Yes, at first glance the title of this piece appears to be provocative (indeed, some probably stopped there and refused to continue reading). However, it is provocative only under two conditions. First, it is provocative when viewed within the frame of reference to which we’ve become conditioned – that is, that Progressivism and religion are examined as totally separate and distinct topics, a conceptual version of the so-called “separation of church and state” if you will. Second, it is provocative if this writer had deliberately crafted it just to get a reaction..... More at Link:

By Philip Cottraux Skeptics who don’t believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God have a few problems, not the least of which is that it successfully prophesies major world events before they took place. And I’m not just talking about end-times prophecies that haven’t occurred yet. Isaiah and Daniel are the two starkest examples. I’ve already written about Daniel in my previous blog, “The Daniel Lynchpin,” which you can read here. This week I want to talk about Isaiah, why it’s come under fire by Bible critics, and resolve the “multiple authors” controversy. Isaiah’s prophetic ministry started in...

By Philip Cottraux Stephen Hawking passed away at the age of 76 this week. A theoretical physicist, professor of mathematics at Cambridge University (a position once held by Isaac Newton), and author of the best-selling book A Brief History of Time, he was a legend in the scientific community. When Hawking spoke, the world listened. At one time, he seemed to be ambiguously deist (open to the possibility of God, but not as a loving Creator). But by the end, he was a devout atheist. In light of his death, the media has proudly displayed some of his most notorious...

I recently became aware of this blog: https://socialcross.org/ (Social Cross). It advertises itself as being a moral, Christian alternative to Facebook. I joined it a whim - and since I've been there (a little over 1-2 months) three fellow Catholic posters (also registered on the site) were booted off because they "offended" the owner of the site - "Pastor" Rich. In other words, they were booted off because they posted refutations to the lies daily posted on Social Cross regarding Catholics. One might call it a "feeding frenzy" that immediately occurs every time "Pastor" Rich posts a blatantly anti-Catholic missive....

Question: "What is a true Christian?" Answer: According to Acts 11:26, the followers of Jesus were first called Christians at Antioch. Why were they called Christians? Because they were “followers of Christ.” They had committed their lives to “walk as Jesus did” (1 John 2:6). Other Scriptures explain how a person comes to faith in Jesus Christ and begins this relationship. For example, Ephesians 2:8-9 reveals that a person becomes a Christian by faith, not by following a list of rules or good works: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing;...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem The Book of Psalms Psalm 135 Psalm 135 1 Praise the Lord.[a] Praise the name of the Lord; praise him, you servants of the Lord, 2 you who minister in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. 3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant. 4 For the Lord has chosen Jacob to be his own, Israel to be his treasured possession. 5 I know that the Lord is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods. 6 The Lord does...

I am not a fan of the show.... but was listening to him (Neil Saavedra, AKA, "Jesus Christ") on the way to get coffee for the wife and I while we were watching the niece. I enjoyed the call. I may start listening and uploading stuff like it in the future. BUT KNOW that a dude who responds like Jesus, is, ...well... creepy and borderline blasphemous in my mind.

For the first time, a Satanist group has official permission to meet in a public school at the end of the school day. An After School Satan Club (ASSC) meeting was held at Sacramento Elementary School in Portland, Oregon on November 16th, 2016. The previous day, at Parkrose Middle School (also in Portland), the Satanic Temple made a presentation that was supposed to be open to the community and press but was not. The second ASSC is set to meet at Point Defiance Elementary School in Tacoma on Wednesday, December 14th. Approved in September, the ASSC, seeks to provide an...

I rarely write about American politics. Here in Israel, existential national threats prevent me from dwelling on America’s problems. In Israel, Arabs butcher our thirteen-year-old daughters in their bedrooms and gun down our brothers and fathers, and the impotent leadership responds in typical fashion— with powerful speeches to comfort the bereaved. So naturally the demise of America cannot take up much of my time. But that doesn’t mean I’m disinterested. I am concerned with America’s welfare. As a Jew with a sense of history, I appreciate the haven America provided us throughout the last few centuries, when most countries offered...

