Boom! Gun sales look like they're back on track. Smith & Wesson (SWHC) fired up investors on Tuesday by saying it sees "recent, positive trends" in the consumer firearm market, and that's likely to translate directly into higher profits for the gun maker. The firearm company feels so confident that it raised its sales and earnings targets for 2015 above what Wall Street had been banking on. The stock surged nearly 20% as investors cheered the news.

An American gun company has found a way around the anti-Russia sanctions that have banned imports of the Kalashnikov assault rifle: Make them here, in the U.S.A. The U.S.-made gun will have same name as the original: AK-47, arguably the most ubiquitous assault rifle in the world. An Arizona lawmaker has submitted a trio of bills that call for expanded background checks on private gun transfers and limits on firearm use by youth under 14. The legislation includes two measures, HB 2118 and HCR 2009, that would criminalize the private transfer of firearms by requiring all private transfers to be conducted through a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL). The third, HB2371, would restrict the use of any autoloading firearm by a shooter under the age of 14 years old.

A Lithia man has been charged after he tackled another man Tuesday who had a handgun in a holster -- and a permit to carry -- at a Walmart. Tech tycoon Sean Parker forayed into Nevada politics by donating $250,000 to a controversial gun control initiative being debated in Nevada.
