MORRIS — A 10-year-old boy was attacked by a bear Sunday morning, state officials say. Environmental Conservation police and state troopers responded to a report that a black bear had attacked the boy in Morris around 11 a.m. Sunday, a Department of Energy and Environmental Protection spokesperson said. A veteran police officer is fighting for his life after he was mugged by three men while on his morning jog through the Bronx. The unnamed officer, an 18-year veteran assigned to the Central Park precinct, was running through the Soundview district at 10:30am when he was attacked. Early yesterday morning, cops from the @NYPD67Pct were on a fixed post to address community concerns when they were suddenly assaulted with a glass bottle in an unprovoked attack. The suspect, who has been arrested for assaulting officers twice in the past, was quickly caught.
