Stephen Sinisi said he was walking his dog, Raleigh, near the woods on McClellan Street and D’Ercole Court after 9 p.m. Sunday when he saw what he thought was a stray dog approaching.“I was walking back and what looked like a dog approaching me,” Sinisi told CBS2’s Meg Baker. “Then we got closer I was like, ‘No, this is not a stray dog,’” he told 1010 WINS’ Rebecca Granet. Target shooters at the 27 1/4 Road range could find themselves with military company about four times a year. The Obama administration is unfairly blocking tens of thousands of military veterans from owning guns, a Republican senator is charging. The FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is filled with military veterans who are essentially banned from owning guns, even though they may not be a danger to society, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) wrote this week in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder. Police in St. Louis County are handling an officer-involving shooting that happened Friday night in Jennings, Mo., and left one person dead. I’m a Democrat, I’m socially liberal, and I’m a gun owner. And when I say a new law won’t stop criminals from getting guns, I hope readers will at least pause for a moment to consider. The bill’s unintended consequences will further polarize politics, while doing nothing to keep guns away from criminals.

“This requirement by the ATF is another example how this administration continually makes it harder for law-abiding citizens to possess firearms,” said Congressman Ted Poe. “Forcing citizens who are lawfully purchasing guns to disclose race and ethnicity with the threat of federal prosecution if they fail to disclose is completely unnecessary.
