We try to be polite in talking about our political opponents, but sometimes it is impossible. Some of them are–there is no other way to put it–morons. Such as Senator Mazie Hirono, Democrat from Hawaii. I can’t find a good clip of her comments during Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on bump stocks, but here is a report: Hirono began her opening remarks by referencing an earlier hearing in which the “entire panel” of witnesses agreed that “this nation is awash in guns.”She went on to stress the phrase “awash in guns” at least three more times, then said, “Meanwhile,...

While everyone is excited by President-elect Trump that he would like to see a national concealed carry reciprocity bill passed, let us remember that this is not how we make laws, rather it is Congress' job. Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses the good news as there is already a piece of legislation, sponsored by Thomas Massie, which would do exactly that. And now that the GOP is in control why not get this bill passed into law?

During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday Sen. Mazie Hirono (D) claimed the Supreme Court of the United States created the ability to own guns via Heller (2008). In video published by Forbes, Hirono began her opening remarks by referencing an earlier hearing in which the “entire panel” of witnesses agreed that “this nation is awash in guns. She went on to stress the phrase “awash in guns” at least three more times, then said, “Meanwhile, the Supreme Court in various decisions, Heller was pretty much an astounding decision to me when suddenly, individual could, [under] the Second Amendment,...

Two home invasions, one in Texas and the other in Florida, were thwarted this past weekend when armed citizens acted to save themselves from violent intruders. On Friday evening, police in DeSoto, Texas were called out to a home after a woman frantically called 911 to report a strange man carrying a handgun was trying to break into her home. The 911 operator could hear screaming and yelling on the call as the man, later identified as Octavio Flores Mondragon, attempted to force his way in through the garage, and several neighbors simultaneously called 911 about reported gunshots, the release...

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul wasted little time in appealing Judge Stephen McGlynn's decision striking down the state's ban on so-called assault weapons and large-capacity magazines, filing notice with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals just hours after McGlynn's decision was released on Friday afternoon. McGlynn stayed his decision for 30 days to allow for Raoul's appeal, so for now the prohibitions remain in effect. A three-judge panel on the Seventh Circuit previously indicated in a 2-1 decision that, in its view, the bans pass constitutional muster, but it's unclear whether that same panel will hear Raoul's appeal this time...

A federal judge in the Southern District of Illinois issued a permanent injunction Friday enjoining the state from enforcing the “assault weapons” ban contained in the Protect Illinois Communities Act (PICA). The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) was among the plaintiffs in the case. SAF founder Alan Gottlieb responded to the decision, calling Friday “a great day for gun rights.” The judge’s order allows 30 days before the injunction goes into force, giving the state that period of time in which to file an appeal.

Harris, 60, replaced President Biden, 81, atop the Democratic ticket in late July and quickly surged in polling while raking in about $1 billion over a six-week period — massively out-raising Trump, 78, and providing the resources to drive home her early advantage over the Republican nominee. Her failure to seal the deal outraged Democrats, including those who worked in the Biden-Harris administration and on her campaign. “I’ve worked on five presidential campaigns. I knew this would be hard. Others acted like they knew they were going to win,” said one person who chipped in during the final stretch of...

Joe Rogan’s interview with Donald Trump has been viewed at least 42 million times on YouTube since November 1st, 2024. That number does not include people watching/listening on Spotify or X, where the interview is also available. The most dangerous opponent of the Second Amendment, the Bill of Rights, and limited government in the United States has not been advocacy groups such as “The National Council to Control Handguns,” which, after several name changes, ended up as “The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence”; or the heavily funded “Everytown for Gun Safety.”The most dangerous opponent has been the old, dominant, Progressive...

Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats claim they are the party of freedom. In Harris’ interview on Club Shay Shay on Monday, she argued that people need to vote for her to preserve the First, Second, and Fourth Amendments, that Trump “wants to terminate the Constitution.” Yet, on the First Amendment, Harris previously called for government “oversight or regulation” of social media to stop what she calls misinformation. In 2022, her vice-presidential nominee, Gov. Tim Walz, claimed: “There’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech.” On gun ownership, Harris went so far as claiming: “I am in...

