The U.S. has bought $70,000 worth of air time on seven Pakistani television channels to air an ad showing President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton denouncing the anti-Islamic video that has sparked violent protests in the Middle East and North Africa. In the 30-second ad that began running Thursday, Obama says, "Since our founding the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate religious beliefs of others."

For the last 8 months, many news organizations have looked very casually (to put it lightly) on the Benghazi story…some journalists and news organizations have even been highly critical of those journalists or news organizations who dared to think the American people were not getting the whole story (yes, Fox News has been the subject of some sneering but we can take it …. we are big boys and big girls…and more importantly, we are also not afraid of what the media clique says about us. We do our job.) I don’t know what will shake out when we finally...

March 3, 2013 Report: FBI Benghazi Survivor Interviews Delivered to Senate Intel Committee Kerry Picket (Excerpt) A source told CBS News that FBI transcripts of interviews with Benghazi survivors were turned over to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday........ The documents that came from the White House is the second set to be sent to Congress. The initial set of documents related to the attack were considered “insufficient” due to massive redactions.... The documents that were sent on Thursday had fewer redactions. They show that e-mail correspondence reveal “talking points” that were sent around the White House, the FBI, and...

In a blockbuster report, John Solomon, the former Associated Press and Post reporter, has ferreted out the president's daily brief that informed him within 72 hours of the Sept. 11 attack that the Benghazi attack was a jihadist operation.Citing officials directly familiar with the information, Solomon writes in the Washington Guardian that Obama and other administration officials were told that "that the attack was likely carried out by local militia and other armed extremists sympathetic to al-Qaida in the region."He adds: The details from the CIA and Pentagon assessments of the killing of Ambassador Chris [Stevens] were far more...

Jihadists twice set off explosives at the consulate prior to the incident that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens, and announced threats on Facebook about escalating attacks on Western targets in the run-up to the 9/11 anniversary, according to whistleblowers reaching out to House Republicans.

A speedy, effective response by newly trained Libyan security guards to a small bombing outside the American diplomatic mission in Benghazi in June may have led United States officials to underestimate the security threat to personnel there, according to counterterrorism and State Department officials, even as threat warnings grew in the weeks before the recent attack that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. The guards’ aggressive action in June came after the mission’s defenses and training were strengthened at the recommendation of a small team of Special Forces soldiers who augmented the mission’s security force for several...

Five days before the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Libya, the U.S. state department posted an Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) memo saying there was no credible threat of violence against the U.S. for the then-upcoming September 11 anniversary. That memo has since been scrubbed from government websites. The memo read in part: "The OSAC has no credible information to suggest that Al-Qaeda or any other terrorist group is plotting any kind of attack overseas to coincide with the upcoming anniversary of September 11." Far from warning of impeding danger, the memo told U.S. personnel that increased media attention for...

On Wednesday September 12, 2012 blogger Speak With Authority discovered that five days before 9-11, the US State Department sent out a memo announcing no credible security threats against the United States on the anniversary of 9-11. The Overseas Security Advisory Council, who posted the memo, is part of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security under the U.S. Department of State. The OSAC memo said: Terrorism and Important Dates Global 9/6/2012 OSAC currently has no credible information to suggest that al-Qa’ida or any other terrorist group is plotting any kind of attack overseas to coincide with the upcoming anniversary of September...

Cindy Lee Garcia tells the website that she was hired last summer for a small part in a movie she was told would be called "Desert Warriors," about life in Egypt 2,000 years ago (Islam is about 1,400 years old). She told Gawker "It wasn't based on anything to do with religion, it was just on how things were run in Egypt. There wasn't anything about Muhammed or Muslims or anything and that, according to Gawker, "In the script and during the shooting, nothing indicated the controversial nature of the final product. Muhammed wasn't even called Muhammed; he was "Master...

The White House is disavowing a statement from their own Cairo embassy that apologized for anti-Muslim activity in the United States. "The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect the views of the United States government," a senior administration official told POLITICO. The U.S. embassy in Cairo put out a statement early Tuesday that apologized for an anti-Muslim film being circulated by an Israeli-American real estate developer. "The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts...

