Forget Michael Bloomberg, Gov. John Hickenlooper and legislative Democrats for now. The bigger threat to gun rights in Colorado is Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, headed by political operative Dudley Brown. The organization raises money billing itself as more pro-gun than the NRA. It is notorious for launching primary challenges against pro-gun conservatives, replacing them with ineffective activists who reject incremental victories and the art of compromise. The organization clings to unattainable aspirations of all-or-nothing victories. It is the group that nearly sabotaged the recall against former Senate President John Morse, architect of three gun laws Democrats enacted in 2013 at...

Loretta Lynch, the intentional enigma that is Barack Obama’s pick for attorney general, became a little less mysterious, due to a recent report by ABC News that brings into focus issues that should be of paramount importance and interest to gun owners. Also of concern is an approving testimonial for the nominee by “America’s Mayor,” anti-gun "Republican" Rudy Giuliani. While all “four hot button issues” in the ABC report are of general interest, two, amnesty for illegal aliens and ascertaining that everyone voting is, in fact, legally eligible to do so, have grave impacts on the future of the right...

Laws were meant to be broken.Or is it records?Darn it, I know it’s one of them! But which?Oh sorry, I was pretending what it’s like to be inside Hillary Clinton’s mind. It’s pretty awesome! In Hillaryland everyone is forever 25, they all live in an open field reminiscent of Woodstock, and weed is passed around like it’s going out of style. Also, nobody tells you what to do; no regulations are meant to be followed; everything is rainbows and lollipops all day, every day.I think from here on out I’m going to refer to Hillary as pistachio, because she’s a nut.Clinton claims...

On March 24th the YouTube channel “Model Pranksters” elected to upload the following video to their channel, and it becomes a prank gone horribly wrong. They apparently thought it would be a wise idea to travel to Kentucky, dress up as the murderer from the “Scream” movies, hide in the darkness, pop out with what appears to be a rifle, and point it at innocent people. Watch what happens when he chooses the wrong guy to scare, and then nearly wets himself. I wish I could say I laughed at that video while watching it, but I didn’t. Frankly I...

Gun Owners of America spearheaded a coalition of almost 30 groups this week and sent a letter to U.S. Senators opposing the confirmation of Loretta Lynch to be Attorney General of the United States. The vote on her nomination could occur as early as next week. And right now, the Republican Senate holds “all the cards” in the fight to stop her nomination. If they hold together, her nomination will be defeated. While Lynch doesn’t have 60 votes in the Senate, she probably has 51 votes because there are some Republicans who support her -- like Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Mark...

Arkansas black leaders are urging fellow minorities to take up arms, join gun clubs and help curb what they perceive as unjustified violence from police – the latest of many such call-to-arms among members of the black community. “Law enforcement has to understand, you cannot do what you please when you see us,” said Crittenden County NAACP chief, Shabaka Afrika, in a news conference reported by WTOC. Crittenden County Justice Commission founder Hubert Bass said locals ought to become better educated, especially about their constitutional rights, and should join gun clubs. “We’re going to study law,” he said. “What our...

A Five-Seven pistol was successfully used for self defense in Arkansas on April 13, 2015. More than 20 rounds were fired, 20 of them being fired by a permit holder armed with what appears to be an FN 5.7 pistol. The casing on the left is being held by Henry Richards, who witnessed some of the gunfight. If you look at the casing closely, it is clear that it is a 5.7. The identifying characteristics are the rimless base shown by the extractor groove on the bottom, and the beginning of the bottleneck shown at the top. An additional...

Texas is poised to become the largest state in the U.S. to allow citizens to openly carry handguns, a change long sought by gun-rights activists. The Texas House of Representatives on Friday voted 96-35 to allow residents with concealed-handgun licenses to openly carry their guns in public in holsters. A similar open-carry measure passed the Texas Senate last month; the two open-carry bills must be squared before being sent to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, who has indicated support for the idea. In contrast to its reputation for being permissive on firearms, Texas is one of six states, including California, New...

Country fans were outraged and on April 16, Currington announced he was pulling out of the concert. According to the International Business Times (IBI), the gun control concert got the wrong kind of exposure when Breitbart News reported that concert beneficiary Sandy Hook Promise “is a vehicle through which various relatives of Sandy Hook victims have joined to push gun control until it passes.” Currington announced his decision to pull out via Facebook:

Tim McGraw is facing a backlash from country music fans who say that his decision to headline a concert for a gun control charity could end his career. The Louisiana-raised singer is scheduled to raise money with a Hartford, Connecticut show on July 17 for the Sandy Hook Promise group, which organized in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in late 2012. However, anti-gun control commenters have said that McGraw, 47, risks losing his career the same way female country trio the Dixie Chicks never bounced back from criticizing President George W Bush. The conservator pro-gun blog Bearing...

