A black Friday Best Buy ad is getting blasted this Thanksgiving. It includes a nod to the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha, which is celebrated this weekend. That has angered some customers, who point out that Best Buy stopped using "Merry Christmas" in its ads in 2006 and replaced it with "Happy Holidays." Best Buy is trying to curb any controversy saying that this year’s ads will feature several different holidays, including Christmas.

Crescent Project says Eid Al-Adha is a great time to witness to Muslims. USA (MNN) ― An advertisement in the United States has been greeted with praise and condemnation. This week, a major electronics retailer got flack for including with its circular advertising Thanksgiving Day sales a note saying "Happy Eid Al-Adha," a Muslim holiday, which begins this week. According to the founder and president of Crescent Project Fouad Masri, Eid Al-Adha is a holiday created by Mohammed as he attempted to trace his roots back to Abraham. "He made the celebration to remember that Abraham took his son to...

Here it comes: Best Buy ran a national Black Friday ad inviting the world to celebrate Thanksgiving and Eid Al-Adha, the Muslim festival of sacrifice. Fair enough, right? Happy Eid!

There are only 35 shopping days left until Christmas. I'm keenly aware of this primarily because of those overcaffeinated Glee-show-choir-in-red-white-and-blue-alpine-sweaters-and-ear-flaps-making-high school-cheerleading-pyramids Gap ads that started running about a week ago. You know, the ones where they chant a little ditty titled, annoyingly, "Happy Dowhateveryouwannukah." "Go Christmas! Go Hannukah! Go Kwanzaa! Go Solstice!" the exceptionally good-looking, multicultural, skinny-jeans-clad cheerbots shout. "You 86 the rules, you do what just feels right," they cheer, before entreating us to "do whatever [we] wannukkah" this ambiguous winter holiday season. Their jangly dance number ends by wishing us "a cheery night." How festive, you say? Meh....

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Wal-Mart's much-awaited Black Friday deals will focus on a gamut of gadgets such as high-definition TVs, laptops and Blu-ray players, as well as holiday gift favorites such as toys and DVDs, according to a copy of the retailer's circular obtained by CNNMoney.com. While not confirming the entire circular, a Wal-Mart spokeswoman confirmed some of the deals, which will be available between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. local time on Nov. 27, that appear in the leaked circular. "There's a lot of excitement that builds up around electronics," said Wal-Mart's Tara Raddohl. Items with confirmed prices for...

Here is a great new National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC)ad out just in time for Halloween, that dubs Obama's attempt to impose Government Health Care on America the scariest movie ever, a movie that cost "$3.5 Trillion to make." It concludes with the creepy singing in praise of Obama who is "gonna change us." Great ad! . . . (VIDEO)

Fred Thompson, the former senator and candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, is upping the ante in the inner Republican party battle over the special election in New York's 23rd congressional district by starring in an ad for Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate. Thompson, who first endorsed Hoffman last month, has recently been joined by Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in endorsing him over the Republican Party nominee, Republican State Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava. The election, which happens a week from today, is being held up as a case study of the current conflict...

Pretty good ad.I think just about any voter will understand THIS.LOL! The name "Scozzafava" (RINO), is not even brought up!!

It is surely one of the most unusual pitches in this year's gubernatorial elections -- a Tony Soprano-like figure defending New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's recent efforts to close the gun show loophole and warning Virginians not to get too attached to their Second Amendment freedoms "if ya know what's good for ya." Bloomberg underwrote a commercial in April that attacked former Virginia Atty. Gen. Bob McDonnell for his pro-gun positions and pushed for the closure of the state's "gun show loophole." Now Bloomberg is running for re-election, McDonnell is running for governor and the nation's larger gun lobby --...

Here is video of a great new ad from the Family Research Council that shows just who will have to pay for President Obama's plans to impose Government-run Health Care on America - the Next Generation. The ad shows a boy talking to his Grandpa:Boy: Will your surgery cost a lot of money?Grandpa: Yes, but it's free. The government's taking care of it.Boy: Daddy says nothing is for free. Who's paying for it?Grandpa: You are.The ad then shows the boy getting dressed, picking up his briefcase, and heading off to work, saying "See you around 5:30 pm," to his Grandpa....

