An AR-15 that was used as a photo prop for a Saturday wedding in Laurel Hill was taken from the owner's vehicle over the weekend. The Crestview man told Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputies that he left his car unlocked for a period of time during the event. The gun is one of at least two taken from unlocked vehicles in north Okaloosa County in the last few days. The man said that the DPMS AR-15 was valued at about $1,000 with a $500 scope. He discovered it missing Sunday. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle....

A painting once believed to be a $25 copy caught the eye of an art historian during the filming of a new BBC series — and turned out to be a $26 million Raphael. The Madonna composition had been covered in dirt and hanging above a door in the dusty corner of a room in the Haddo House, one of the National Trust for Scotland’s 18th-century homes in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. “I thought, crikey, it looks like a Raphael,” the historian, Bendor Grosvenor, told The Guardian. “It was very dirty, under old varnish, which goes yellow.”
