The tragic shooting in Tucson Saturday morning took the life of six people, among them John McCarthy Roll, the chief judge of the District of Arizona. Judge Roll was 63. Chief Justice John Roberts says the shooting in Arizona that killed five was senseless and inflicted "tragic loss on dedicated public servants and their families." He said Saturday that the judiciary has suffered the terrible loss of "one of our own," referring to federal Judge John Roll. "Roberts said Roll selflessly served Arizona and the nation with great distinction, as attorney and judge, for more than 35 years."