The Ark Encounter, a full-scale, 510-foot long model of Noah's Ark, has opened to the public in Grant County, Kentucky. It is the largest timber frame structure in the United States and the largest free-standing timber frame structure in the world. I find this fascinating in light of biblical prophecy, specifically 2 Peter 3:3-10: Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But...

The Lord’s Judgment Will Not Be Delayed Forever – A Meditation on the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel Msgr. Charles Pope • June 20, 2016 • This post is a kind of follow-on from yesterday’s post as we read the stories of wickedness in ancient Israel and what God did about it.The first reading from Monday’s Mass (of the 12th week of the year) describes a crucial, crushing moment in the history of ancient Israel: the loss of the Northern Kingdom and the destruction and deportation of what came to be called the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel.Shalmaneser, king...

http://how2becomeachristiantv.com/2015/12/21/ex-church-of-christ-testimony-tyler-morgan-how2becomeachristian-tv/ I do not know how to post a video here, if someone will tell me I will post the video here. Here is my text intro to the video on the site. Tonight I did my first apologetics TV show. It turned out good. I interviewed ex-Church of Christ member Tyler Clay Morgan on how he was an atheist, got saved in a CoC church, got abused and then became a Lutheran and some about his pro wrestling career. Tyler did a great job and was very personable and I thank him for coming on the show and helping...

...During this time I was single, and friends set me up on a lot of dates. When they asked me if there were any deal breakers, I explained there was only one: No religious people. Shortly after I made that declaration, I started dating a guy who mentioned, in passing, that he attended a Presbyterian church. I flinched. But I liked him, and because I was so religiously illiterate, I didn’t understand that some Presbyterian churches are evangelical. I assumed he was a cultural Christian, like the few other Christians I knew. A few months into the relationship he confronted...

I have been blessed to serve the Lord and his people full time for about 15 years. Coming from a family with 3 different cults, I have studied theology and cult apologetics off and on for over 30 years. PLEASE SHARE THIS SITE WITH YOUR FRIENDS. I have many years of work, about 40 apologetics webites, here for people to benefit from. It is my goal that in all things that I do, my Lord Jesus will be glorified and His will to be done in my life and on earth as it is in heaven. May His will be...

It is that time of week again, where we talk about the Mary, the Mother of God. This is definitely the single most important title that Mary has. If someone gets this wrong, then they get the Divinity of our Lord wrong, and that means the whole plan of Salvation is just messed up. So let us look at this most important title. Theotokos, God-bearer in Greek, is what the council of Ephesus declared in 431. It specifically says this “If anyone does not confess that God is truly Emmanuel, and that on this account the Holy Virgin is the...

When leaders of City Church in San Francisco (see “Blindsided” in WORLD, July 11, 2015) recently decided to offer membership to same-sex marriage partners, investment banker Liza Hing says “a lot of people in the church were totally blindsided.” Others see such a change as inevitable. But that’s not the way it has to be, even at churches in cities with large gay populations. Redeemer Presbyterian Church Pastor Tim Keller has shown how to attract thousands of young New Yorkers while remaining biblically faithful. The Acts 29 Network is also attracting many young Christians to the new churches it plants....

In September of 1996 I resigned my ministry as a Protestant pastor to enter the Catholic Church. It was a decision that was easy for me to make in that I was convinced that Catholicism was true and that the Catholic Church was my spiritual home. It was a decision that was nearly impossible to make in that I understood the implications of that decision. I knew what it would entail in practical terms. This was beautifully manifest, shall we say, when three months after leaving the ministry I was waiting tables at a restaurant in Encino. I was standing...

Atheists should drop their easily dismissed scientific, philosophical or historical arguments against Christianity, and instead quiz believers about Old Testament violence and hell, writes John Dickson.
