A new report on sexual assault released today by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) officially puts to bed the bogus statistic that one in five women on college campuses are victims of sexual assault. In fact, non-students are 25 percent more likely to be victims of sexual assault than students, according to the data. And the real number of assault victims is several orders of magnitude lower than one-in-five.

Waco, Texas Waco police arrested a local woman for attempted arson and aggravated assault after she allegedly tried to set her estranged husband on fire Wednesday. Angela Alexandor, 33, went over to her husband’s home in the 900 block of East Church Street about 7:50 p.m. where she tried to light a Molotov cocktail and throw it at the house, Waco police Sgt. W. Police in Iowa say they arrested a man Tuesday after he used a McDonald’s McChicken sandwich to assault his pregnant wife. According to the Des Moines Register, 21-year-old Marvin Tramaine Hill told police that he threw the McChicken sandwich at his wife “because he doesn’t like them.”

A Citrus County deputy is on administrative leave after officials say he fatally shot a woman who pointed a taser at him during a disturbance call in Inverness late Sunday night.