Yesterday was a good day for gun rights in Minnesota. A bipartisan group of Representatives at the State Capitol passed several bills protecting and enhancing the Second Amendment. Bills enhancing the Second Amendment include: ⦠Emergency Powers Act ⦠(HF 722) - Protects private property rights by prohibiting government officials from confiscating firearms during a declared state of emergency.

Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder expressing deep concerns over Veterans Affairs evaluations classifying veterans as "mentally defective" and banning them in the federal background check system from purchasing or owning a firearm. According to Grassley's office, the VA "reports individuals to the gun ban list if an individual merely needs financial assistance managing VA benefits," keeping them from exercising their Second Amendment rights. (Bolding is mine) "The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is effectively a national gun ban list and placement on the list precludes...

I understand that to many people who work at the New York Times, guns are frightening animistic objects. But Andrew Rosenthal, the editorial page editor of the Times, just took the following swipe at Ted Cruz, under the headline "Ted Cruz’s Strange Gun Argument," and it is his argument, not Ted Cruz's, that is strange to say the least: Americans who believe the Second Amendment gives them an individual right to own guns (as opposed to a more general right to bear arms, as our editorial board argues) often make cogent arguments for their position. I believe that allowing people...

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — State Rep. Jim Lucas is known for his defense of gun ownership and gun rights. Nevertheless, the Seymour Republican raised some eyebrows with comments made on the House floor Thursday. Every week this session, someone in the House presents a domestic violence fact in the effort to increase awareness regarding domestic abuse. Thursday, Lucas felt the need to react. Watch his statement in the video player above by clicking the play button. “There are options out there for women,” he said. “Applications for a license to carry a handgun are up significantly in the state of Indiana...

At the top of this year Magpul announced yet another ground-breaking product, the PMAG 17. An inexpensive polymer 17-round Magpul magazine for Glock 17s, the PMAG 17 was guaranteed to succeed even before it hit the market. About the only thing that could go wrong was if some small, but critical step or test was overlooked. A small but critical mistake was made. Just a few days after the public release of the PMAG 17 Magpul has confirmed that some magazines are not feeding correctly when paired with other 9mm Glock pistols, specifically the Glock 19 and Glock 26. “Of...

The woman charged with shooting and killing her Miami Police officer boyfriend lost her bid to have her case dismissed under Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law. A judge ruled Friday that Tiniko Thompson will head to trial in the shooting death of Officer Carl Patrick. Thompson, who has claimed self-defense, will remain behind bars without bond. "What she did, she did wrong," Patrick's mother, Lucille Patrick, said after Friday's hearing. "He was a good man, I'm proud of him in his grave today." Thompson, 46, was arrested on a murder charge in the May 2014 death. At the "Stand Your...

The suspect arrested Thursday (April 16) and booked with attempted first-degree murder of a St. Charles Parish sheriff's deputy, was fired from the Transportation Security Administration for "unbecoming conduct" and was previously arrested and booked with domestic violence and aggravated assault, St. Charles Sheriff Greg Champagne said. The suspect, 58-year-old John Pau Devillier, is a native of St. Charles Parish. However, authorities say his most recent residence was a room at the Value Place Motel in Gulfport, Miss. "We are at this time thoroughly looking into Mr. Devillier's past," Champagne said. "We have learned, what I can positively corroborate about...

As reported On July 16 2015, country singer Tim McGraw along with Billy Currington will headline a fundraiser for gun control group Sandy Hook Promise in Connecticut. Sandy Hook Promise is a vehicle through which various relatives of Sandy Hook victims have joined to push gun control until it passes. Newtown father Mark Bearden joined the group pledging to “dedicate the rest of his life” to pursuing gun control. McGraw says he supports the Sandy Hook Promise, “Sandy Hook Promise teaches that we can do something to protect our children from gun violence“ and as AmmoLand Shooting Sports News has...

Ted Cruz thinks Americans should arm themselves against "tyranny," and Lindsey Graham thinks that's crazy. As incredible as it sounds, there’s an argument going on right now between two Republican senators (and, potentially, two Republican candidates for the presidency) over whether the American citizenry should be ready to fight a war against the federal government. The two senators in question are Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, and they can’t seem to agree whether the Second Amendment serves as bulwark against government “tyranny.” It all started with a fundraising email Cruz sent making the case that “The 2nd Amendment to the...
