Mike Pence in Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate — despite having home field advantage in Farmville, Virginia — raising new doubts about Hillary Clinton. Those doubts are twofold: first, about her decision to choose so weak a candidate, who seemed unable to answer basic policy questions; and second, about Clinton’s health, since if her medical troubles are as bad as feared, Kaine may be taking over at some point if she is elected. I watched the entire debate and I believe Governor Pence won hands down. I also noticed some things that were said that requires some background commentary.

Well, if there was one thing that was obvious, besides Gov. Mike Pence winning the vice presidential debate, it was that Sen. Tim Kaine had an appalling inability to shut the hell up. Pence won handily over Kaine, who often waffled as he tried to attack Trump—and place pressure on Pence to defend his running mate’s past remarks. Pence didn’t take the bait. Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer discussed with Megyn Kelly which candidate he thought won the debate. "Unfortunately, the big loser was the moderator," he said. Krauthammer said CBS News journalist Elaine Quijano "lost control very early" and allowed Tim Kaine and Mike Pence to talk over eachother. "Toward the end you were getting really good exchanges...and she would say 'we have to go on to another subject'--to which I would say 'why?'," Krauthammer said, adding that the discussion itself was more important than "hitting all the points".

A CNN poll comprised of 472 registered voters believes Gov. Mike Pence won last night’s vice presidential debate. A no-brainer, really. Sen. Tim Kaine was disrespectful, erratic and rehearsed compared to the calm, eloquent and poised Pence. It did not go well for Tim Kaine. He was seriously outgunned by his own determination to not have an actual debate but to get in as many scripted hit lines as possible. He could not stop interrupting Pence, over and over again. He vacillated between looking like a deer in headlights or Howdy Doody, with a silly grin on his face. But his interruptions were the key to his failure.
