As you go forward into a future full of many tomorrows... Yeah, lame. However, probably no more lame than what graduating college students are hearing at the commencement speeches of various Democrat 2020 presidential hopefuls according to Politico. It was the sad assessment of David Siders and Daniel Strauss writing in the normally Democrat-friendly publication on July 1 that 2020 hopefuls get failing grade for commencement speeches. Their subtitle got into a bit more detail as to why the failing grade: "In place of soaring rhetoric and enduring oratory, college graduates got a dose of banality" [emphasis mine]:

If you want to read an uplifting commencement address, one that is not bitter and self-absorbed or nasty and partisan, as all too many have been this season, Vice President Mike Pence gave a lovely graduation address at Hillsdale College. Pence praised "our great inheritance" as Americans: You are an extraordinary group of men and women who have accomplished extraordinary things in your time here, and you’ve only just begun. You are 366 strong, you represent 37 states and five countries, and you’ve persevered through one of the most challenging and transformative educations in the country. Although it seems, at...

Academy. He told the incoming naval officers, “you are winners, you are warriors.” Trump praised the resolve of the U.S. armed forces and America’s achievements, stating: Our ancestors trounced an empire, tamed a continent and triumphed over the worst evils in history. We are not going to apologize for America. We are going to stand up for America. This is shameless nationalism. Isn’t it great? Show me a nation or a people that has prevailed over determined adversaries without this sort of pride in its ancestors and its history. After his speech, Trump shook the hand of every graduate, more...

RUSH: So Hillary got some kind of a human rights, civil rights, plug-it-up rights, I don’t know what it was, at Yale, and she donned an old Soviet hat. She can’t get over it. She’s still whining and crying, and yet here’s Obama saying, “If you start whining before the game’s even over, if things are going badly, you start blaming somebody else, you don’t have what it takes to be in this job.” Hello, Hillary Clinton. Well, she doesn’t have what it takes to be in the job. She never has had what it takes to be in the...

Hillary Clinton says she’s “still” not over the 2016 election, and she showed it Sunday during a speech at Yale — cracking a joke about Kremlin interference and busting out a large Russian hat to boot. “If you can’t beat them, join them,” Clinton quipped. The jab came during her commencement speech at Yale’s Class Day. Keeping up with the university’s longstanding tradition of bringing an “over the top hat” to the ceremony, Clinton pulled out a black Ushanka and playfully went to put it on. “I see looking out at you that you are following the tradition of over-the-top...
