A University of California, Berkeley task force is blaming conservative students for destructive protests on campus, saying that hosting conservative speakers was “likely to incite a violent reaction.” The report was filed on April 10 by a Commission on Free Speech that Chancellor Carol Christ created last October to “analyze events featuring external speakers” on campus in the wake of a series of disruptive protests against planned appearances by speakers such as Ben Shapiro, Milo Yiannopoulos, and Ann Coulter.

(Skip) Unfortunately, what Kirch in particular seems to want to create is a medical community that aligns as closely as possible with his particular political views—and to insist that future doctors accept those views as settled fact. This leaves students who don't share Kirch's (and the AAMC's) transformative vision with a difficult choice: Will they violate their own integrity in order to succeed? The AAMC is not alone among accrediting institutions seeking to steer professions leftward. The American Psychological Association, which accredits a variety of graduate-level psychology programs, has taken strong positions on topics such as pay equality and gun...

What would you say if I told you that the faculty at most colleges and universities, particularly the larger liberal arts schools, is predominantly composed of liberal Democrats? You might find that surprising if you happen to have been living under a rock for the past several decades but otherwise, this is pretty much a dog-bites-man story. But just how bad is the imbalance? Mitchell Langbert at the National Association of Scholars (NAS) recently finished a lengthy research project examining the question and has published the results. No matter how bad you think the level of liberal bias is at...

Bush.

Teachers all over the country are going on strike. They say they want higher salaries and education funding and the tax increases necessary to pay for them. But there’s a bigger motivation underlying the strikes — mobilizing Democrats. What do all of these strikes and protests have in common? They are taking place in states where Democrats are either trying to make gains or consolidate their power in this fall’s elections. Democrats are trying to keep Sen. Joe Manchin in power in West Virginia. In Kentucky, Democrats are trying to retake the legislature and would love to oust Matt Bevin...

A University of California, Berkeley Student Senator proposed that all student government funding for the Berkeley College Republicans be reallocated to the Black Student Union. According to The Daily Californian, Senator Rizza Estacio made an amendment to the proposed budget allocations to student organizations and university groups which would eliminate the $1,000 funding for the BCR and add it to the budget for the BSU. Estacio said that her reasoning for the reallocation is because the BCRs “have violated a lot of, like, lead center rules during like free speech week,” adding that because of this, the organization does not...

Randa Jarrar, the Fresno State University tenured professor who demonized Barbara Bush shortly after her death and mocked her critics by pointing out that she has tenure and cannot be fired from her six-figure job shaping young minds, ought to become a poster child for the depths to which academia has sunk. Her status is under review according to university officials, no doubt worried about alumni giving declining, so there is a decent possibility that she will become a cause célèbre on the left, should she lose her job. More attention on her would be perfect, as far as I...

In a WOWO Exclusive, Todd Hein tells us his son was shamed, bullied, and given an extra assignment by his teacher, Sarah Ford, at Blackhawk Middle School, after he cited Fox News as his source for an assignment. “She decided to walk up to him and in front of everybody, told him Fox News is fake news, it’s full of lies… and gave him a new assignment, to look up any of the ‘many lies’ Donald Trump has...

In my last column -- "The New York Times Best-Seller List: Another Reason Americans Don't Trust the Media" -- I used my recently published book as evidence that The New York Times best-seller list is not a best-seller list. I pointed out that the book, "The Rational Bible: Exodus," the first volume of my commentary on the first five books of the Bible (the Torah), did not appear on The New York Times best-seller list even though it was: --No. 2 on the Wall Street Journal nonfiction best-seller list. --No. 2 on the Publishers Weekly nonfiction best-seller list. --No. 2...

Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio? Or George Washington Or Daniel Boone or Alvin York or George Patton or... Paul Mann wants to create a safe space for white men. Mann, a white man who has spent years in the education industry, has begun leading workshops in San Francisco that encourage people in his demographic to explore feelings about race and gender and think about how to better assist women and nonwhites in their workplaces. Most diversity training is inclusive of all races and genders. But Stepping Up, Mann’s program that began in January, is unusual because the workshops are...

A Culture of Murderous Hate at Fresno State When a university normalizes calls for the death of Republicans. April 20, 2018 Daniel Greenfield Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical left and Islamic terrorism. 2017 was a bad year at Fresno State. 2018 looks to be even worse. The next day he inquired, “Has anyone started soliciting money and design drafts for...

Left-wing indoctrination is nothing new to "blue" California but sex education has evolved from safety and science to full-blown propaganda. Every middle schooler and high schooler in California must sit through sex-ed classes that include information about birth control and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS. Students are also taught to affirmatively recognize – in other words, praise - different sexual orientations and gender identities. Parents are free to pull their kids out of the sex-ed classes but according to at least one school attorney from Orange County, they may not excuse their children from the pro-homosexual propaganda.

The new Advanced Placement U.S. History book is under fire across America for, among other scandals, portraying President Donald Trump's supporters as ignorant old racists. It also paints Trump as a racist and highlights his alleged “extremism,” without explaining what, exactly, the far-left author considers to be “extreme.” “Most thought that Trump was too extreme a candidate to win the nomination, but his extremism, his anti establishment rhetoric and, some said, his not-very-hidden racism connected with a significant number of primary voters – more voters than any other single Republican candidate,” claimed the author, without explaining how Trump could win...

Pearson spokesman, Scott Overland, told Fox News the textbook was “developed by an expert author and underwent rigorous peer review to ensure academic integrity.” He added that it was “designed to convey college-level information to high school students” and “aims to promote debate and critical thinking by presenting multiple sides” of the 2016 election..... “Most thought that Trump was too extreme a candidate to win the nomination, but his extremism, his anti-establishment rhetoric, and, some said, his not-very-hidden racism connected with a significant number of primary voters,” Fraser wrote. Trump voters are described as “mostly older, often rural or suburban,...

A New Jersey community college is investigating why a professor shouted the F-word at a student in an incident that was caught on camera. The student identifies as politically conservative, and the incident has sparked complaints about the college as a liberal atmosphere where alternative political viewpoints are not tolerated. During a Sociology 105, Intercultural Communication class Wednesday, Brookdale Community College professor Howard Finkelstein grew angry with his student, Christopher Lyle, shouted "f--- your life," and pounded his hand on a table, according to video obtained by NJ Advance Media.

A soon-to-be-released updated edition of an Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. History textbook teaches students that white Christian Americans are finding it “difficult to adjust” to becoming a minority and puts forward the perception that President Donald Trump’s election occurred because his apparent “racism connected with a significant number of primary voters.” James Fraser’s By the People: A History of the United States, 2ndEdition, is published by Pearson and has a 2019 copyright date. Alex Clark – co-host of the Indiana-based morning radio Joe and Alex Show– tweeted photos of the cover and several pages of the book that she reports...