So the lefties in Seattle think they can attack Susan Hutchison, who is running for King County executive, by making Hutchison out to be the next Sarah Palin. Hutchison told the Seattle Times that the ad was funny: “The stereotyping of women who run for office is silly. I’m unique. She’s unique. Christine Gregoire is unique. But I think it demonstrates the narrow view we find from my opponent, who likes to lump anyone who doesn’t represent his point-of-view into the same bucket.” Paying for the ad were Service Employees International Union, Planned Parenthood and the Washington State Council of...

'Ho White and the Seven Dwarves' beer advert angers Disney A beer advertisment featuring a ranchy version of Snow White has reportedly raised the ire of Disney. Published: 7:00AM BST 16 Oct 2009 The link to Snow White in the advertisement has reportedly angered Disney. Photo: adelaidenow.com.au The x-rated advertisement, for Jamieson's Raspberry Ale, depicts the fairytale heroine blowing smoke rings while lying in bed with seven semi-clad dwarves. In this Disney dystopia, Snow White has been renamed "Ho White", while the loveable dwarves Sleepy, Happy and Doc are rebranded Filthy, Smarmy and Randy - supposedly to represent different types...

An Australian beer company has landed itself in Disney's cross hairs with an ad campaign featuring the likeness of Snow White in bed with semi-nude dwarves. The Foundry, brewers of Jamieson's Raspberry Ale, said the "Ho White" campaign, based on characters from Disney's 1937 animated film, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves," is designed to convince consumers the beverage is "anything but sweet," The (Sydney, Australia) Daily Telegram reported Friday. The campaign, which includes advertisements online and in bars, features "Ho White" blowing smoke rings while in bed with dwarves renamed "Filthy, Smarmy and Randy" by the company.

Just an anti-ObamaCare ad during the Red River shootout (OU leading Tex 6-0, BTW).....that means they are going for the kill. An ad during the big college football game of the week is serious stuff, costs a lot, and reaches a lot of people. I don't care for the insurance cos too much, but hell, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and I wish them well in their quest to crush Obama and his asinine socialist health care plan.

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) launched two TV ads on Thursday, seeking to allay jittery voters more than a year before they cast their ballots. Reid faces low poll ratings, in part due, according to pundits, to the recession and his leadership in Democratic efforts to pass a controversial healthcare reform bill. The 60-second spots released by Reid's campaign feature focus on jobs and the senator's life story. In Hard Work, images of Reid as a boy and a young man are shown while an announcer says, "The son of a hard rock miner, Harry...

Here is a new web ad by a Liz Cheney-backed group that hammers President Obama for the difference between his rhetoric and reality. The ad highlights key statements by Obama that have not been consistent with what he has actually done. The ad says: Barack Obama knows how to give a great speech. But when it comes to America's defense. The rhetoric doesn't match the reality. If you think America's President must act to defend America instead of just talking about it. . . .

Democrat Creigh Deeds is not backing off negative campaign ads against Republican Bob McDonnell, at least in the Northern Virginia area. The campaign this morning releases a new spot already airing in the Washington area, which attacks McDonnell's claim, featured on many campaign signs, that he is "Fairfax's Own" because of his Northern Virginia childhood. "Bob McDonnell says he's from Fairfax County," the narrator says. "But that was before he attended Pat Robertson's law school. And served on its board." Before, the narrator continues, he wrote that working women are detrimental to the family, he introduced 35 bills on abortion...

She’s Madge the manicurist for the new millennium. Stephanie Courtney, also known as “Flo,” the perky Progressive Insurance salesgirl with the red lipstick, is the commercial break’s new sweetheart. And in an age when the DVR is said to have killed the television pitchman, Courtney is attaining TV ad icon status.

When your name is Creigh Deeds, your opposition is going to be awfully tempted to use the AC/DC song. When you run a negative campaign, you kind of invite it. When Rep. Jim Moran, a Democrat (and brother of one of Deeds's primary rivals), starts telling the press that his campaign is too negative, and that, "he's got to give people a reason to vote for Creigh" . . . well, the temptation is overwhelming. Ladies and gentlemen, the Republican Party of Virginia fills a need:

I've been seeing a new commercial for Creigh Deeds recently. It's been getting a lot of airtime in the Northern Virginia market. Although I'm glad to see the Deeds campaign try to return to a discussion about the issues, I think I'm more impressed that they could make this one with a straight face. (Notice that Senator Warner's voice is cracking a bit. Must be from all the spit-takes that they probably had to run through to get this commercial done). Video, after the jump.

