The Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday finalized a rule to end a "secret science" regulation that was imposed under former President Donald Trump that excluded certain studies that didn't make all data publicly available. The agency announced the end of the rule on Wednesday. The move allows the EPA to consider studies that don't make available all data, which is sometimes done to protect privacy. Trump's administration billed the restriction as a transparency measure, but critics argued that it might ultimately do more harm than good for an agency that values such varying scientific data like the EPA. "This action...

Ahmed Hassan .. left a homemade bomb on the train. At Parson's Green tube station, the device detonated. Fortunately for the commuters, which included...

Remember "clock boy," the bespectacled Texas adolescent who proudly brought a disassembled pre-digital era Radio Shack (remember them?) clock to school and showed it to his teacher? Cultural misunderstanding followed. Supposedly. In the post-September 11 but pre-Paris, pre-Mali (remember that?) era, the teacher was concerned because the clock was packed in a briefcase with wires dangling from it. Could it be a bomb on a timer? The student's name was Ahmed Mohamed. The boy's father was a local agitator. And so the teacher said something, dutifully reporting his suspicions to the police. The police questioned the student, receiving evasive answers....

The reality is that the episode won him a meeting with major Islamist figures, like the prime minister of Turkey, Ahmet Davutoglu and the president of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir. In fact, Mohamed al-Hassan Mohamed wanted to challenge Bashir for the presidency in the 2010 elections, but the Butcher of Darfur, as the...
