Way before Congressman Tony Weiner's Twitter escapades, (Pennsylvania) State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-17) had his own issue with the internet. While Leach didn't flirt with indecent exposure or corruption of minors on the blog he ran in 2005 while a state representative for the 149th District, he did write some pretty weird things that one would prefer not to have come from the mind of someone who makes our laws. CHICAGO --Responding to a newspaper report, Sen. Barack Obama said Saturday that arrangements he had with a political fundraiser accused of shaking down companies might have raised the appearance of impropriety. Antoin "Tony" Rezko, whom Gov. Rod Blagojevich has described as a friend and a fundraiser, has pleaded not guilty to charges that he plotted to squeeze millions of dollars in kickbacks out of investment firms seeking state business. After a year of trying to convince voters that all Republicans are corrupt because of the actions of a couple of rotten apples, the Democrats now find themselves with not one, but two senators under fire for crooked behavior. Minority Leader Harry Reid promised to amend disclosure reports after it became known that he earned $1.1 million on a real estate deal for property he hadn't owned for three years. Not a bad deal.