OREGON (BNO NEWS) – Nike, Inc. has denied media reports that it has signed an endorsement contract with ex-Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, a spokeswoman told BNO News on Thursday. On Wednesday, many U.S. media outlets had confirmed through Michael Vick's agent that Nike signed a contract with Vick. Nike dumped Vick as an endorser and pulled his products from retail stores in 2007 after he was charged, and later convicted, with bankrolling and running a dog fighting ring. "Nike does not have a contractual relationship with Michael Vick. We have agreed to supply product to Michael Vick as we...

AUGUSTA, Maine (BP)--The issue of "gay marriage" in public schools is now front and center in Maine, thanks to a new television ad paid for by a group opposed to redefining marriage. Stand For Marriage Maine launched the ad Sept. 23, spotlighting a Massachusetts couple whose son's second-grade class was read a book, "King & King," about a prince who "marries" another prince. The couple objected and requested notification of similar books in the future, but the school refused. The couple then sued in federal court and lost. The ad is at the heart of an effort to pass Question...

For weeks now, I've been pointing out with some regularity that while Sarah Palin is surging toward 1,000,000 fans on FaceBook--the second highest total for any American political figure behind only Obama--Mitt Romney has been stuck at about 70,000 for months. Depending on the news cycle and what she's up to, Palin gains between 1,000 and 10,000 fans per day and hasn't spent a dime to do it. Well, I guess this disparity has finally gotten under old Mitt Romney's skin because he's decided to do something about it. What something, you ask? The same thing he always does to...

Velvet Glove, Iron Fist author Christopher Snowdon interviews cigarette advertising model David Goerlitz. We here present the collected interview segments which are available in eleven parts at YouTube. David Goerlitz, called the “Winston man,” came to feel guilty about promoting cigarettes. He felt he was influencing children wrongly. He came to despise crass Big Tobacco executives. He began lecturing kids in schools about avoiding tobacco. He became a darling of the antitobacco movers and shakers. Then he came to see these prohibitionists for the essentially greedy, fanatical, and immoral snakes that they are. He says he was naïve. He still...

Here is video of CNN's Campbell Brown slamming Fox News for their ad asking why other networks - including CNN - "missed the story" - referring to the huge 9/12 March on Washington. Campbell Brown rightly points out that CNN did cover the story. We even posted video last weekend of a CNN Reporter being shouted down with chants of "Glenn Beck" and "Tell the truth" as she tried to report on the rally. So it is not true that CNN did not cover the story. But it is true they "missed" the story, because much of their reporting sought...

A provocative full-page newspaper ad from Fox News drew heated reactions from its rivals today and one demand that The Washington Post apologize for running it. Over photos of protesters gathering for an "anti-tax" rally in Washington last Saturday, the ad asked: "How Did ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and CNN Miss This Story?" The problem with the ad is that the other networks indeed covered the protest, which -- like similar demonstrations across the country -- were heavily promoted by Fox, especially talk show host Glenn Beck. The ad appeared Friday in the Wall Street Journal and New York Post,...

Though Ad Was Never Authorized, It Somehow Ended Up On The Internet, Causing Furor From Victims' Families NEW YORK (CBS) ― The World Wildlife Fund has condemned an unauthorized ad that is circulating on the Internet. It tastelessly refers to 9/11 and was rejected by an ad agency. The ad shows dozens of planes all headed for lower Manhattan, with the World Wildlife Fund logo and the caption: "The tsunami killed 100 times more people than 9/11." The response from WWF came quickly. "It's just insulting and appalling and we would never have ever considered using such images or such...

Harry Reid is having a bad year. Maybe Mickey Mouse is in the tank for Obama as much as General Electric, Both Disney-owned ABC and GE-owned NBC are refusing to run anti-Obamacare ads from the League of American Voters, which features a neurosurgeon who warns that a government-run health care system will lead to the rationing of procedures and medicine, especially for seniors. The networks supposedly rejected the ad becuase there was not enough proof of the claims in the ad. Of course NBC ran a Today Show special in the White House talking about Health Care, and ABC ran a prime time Obamacare special. Here's some...