Nina is exactly right that the appalling statement issued by the Obama State Department, apparently prior to the storming of the U.S. embassy in Cairo today, betrays the president’s agenda to impose on Americans sharia speech suppression standards in blatant violation of the First Amendment. That, however, is far from the most egregious part of today’s episode in Egypt. To attack another country’s embassy is an act of war. Now, some will be quick to point out that our embassy was not attacked by the Egyptian regime. That is no defense. Everybody was on notice that there might be rioting...

Please forgive the vanity post, BUT I just had a terrible thought....I just heard that the hijacked airliner has landed in of all places, Aftganistan.... Is that not the home turf of Osama Bin Laden?? Remember the movie a few years back where terrorists hijacked a 747 with the intentions of crashing it into New York city or some other big city??? If Bin Laden wanted to creatate a major catastrophe, that would surely do it. I suppose the military could shoot it out of the sky, but how do they insure where it is going to land, or that...

At 8:46 AM, in New York City and at the White House in Washington DC, there was a moment of silence to remember when the first plane hit the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. In New York, the NYPD, FDNY, Port Authority Police and the families of the victims were present, while in Washington the President and the First Lady led the moment. The cable networks all carried it, with ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “CBS This Morning” carrying it as well. The only national general news program to not carry the moment of silence was NBC’s ‘Today,”...

Have you heard about the airliner which was ordered back to the gate on 9/11 when the terrorist attacks began, only to have four young Arab passengers jump off the plane, after which box cutters and Al Qaeda documents were found in their abandoned bags?

I wept, but about what precisely I cannot say. Much to my amazement, after having done everything possible to shut out the ubiquitous maudlin press coverage that engulfed the tenth anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks, I visited Michael Arad’s National September 11 Memorial in New York City—which was dedicated exactly a decade after the disaster—to find that it impressed me at once as a sobering, disturbing, heartbreaking, and overwhelming masterpiece. Arad’s inexorably powerful, enigmatically abstract pair of abyss-like pools, which demarcate the foundations of the lost Twin Towers, comes as a surprise to those of us who doubted that...

Muslims living in Western Massachusetts are diverse in their cultural origins, but their Islamic faith has made them and their places of gathering the focus of crimes in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. “I remember President George (W.) Bush at a Washington mosque saying right after 9/11 that the country had nothing against Islam but, at the grassroots level, this was not heard,” says Mohammad Saleem Bajwa, 66, a Holyoke-based internal medicine physician and pulmonologist. “The attacks on Islam have been constant. Defaming the religion, equating it with terrorism and putting all Muslims in one...

What started out as a patriotic gesture intended to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, ended up becoming a major verbal scuffle that one North Arizona University student calls “a free speech violation.” The incident, which has likely evolved into something much larger than either side originally anticipated, occurred when students were passing out American flags on their public university campus last Friday. The Arizona Daily Sun shares more about the commemorative activity:
-
What did she say about our flag? Prior to Obama running for President, Michelle Obama was an open Pro-Marxist and stated that she did not support the American Flag, our Constitution or America. her past and even current ties into the SEIU, ACORN and the Socialist Party of America are very well documented. We should ask why the major media have refused to cover such disrespect by the First Lady.

Obama and his wife while the World Trade Center American flag that survived the attack was being folded by local police and fire fighters. Watch the video until the folding of the flag is almost finished. At that point read Michelle’s big lips as she leans over to Obama and says “ALL THIS FOR A FLAG” and then shakes her head side to side in disapproval while Obama nods his approval of her statement.

Rush: "I don't know if you've seen the picture: Bush and Obama standing side by side while a memorial service is going on, prayer taking place. Bush is appropriately bowing his head. Obama is looking up at his son: God -- or, if you want, his father. But it's not an accident. Now, some people have said Obama looks like he's trying to figure out what he's gonna wear on the golf course later. But, no. Obama has this habit of looking up and looking up above everyone and Bush is bowing his head. Obama's eyes are closed looking up....

RUSH: George Bush yesterday, the 9/11 memorials. You know, a friend of mine observed this. What did Obama do? Obama went to a soup kitchen, 9/11, a day of service, as though we've got something to apologize for, for what happened on 9/11. A friend of mine observes Obama and Bloomberg both acted like it was a natural disaster. Bush, George W. Bush, who, by the way, stands tall in retrospect. Ten years, not one attack. Great statesmanship. If somebody told me today they wanted to put Bush's face on Mount Rushmore, I'd be in there supporting it. I saw...

