A World-Weary Puppy In Antarctica, Circa 1912 This poignant image (cheer up, buddy!) of a pup named "Blizzard" was taken in 1912 by Antarctic adventurer Frank Hurley, who two years later would be the photographer on Ernest Shackleton's famed Endurance Expedition. This shot is from the First Australasian Antarctic Expedition, which set out in 1911. Over a period of years, Hurley visited the frozen continent six times and came away with a trove of stirring images.

He was 91. Today marks the 25 year anniversary of Adobe Photoshop being launched and changing the way we see the world. Here’s a look at how Photoshop started and how far it has come in the past two-and-a-half decades. The birth of the software can be traced back to 1987, when developer Thomas Knoll created a simple pixel imaging program called Display. It was able to display grayscale photos on a black-and-white monitor.

It's strange that many people don't consider television shows, films, and video games to be "art" because of their violent and provocative content. But, have you ever looked at some of the most famous classical paintings? Some of the most famous paintings of the old world are downright vulgar. Nudity and disturbing images of violence such as deities eating babies whole, women having sex with animals, and even beheadings plaster the walls of art museums everywhere. Not only that, but these paintings are nearly priceless. People view them sipping on wine and possibly even adjusting their monocles. When you really...

An unretouched Marie Claire photo of Cindy Crawford leaked on Friday, in which the 48-year-old supermodel looks pretty amazing posing in a black bra, undies, a furry coat and a hat. Marie Claire commented on the photo, sharing that its origins are actually from a December 2013 cover story from Marie Claire Mexico and Latin America. "No matter where the photo came from, it's an enlightenment -- we've always known Crawford was beautiful, but seeing her like this only makes us love her more," the magazine writes."[The photo] is real, it is honest, and it is gorgeous."

GAFFNEY, S.C. - No, the Gaffney Peachoid isn't covered up because it's cold. The water tower is draped in a protective curtain as crews work to give it a facelift. Last year, work began to give it a makeover. Workers prepped the giant peach-shaped landmark by putting up a support system that allowed them to hang the curtain safely for sandblasting and painting. Now that the cover is up, they will start the make it look shiny and new. The project is expected to be finished by the end of the month.

A long-lost painting attributed to Leonardo da Vinci was confiscated from a bank vault in Switzerland after Italian police said it had been exported illegally and was in danger of being sold for up to £90 million. Swiss police, acting on a request by their Italian counterparts, seized the portrait of Isabella d’Este, a Renaissance noblewoman, from a private bank vault in Lugano on Tuesday. After being lost for centuries, the painting was rediscovered in 2013 in a collection of 400 artworks kept in a Swiss vault. The authorities then were alerted to the existence of the painting, but it...

This smiley face hovering in space looks like it was beamed into the heavens by a celestial keyboard. Captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, it was in fact created by a quirk of general relativity known as gravitational lensing. The glowing eyes are bright galaxies that are part of a galaxy cluster known as SDSS J1038+4849. The massive structure warps space-time, bending light like a lens to create a stretched image of distant galaxies, called an Einstein ring. The well-positioned circular shape creates the outline of the face and the wry grin.

I was thinking about selling my arm knit infinity scarves on Etsy. I've discovered I need to get a fed tax ID number, register my business with my state (Ohio), create a sales tax payment account on the state's tax site, get a vendors license, and potentially charge and pay local sales tax. All this for what I'd consider my "egg money"? If you sell on Etsy or know somebody who does, could you share the experience?
