stylish holsters to discreetly carry their handguns — at the workplace or a night on the town. The offerings included holster for a bra and one inside a purse. Cutler, a target-shooting enthusiast from Claverack who belongs to three local gun clubs, has had her pistol permit for three years. The wife and mother is among growing numbers of women in the rising tide of New Yorkers who have licenses to legally possess handguns. Long before this summer's mass shootings in Colorado...