Under the Biden-Harris Administration, there has been an unconstitutional and relentless attack on the Second Amendment rights and privacies of American citizens. In September 2023, gun-grabbing organizations and far Left politicians including New York Attorney General Letitia James cheered on the creation of a new Merchant Category Code (MCC) for firearms retailers within the payment processing system.... The creation of MCCs specifically for firearms retailers is weaponizing the financial system against lawful gun owners by seeking to label and track transactions on firearms and ammunition. To counteract this infringement on our rights, we introduced the Protecting Privacy in Purchases Act.......

Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that this was a “change election,” in which voters want to “turn the page.” Host Kristen Welker said, “Let’s start off by talking about the results of our latest poll. Senator, 66% of voters believe the country is on the wrong track. As you know, historically, incumbent parties don’t win re-election when the number is that high. Do you believe that Vice President Harris should have distanced herself more from President Biden and sooner?”

Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, Tim Walz and JD Vance all have something in common. All four of them, along with an estimated 42% of American adults, have lived in a home with at least one gun.Gun ownership in the United States is widespread and cuts across all sorts of cultural divides – including race, class and political ideology. Like all mass experiences in American life, owning a gun can mean very different things to different people. One thing that American gun owners tend to agree on, no matter their differences, is that guns are for personal protection. In a 2023 Pew...

In a complex deal marked by boardroom drama, regulatory hurdles, and political intrigue, Vista Outdoor’s ammunition division, known as the Kinetic Group, is on the verge of being acquired by Czechoslovak Group (CSG), a Czech-based conglomerate. Set to conclude by late November, this $2.15 billion sale has been met with mixed reactions... The implications of the sale go beyond simple economics. Kennedy notes that the deal was not only contentious but introduced potential shifts in the manufacturing landscape... For many, the sale represents a potential loss of American oversight over ammunition production at a critical time, ... The sale of...

Federal prosecutors on Tuesday slapped three men with carjacking charges, saying they took a man’s car at gunpoint from a Far South Side gas station. Two of the men are accused of trying to carjack another driver but they couldn’t figure out how to operate the victim’s vehicle. Long time readers will remember we advocated for a version of Operation Exile here in Illinois, where gun offenders were essentially "exiled" to federal prisons far away from their families and gang compatriots in the state penitentiaries. In Virginia, where it was pioneered, gun crimes dropped by over a third within months...

The Biden-Harris administration used social media on Wednesday to renew the push to ban AR-15s and similar rifles. The White House posted to X: President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have consistently pushed a ban against America’s most popular rifle–the AR-15–throughout the tenure of their administration. Moreover, Harris, as the Democrat presidential candidate, has continued to push the ban as part of her campaign. Her running mate, Democrat Tim Walz, also supports the gun control.

The United States Virgin Islands exists as a United States territory. As an entity that is not a state, it has higher rates of homicide than any state. The homicide rates for the US Virgin Islands are about 7.8 times as high as the average homicide rate for the United States. It has one of the highest illegal homicide rates in the world.Extreme restrictions on the ownership and use of firearms in the US Virgin Islands are more restrictive than in any state since the implementation of the Bruen decision by the Supreme Court. The Bruen decision was published on...

Vice President Kamala Harris delivered a long list of old lies in her “closing argument” speech in Washington, DC, on Tuesday night, defying fact-checkers and repeating false claims that had already been debunked during the campaign. Here are the most egregious of Harris’s false claims: 1. Then-President Donald Trump “sent an armed mob to the United States Capitol to overturn the will of the people.” Trump did not send a “mob”; he told his supporters to march “peacefully and patriotically” to the Capitol. Rioters were already there — but they were not “armed” with guns. Only five rioters were ultimately...

On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) said that he thinks it’s sensible for 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris to argue for “fairer tax rates” but “I don’t know what the right number is” for what would be a fair tax rate. Co-host Joe Kernen asked, “So, Governor, just, if we went on a checklist, you like all the things that — you like Kamala Harris, not just against. So, what are — let me ask you, do you believe we should abolish the filibuster? … How about getting rid of...

Authorities in Onslow County, North Carolina have cleared a woman of any potential charges after she shot and killed her ex-boyfriend as he was attempting to break into her home while she and her two children were inside, ruling her actions a justified act of self-defense. According to officials, 28-year-old Colton Bush had an active Domestic Violence Protective Order that prohibited him from having any contact with the woman, but on the evening of Sunday, October 8th he called his ex more than two dozen times while sending her dozens of text messages as well. The messages stopped shortly after...