British police allowed about a hundred jihadists chanting offensive slogans to march through central London Sunday and burn a US flag during the memorial events for the 9/11 massacres ten years ago. At the same time, a group organized by the nationalist English Defense League that gathered to lay wreaths at the U.S. Embassy in London was told to move away in order to avert a possible clash between the groups. Police used force against the EDL group. The jihadis chanted "USA – terror state!", "Burn, burn, USA!" and "Muslims rise up!" as a US flag was burned. One of...

This is the 10th anniversary of what some have said is a seminal event in our national history. I would argue it was less a seminal event, and more an awakening as to the danger posed to the West since the 17th century when the armies of Kara Mustafa – capitalizing on the previous century’s work of warlord Suleiman the Magnificent – attacked Christian armies across eastern Europe. Suleiman’s and Mustafa’s wars were Jihads against the West. And though stopped at the Gates of Vienna in 1683, that Jihad has never ceased. But the enemy has been unable to effectively...

America's economy could have collapsed after 9/11, but instead, it rebounded. Its people could have sunk into depression, but we rose to the challenge of rebuilding and supporting those who had lost so much. Taking time to commemorate the sacrifice and loss of so many Americans is fitting; many columns and programs have done so. I prefer to remember how, in the days after 9/11, Americans pulled together to bounce back. In a visit to Israel in 2005, a citizen observed, "In Israel, we respond differently to terrorist attacks. We don't make a site a memorial to those who died....

So i'm at the game last night- starting my 31st consecutive season attending every Jets home game- and in the middle of the ceremonies they announce, "here for the coin flip, the 43rd POTUS, George" i jump out of my seat and begin yelling "yeh W!!! yeh W!!!" (sadly i must've looked like my 8YO daughter at a Justin Bieber concert)...I heard a large roar from most of the stadium- a few boos, though that's when he was talking to Romo...even later, in the 2nd half when they showed the clips, one of GWB walking to midfield there was applause...

Where did the idea of Obama come from? Let's examine an obvious, yet overlooked source: the rubble of the Twin Towers. 9/11 was the most traumatic day in American history, and its horrors left deep gashes in our national soul. We stumbled around in pain and confusion for years, groping for a magical salve to heal our wounds -- and there, suddenly, was Barack Hussein Obama. As we turn our gaze from our current Obama-induced agonies to remember the terror attacks ten years ago, let's do ourselves the favor of honesty and admit how tightly the two are connected. On...

I don't know about other FReepers, but I am sick and tired of the 9/11 memorials. Maybe you read my headline and thought I am an insensitive jerk, a troll, a liberal or a lunatic who doesn't have the sense to realize the importance of marking this day appropriately. You'd be 180 degrees wrong and that's just my point. I mean I'm sick and tired of the way this day is remembered. I mean the weepy, maudlin preoccupation with the "tragedy" of 9/11. Of course, I don't mean that there should be no solemn observance to pay the proper respect...

This Sunday morning, September 11, as I surf through the various channels covering the memorial of the worse onshore terrorist attack in history upon the United States, I am wondering if any of the media will actually show the Moslem piloted planes crashing into the Twin Towers, but, so far, no. At the Pentagon, I can hear a reverential Amazing Grace sung by a military choir as several men of the cloth of various denominations, sects, and creeds recite prayers to Almighty God. In Shanksville, Pa., where Flight 93 dove and disappeared deep into the ground, they are also singing...

Ten years ago tomorrow, some incredibly evil people made a senseless attack on the United States, killing approximately 3000 people, for no good reason. In the past I have attributed some of this evil to Islam and have been taken to task for it. I have concluded that the problem is not primarily Islam. It is the wanton and savage tribal cultures that predated Islam. The cultures have persisted despite, not because of, the advent of Islam. Deuteronomy 25:17-19 states: 17] Remember what Amalek did to you on your journey, after you left Egypt- 18] how, undeterred by fear of...

Obama is so used to assuming the position that he thinks “bow and spear” in Psalm 46 means he’s supposed to bend at the waist. As Freeper ExSabotSender noted, “If he had been familiar with text he would have know that Bow – is a reference to a weapon of war like in bow & arrow. Two more weapons of war follow in verse 9 – the spear & chariot. Instead he pronounced the word as Bow – to been at the waist, the front of a boat, or limb of a tree.” Guess they didn’t teach that verse at...

