After roaming around and studying downtown for a week, the Urban Land Institute’s advisory services panel provided Atlanta leaders with recommendations on how to move forward with the colossal proposed “Stitch” project. On Friday, ULI, which conducts land use research for cities around the globe, suggested the time is now to partner with local elected officials and philanthropic organizations to get the ball rolling on fundraising efforts for the potentially 14-acre project that would install a massive park and new construction above the Downtown Connector. But in order to be competitive for public and private funding—panelists expect the highway-capping project...

Stacey Abrams gave the Democrat Party rebuttal to President Trump’s State of the Union speech last night. The content was predictable and the delivery reasonably competent, but the interesting aspect of the speech was the decision to green screen Abrams and project her image onto video of a nebulous audience, which were apparently standing in a studio in another location, giving the broadcast a weird Photoshopped aura. Compounding his mistake, the director kept the audience image blurred, so that they seemed to loom ominously behind Ms. Abrams, freedom-eating zombies waiting to pounce. Maybe the Democrat Party should get some help...

The CBS broadcast game out of Atlanta was seen by a total audience of 100.7 million, according to CBS Sports. That number comes from when you add up everyone who watched on CBS the network, CBS Interactive, NFL digital properties, Verizon Media mobile properties, ESPN Deportes television and other digital properties. Besides being a very unique bundling spin on Super Bowl numbers that previous broadcasters haven’t shamelessly taken, that’s the first time the NFL’s big game on a network as fallen beneath 100 million viewers since 2009 when the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 in Super Bowl XLIII....

...[He's] given Jim Nantz, who’s been at the network since 1985, a new energy, a new vigor. “I’ve heard a lot of people say that,” Nantz told me this week. “It’s probably true. … I definitely feel like I’m trying to match up with Tony’s enthusiasm.” “I gotta be honest,” said Tracy Wolfson, the crew’s sideline reporter. “I felt reinvigorated going down the stretch of the season.” Romo’s not just an announcer. He’s an energy drink. It’s not just Romo’s thirst for football that has changed the CBS crew. As Wolfson notes, Romo’s hiring allowed a rare reset for a...
