Four years ago, David Axelrod was exuberantly riding the Obama wave. Today, the poor guy sounds decidedly down in the dumps. Check out this line from an email he sent to people on the Obama campaign list: "I don't know how this is going to end. But no matter what, I know each of us will have given this campaign everything we've got." Yikes! Take two Prozac and call me in the morning if you're still trailing by five in the Gallup poll! More after the jump.

CANTON, Mass. — Mitt Romney testified under oath in 1991 that the ex-wife of Staples founder Tom Stemberg got a fair deal in the couple’s 1988 divorce, even though the company shares Maureen Sullivan Stemberg received were valued at a tenth of Staples’ stock price on the day of its initial public offering only a year later. At the time the Stembergs split, Romney suggested, there was little indication that Staples’ value would soon skyrocket. Romney’s testimony in a post-divorce lawsuit brought in 1990 by Sullivan Stemberg was unsealed on Thursday in Norfolk Probate and Family Court at the Globe’s...

As I write this, Barack Obama's gal-pal Gloria Allred and the Boston Globe have aligned themselves with the Chicago Machine in a partisan crusade to launch an October Surprise against Mitt Romney. That we all know. What you might not know is that Allred's client, Maureen Sullivan, the woman pushing to unseal the gag order on her own divorce records, is a embittered leftie, a Huffington Post "Super User," and a vicious anti-Mormon bigot. For what's obviously a manufactured reason, Sullivan blames Mitt Romney for a divorce settlement she received during the early-nineties. Time's Mark Halperin reports that while he...

Desperation is in the air, and The Chicago Machine's ugliness is just starting to get ginned up. They've already all but accused Romney of being a "felon" and of murdering Joe Soptic's wife, but now that the polls are moving against Obama – and the President's closing argument has been reduced to Big Bird, binders, and bayonets – President Obama's about launch his own personal freak show starring Jeremiah Wright, Gloria Allred, and Andrew Sullivan. Today, things got improbably worse when the Daily Beast's Andrew Sullivan, who has reportedly been a guest of Obama's at the White House, launched into...

Famed civil rights attorney Gloria Allred will be in a Boston area courtroom Wednesday in an attempt to unseal the sworn testimony given by Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, in a prior court case, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Team Obama’s chief strategist stammered out a contradictory and evasive defense of the White House’s role in the Delphi bankruptcy settlement, which has left up to 20,000 older workers in Ohio with reduced or minimal pensions. The 2009 bankruptcy of the auto-parts maker “was not the decision of the president,” David Axelrod first told reporters during an Oct. 23 midday press conference, after he was asked about a Delphi-related rally that Gov. Mitt Romney held in Ohio. Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2012/10/23/axelrod-entangles-white-house-in-delphi-scandal/#ixzz2A9RQlHfX

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: My question, who from the Obama team is meeting with Bob Schieffer today? Why would I ask? Because I think somebody from the Obama team met with Candy Crowley and reminded her -- see, if you go back, if you look, two weeks before the debate, Candy Crowley herself knew that Obama did not call Benghazi a terror attack, and then somebody, two weeks before the debate, called her attention to the fact that he had and gave her that transcript. I watched the debate, and Romney hears Obama say that he called it a terror attack,...

Since it now appears that the first two presidential debates did very much indeed have a resounding effect on the state of the race, Team O can’t afford to take any chances with Monday’s foreign-policy debate. Unfortunately, the Obama administration’s narrative on the president’s foreign-policy record has long been that all of those drone strikes and the death of Osama bin Laden have vastly deteriorated the strength and coordination of terrorism in the Middle East, and the attacks on the consulate in Benghazi and the death of four Americans on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11 put something of a damper...

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 18, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) - Critics of CNN moderator Candy Crowley’s performance in the second presidential debate Tuesday night claim that it is part of a larger pattern that sees Democrats consistently receiving more time to speak, being interrupted less often, and being asked fewer probing questions than their Republican challengers.Republicans have cried foul after Crowley wrongly corrected Mitt Romney’s statement that Barack Obama did not refer to the assault on the Libyan embassy as an act of terrorism. A transcript indicates Obama did use the term “act of terror†the day after the attack, but in reference...