British and Americans lay wreaths at a ceremony in London. Mobs of Islamofascists show up to shout threats, curse America, burn our flag, and threaten jihad. What do London Police do? Nothing to the jihadists, but they force the memorial ceremony to end and its participants to leave, to avoid an "incident." So much for freedom of speech. Shame on you, Britain. It's terrible to see a once great nation die at the hands of political correctness. VIDEO

A decade and a day ago, you could describe a guy as being tall, Muslim, from the Bronx, and no one's eyes would start darting. Back then, the word "Muslim" was merely an adjective. Today it's an accusation. An allegation. An affront. One that we as Americans actually feel compelled to respond to, like cooties on the playground. An allegation that, if it's actually true, makes you want to hang your head in shame, like being called a fatso. Our President was repeatedly accused of being Muslim. Whole foods was recently accused of celebrating Ramadan by introducing its "Saffron Road"...

There’s a memorial in Brooklyn that honors all the first responders that were killed on Sept. 11 called the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance. There are 417 faces of first responders that were lost that day. Back in 2006, they had completed about one-third of that memorial and they ran out of money. A firefighter friend of mine took me out to see it and I offered to try and help them raise the additional money to complete the memorial. They liked that idea, so we put a concert together at Brooklyn College where my band, Lieutenant Dan Band, played, and...

Original title: 100 protesters burn American flag outside U.S. embassy in London during minute's silence for 9/11 Protesters set fire to the U.S. flag outside the American embassy in London today during a minute's silence to mark the moment the first hijacked airliner hit the World Trade Centre. A group of 100 Muslim radicals, including members of Muslims Against Crusades, shouted 'USA terrorists' and brandished anti-American placards. One protester in Grosvenor Square said: 'You will always face suffering, you will always face humiliation, unless you withdraw your troops from Muslim lands.' I still have my unused airline ticket from September 11, 2001, ten years ago today. My wife and I had flown to Washington for a week’s vacation that included a White House tour, a visit with our Congressman, and some play time in the Atlantic Ocean. We were driving our rental car back to the airport late that Tuesday morning to catch our flight home when we heard the news that changed all of us. This tenth anniversary will remind every American of their personal story of that morning and the quandary of trying to comprehend such ultimate viciousness. My...

Nothing is over about 9/11, but the national consciousness pretends it is so.A couple of months ago, when Howard Stern took a couple of weeks off from his morning radio show, Sirius radio replayed “The History of Howard Stern, Part Four,” the final installment of which consists mostly of generous excerpts from the Stern show for September 11, 2001, beginning a few minutes before the first plane hit the World Trade Center. It was nothing less than riveting to listen to. (Unsurprisingly, it turns out that that day’s program is available in its entirety on YouTube.) On the show, Howard...

Governor Palin: Ten Years Ago Posted on September 11 2011 - 11:28 AM - Posted by: Stacy Drake Via Facebook: Ten years ago today, ordinary Americans went to work or boarded a plane and found themselves fighting on the frontlines of a battle they did not choose. They acquitted themselves with grace and courage, just as the thousands of men and women who enlisted to fight in our armed forces—many on the anniversaries of this day—in order to exact justice for their fellow Americans. We will never forget those who died ten years ago today, we will never forget those...

One 9/11 is enough. As should be evident to anyone who is not in denial and is willing to credit the evidence mounting by the day, the West is now under siege. Paradoxically, it appears to be increasingly at the mercy not only of radical Islam, but of its own anomie and its blatant philistinism. Indeed the former preys relentlessly upon the latter as it does upon the ineluctable corollary of cultural weakness, the presumably tolerant and progressive ethos of so-called “liberal” thinking. “Something stirs in the East, a sleepless malice” says one of the characters in The Lord of the...

It was a fitting tribute to salute their fallen colleagues, as 343 flags were carried by an honour guard for each one of the firemen who died on 9/11. Firemen from across the U.S. gathered in Manhattan, New York, around St Patrick's Cathedral, as a memorial service was held after an honour guard had marched down Fifth Avenue. The largest fire department in the U.S. held the ceremony as part of a weekend of events commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks that devastated America in 2001.
