Lt. Mike Sadauskis said officers were called to the pavilion area of Mayo Park about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after a 28-year-old Rochester man had been tackled by up to six other men. A militia has set up a command center south of San Antonio to prepare for what they say is a mission to protect the United States from the influx of illegal immigrants. The militia, operating via the website PatriotsInformationHotline.com, founded by Barbie Rogers, said members at the command center in Von Ormy will deploy to Laredo first and spread to other parts of the border, a local ABC affiliate reported.

Armed men have seized the government buildings in the capital of the Ukraine’s Crimea region and hoisted a Russian flag over a barricade. The men occupying the parliament building in the regional capital, Simferopol, early on Thursday did not come out to voice any demands. They wore black and orange ribbons, a Russian symbol of the victory in World War II. The men also put up a sign saying “Crimea is Russia.” They threw a flash grenade in response to a journalist’s questions. ARGYLE — School board members voted unanimously a second time Wednesday to approve a controversial policy that will allow some teachers, administrators and other staff members to carry firearms on campus. The new vote also authorizes some school board members to carry concealed guns at board meetings or on school property, a provision that was not spelled out in details provided by the school district after the previous vote.