Watch again the exchange between Mitt Romney and Obama during the last debate when the issue of Benghazigate came up. Listen to how Obama tells Candy Crowley to ‘get the transcript’ after Romney asks Obama if he called the Benghazi terrorist attack an ‘act of terror’ in the rose garden before he popped off the Las Vegas for a fund raiser. Like a good lapdog, Crowley retrieves the transcript to ‘correct’ Romney and protect Obama. She later appeared on the CNN post debate recap to admit Mitt Romney was in fact right that Obama never referred to the actual terrorist...

On CNN's "State of the Union" on September 30, Candy Crowley insisted David Axelrod, President Barack Obama's chief strategist, was wrong when Axelrod tried to claim President Barack Obama called the Benghazi attack "an act of terror" on the day after. "First, they said it was not planned, it was part of this tape," Crowley said when Axelrod tried to spin her. This was Crowley the journalist, unlike the pro-Obama advocate who moderated Tuesday's debate between Obama and Mitt Romney and interjected herself into an argument between Obama and Romney on the exact same issue -- and took Obama's side....

Via Power Line and NRO’s Eliana Johnson and our own QOTD, Fox News’ Chris Wallace asks the question everyone except the media has been asking since the terrorist attack on our Benghazi consulate and the assassination of our Ambassador by al-Qaeda and/or its affiliates in eastern Libya. Wallace doesn’t get to ask Barack Obama whether or not he bothered to hold a national-security meeting in the aftermath of the attack to determine whether the story the White House used for the next week was on the level — our President is much too busy weighing in on celebrity feuds to answer questions like these....

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Chris Wallace grilled Axelrod on Libya and Romney on Fox News Sunday yesterday. Chris Wallace said, "The president made a statement, and he went off to a fundraiser, or to a campaign stop in Nevada. Now, before he went to the fundraiser in Nevada, did he meet with his National Security Council, try to sort out these shifting stories? Because the State Department said they never said it was a spontaneous demonstration, never said it was a video. Never said that. Never said they had that kind of intel. Did he meet with the National Security Council...

As Eliana Johnson points out over at NRO, this morning, David Axelrod continued to throw Hillary Clinton and the State Department under the bus.......So expect more details damaging to Obama and Biden slowly to trickle out.

(CBS News) The former head of a Special Forces "Site Security Team" in Libya tells CBS News that in spite of multiple pleas from himself and other U.S. security officials on the ground for "more, not less" security personnel, the State Department removed as many as 34 people from the country in the six months before a terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others. Lt. Col. Andy Wood will appear this week at a House Oversight Committee hearing that will examine security decisions leading up to the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the U.S. compound...

After David Axelrod’s repeated assurances this morning on Fox News Sunday that “there isn’t anybody on this planet” who feels a greater sense of responsibility for our diplomats than this President, Chris Wallace asked how soon after the Benghazi attacks the President actually met with his national security team. Wallace followed up on Axelrod’s non-answer by asking whether the President managed to squeeze in a meeting with the National Security Council before jetting off to Las Vegas for a campaign rally. Given Axelrod’s inability to produce a straightforward answer to the questions, it’s pretty clear the answer is “no.”

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH. So let's see. Martha Raddatz, who is going to moderate the vice presidential debate on Thursday night between Paul Ryan and Joe Bite Me, hosted Barack Obama at her wedding. She used to be married to the FCC commissioner, Julius Genachowski. Raddatz, Genachowski, and Obama all went to Harvard. (Who didn't in this regime?) Now ABC's doing everything they can to say, "Oh, it doesn't matter! Nothing to see here. What does that mean?" Well, how about she tell us who she voted for in 2008? And how about she tell us who she's gonna vote for...

The Obama campaign released news on Saturday morning of a holiday weekend, that it had raised a massive $181 million in September. It's a staggering sum heading into the final month of campaigning. It almost equals his fundraising for July and August combined. But details about Obama's fundraising windfall and a new report this morning from the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) raise troubling questions. Specifically, how much of this fundraising was illegal? GAI found that Obama's donation page doesn't use any industry-standanard card security measures. ...It isn't an oversight but a conscious decision to not use CVV security. In fact,...
