Chicagoans hungry to flip the bird to Rahm, nicely Some of you asked just what the scene’s like on Chick-fil-A appreciation day in Chicago, home to #ChicagoValues, and the city at the heart of the controversy over Chick-fil-A after our mayor congratulated an alderman in shutting the company out of opening a second location within the city limits. The line at 12:10pm extended down the city block from the entrance, full of Chicagoans who, it would seem, don’t share Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s definition of “Chicago Values.”One woman and her friend took up a collection at their office to buy bags of...

Aiken Public Safety is directing traffic from Whiskey Road onto East Gate Drive where motorists are attempting to turn into the Chick-fil-A parking lot in support of "Chick- fil-A Appreciation Day." Police Capt. David Turno said the franchise hired two officers earlier this week in anticipation of a large crowd. "Traffic is backed up, but the officers who were hired are out there directing the traffic," he said. Similar back-ups are being reported in North Augusta and in Atlanta. Steve Robinson, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Chick-fil-A, said in response to the overwhelming numbers of customers flooding the stores...
  • Chick-fil-A supporters pack Roanoke (VA) restaurant [with poll]

    08/01/2012 12:07:49 PM PDT · by Gopher Broke · 49 replies
By Lindsey Nair | The Roanoke Times The nationwide day of appreciation for Chick-fil-A and its ownership’s outspoken defense of a traditional view of marriage was in full force at the chain’s stand-alone restaurant outside Valley View Mall in Roanoke at lunchtime today. The restaurant was packed, with a line of people extending from the front counter, outside the doors and into the parking lot. The drive-through line, meanwhile, wrapped around the building and at one point extended back into Valley View Boulevard, with more than 30 carloads of people waiting to order. One city police officer was on hand...

I couldn't get in. Packed at 2:15pm with cars backed out to the street. Other resturants in the immediate area (McD's, Tim Hortons, Taco Bell) were dead since lunch rush was over. Seems North Western Pennsylvanians (and a few New Yorkers - saw the plates in the parking lot) decided to Eat Mor Chikin today. Officially: I estimate about 100 standing in line, 150 seated, and 30 cars at drive-thru when I was there. Talked to an employee in the restroom while trying to get my camera ready for a few photos. Dude said it's been crazy all day, and...

Today is “National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.”After intolerant and First Amendment-hating Chicago politicians blocked Chick-fil-A from building a restaurant, former Governor Mike Huckabee announced his support for the restaurant chain and its Constitutional right of free speech. He declared today Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.Allen sent this picture from west county St. Louis. Allen added: People are standing in line 100+ deep to go inside. The lines go out and around the building. Two lines of drive through cars are around the shopping center.St. Louisans also came out in huge numbers to show their support for the First Amendment. The lot was jam-packed…...

Today is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, an event semi-organized by Mike Huckabee in response to the Gay Mafia's attempt to browbeat a private citizen into silence, all because he stood up for something he believed in. Mumbles Menino and Rahmbo can kiss moral America's collective butt if the response in other Chick-fil-A restaurants is even remotely similar to what I saw just a few minutes ago at our local one. The place is being overwhelmed!! I told the manager why we were here and, after thanking us, he said that there was no way he could have prepared for such a...

IMHO, since this is a very important day of activism to show support for Chick-Fil-A and traditional marriage, I thought this thread could be used for FReeper reports and pics from their visits to Chick-Fil-A's around the country since there probably won't be much "positive" coverage from the LSM. FReepers could post their experiences and pics and maybe even "counter protest" pics. Folks should maybe remember to bring a camera (cell phone) to take pics with just in case something confrontational happens. Go FR and Chick-Fil-A!!

Late in the day for a HAPPY FATHER’S DAY but here it is. And it is a few days late (Army Birthday is Flag Day, June 14) but a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the Army. On Saturday the patriots played a numbers game with the moonbatty occupiers. We eventually had 8 while the maggots had 7. The 8 patriots this week include Veterans Glenn (USMC - Iwo Jima), Halsey (USMC - Korea), Carl (Army- Vietnam), Lurker Jim (Army- Vietnam), and [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s), along with Lurker Bill, Fraxinus and myself. Part Three and the last of catching up with my back log of missing AARs. As mentioned in Parts One and Two, a very good way to remember and honor our Marines, soldiers, sailors, airmen and coasties who have given their lives over the past 2 centuries is by getting caught up on the AARs for Olney, MD’s Support the Troops Rallies during this Memorial Day Weekend. Part of the freedom we have is being able to stand on any corner in America and have the freedom to express ourselves. The patriots in Olney stand to give voice to our...

Seems like a very good way to remember and honor our Marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen who have given their lives over the past 2 centuries is by getting caught up on the Support the Troops Rallies in Olney AARs during this Memorial Day Weekend. Part of the freedom we have is being able to stand on any corner in America and have the freedom to express ourselves. The patriots in Olney stand to give voice to our military against those who scorn and disrespect our brave military. One other thought is also paramount in our minds. We let our...

The White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night brought out not only media celebrities but also their critics. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic gathered outside of the Washington Hilton and heckled (H/T Marooned in Marin blog) attendees who walked past them or drove by. The group is known to do this every year for the past 13 WHCD's.

With regulars Fraxinus and GunsAreOK not being able to make it today, our ranks were filled in by other FReepers. Sensei Ern and Cindy_True_Supporter with her dog Augie unexpectedly showed up to make eight. Just like at Walter Reed, one never knows who actually will stop by but the good number of patriots makes for part of the Almost Perfect Rally. The 8 patriots this week include Legionnaires Halsey (USMC - Korea) and Carl (Army - Vietnam), Lurkers Bill and Jim, and Cindy_True_Supporter, Sensei Ern, [Mrs] T and myself. If you have been keeping up with the moonbats’ numbers the...

Two Saturdays, Support the Troops Rally vs a anti-troop protest, two massages, and the moonbat hypocrisy. Seems that the moonbats, aka the Quakers, aka the “quackers”, can’t seem to stay on message or be true to their beliefs. Read on and see the differences between the two weeks. WEEK 315, FEBRUARY 04,2012The 7 patriots this week include Legionnaire Halsey (USMC - Korea), Lurkers Bill and Jim, Cindy_True_Supporter, GunsAreOK, [Mrs] T and myself. A Big THANK YOU to [Mrs] T for faithfully taking picture each week. On cold days she has to keep the camera inside her jacket so the batteries...

Two weeks worth of AARs in this report. Last week got away from me. WEEK 313, JANUARY 21,2012God looked down upon us this Saturday. The night before a little over an inch of snow fell. Streets were predicted to be icy and as the morning wore on, an icy cold rain was to continue. But as I said, God was pleased with our support of the troops and the rain basically stopped. The roads were just wet and the shopping center had shoveled the corner. With the anticipated rain, we only put up the flanking flags. Plus with the snow...

I had to laugh when I opened the photobucket file for this week. [Mrs] T said that she didn’t take a lot of pictures. But only FIVE - it just made me laugh. Part of the reason was that the camera got so cold so quick that the batteries lost their umph. The other reason was [Mrs] T’s trigger finger also got real cold even though she was layered with foot and hand warmers. How cold was it? 25 degrees with a moderate wind. Do I hear violins from some of you in North Dakota? I bet you do not...
