Leaders of the Republican Party have begun internal deliberations over what would be fundamental changes to the way its presidential nominees are chosen, a recognition that the chaotic process that played out this year is seriously flawed and helped exacerbate tensions within the party. In a significant shift, Republican officials said it now seemed unlikely that the four states to vote first would all retain their cherished place on the electoral calendar, with Nevada as the most probable casualty. Party leaders are even going so far as to consider diluting the traditional status of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina...

Washington State holds its Republican primary on Tuesday, and with one candidate left in the race, there's not too much drama about the outcome. But in a twist — and what would the 2016 race be without a twist? — 40 of Washington's 41 delegates selected Saturday to attend the Republican National Convention in July are Ted Cruz partisans. Cruz supporters outnumbered Donald Trump supporters at the state GOP convention in Pasco, and they were better organized, pushing through the Cruz slate of delegates over occasional protests from Trump backers, who noted repeatedly that Cruz is no longer in the...

After Ted Cruz dropped out of the presidential race, his campaign staffers boxed up their mementos and souvenirs as they prepared to shutter the Houston headquarters, and the Texan announced that he would seek reelection to the U.S. Senate. Yet Cruz’s team didn't abandon the race for the White House entirely. It still filed a slate of potential presidential delegates for California’s June 7 primary, and continues to monitor delegate selection in states that already voted in the GOP nominating process. The end result is that Cruz will have more than 550 loyalists attending the Republican National Convention in Cleveland...

#NeverTrump withers. If #NeverTrump was on a stretcher, its doctor would be saying “call it” and looking up at the clock right about now. When Cruz left the race it seemed like the movement might have legs, but whatever life it once held has been steadily bleeding out ever since. As Trump gets stronger (and polls better) the odds that #NeverTrumpers could achieve their goals have all but collapsed. Now, one of #NeverTrump’s top dogs is wandering away from the effort. Mitt Romney - a man who knows a thing or two about suspending campaigns - has decided it’s time...

Many were probably just hoping for a brokered convention to derail the New York businessman. These “experts” were not simply wrong, they were drop-dead wrong. Trump will not only reach the number of delegates it takes to win the nomination outright on Tuesday June 7th, he has won the most primary votes of any GOP presidential candidate in modern history. Based on astute political analysis, who would have guessed? From Gateway Pundit: George W. Bush won 10.8 million votes in the 2000 Republican primary. Donald Trump has won 11.1 million votes so far this year. Donald Trump won Oregon tonight...

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to the list put forth by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump of who he is considering to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court should he be elected president.

The New York Times’ front-page article last Saturday on Donald J. Trump’s dealings with women forced me into a weekend of self-examination. As much as I support Trump, this isn’t a cult of personality. He’s not Mao, Kim Jong-un or L. Ron Hubbard. We can like our candidates, but still acknowledge their flaws. No one’s perfect.

Donald Trump further cemented his claim after winning big in Oregon on Tuesday ....promising during his Eugene rally to carry the state during the general election. If Trump manages that feat, he’d be the first Republican to win Oregon in the general election since Ronald Reagan in 1984. “Congratulations to THE MOVEMENT,” Trump tweeted... “We've just won THE GREAT STATE OF OREGON. The vote percentage is higher than anticipated! Thank you.” [67%] William Joseph Fields ... was a LIFELONG DEMOCRAT before he SWITCHED HIS PARTY AFFILIATION ...TO SUPPORT TRUMP. “I was a complete and utter Bernie supporter,” he said standing...

Former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore, who also once ran the RNC, was one of the original candidates running against Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination. Now, Gilmore has a major announcement to make: He is officially endorsing Donald Trump for President! While Gilmore’s campaign never gained traction, he is popular in the key state of Virginia and could be helpful with working with the Republican establishment to help bring them on board during these critical weeks before the RNC convention in Cleveland, Ohio. Appearing on “CNN Newsroom” With Brooke Baldwin, Gilmore said that part of Trump’s appeal has been...

Donald Trump entered his pow wow with House Speaker Paul Ryan Thursday in the driver's seat, emboldened by a new poll that shows voters want the Republican Party to be more like the real estate tycoon, not the 2012 vice presidential nominee. Rasmussen reported: "Nearly half (47%) of GOP voters now believe the Republican Party should be more like Trump than like Ryan. Thirty-two percent (32%) disagree and say the GOP should be more like Ryan. Seventeen percent (17%) opt for neither."

Fresh off a big win in the West Virginia primary, Sen. Bernard Sanders’ campaign said Wednesday the Democratic Party would be courting “disaster” if it nominates Hillary Clinton as its presidential nominee. In a fundraising email to supporters, Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver cited recent polls showing the Vermont senator performing better against Republican Donald Trump in general election match-ups. Recent surveys have shown Mrs. Clinton virtually tied with Mr. Trump in the key battleground states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. Citing those troubling figures, Mr. Weaver said the Democratic Party — and its superdelegates who are free to support...

Ted Cruz supporters, and I am one, have a decision to make. My story on this decision starts on May 20, 2014, the night I had the great good fortune to attend a small dinner with Sen. Ted Cruz, to talk strategy and policy. Personally, I was skeptical of him and his chances in a potential presidential bid, which fluttered over the entire conversation like a smart, subtle butterfly.

Former Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz returned to his job in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday with a warning to Washington that the turbulent primary race was a wake-up call. "All across this country people are hungry for change. This election cycle should be a wake-up call to Washington, D.C.," the senator from Texas said outside his office. "The frustration and volcanic anger with Washington was echoed throughout this election." Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders have upended expectations in their respective presidential campaigns, tapping into voter anger at establishment politicians in Washington. Cruz, a...

According to Bing's delegate count Trump has 1135 delegates!

If you have an hour to spare, you can watch this. I'll take this with a grain of salt. The guy could be a crackpot....or he could be a prophet. But I also know God does like to use unlikely people to do His work. Donald Trump to do the good work of God is as unlikely you can get! We will see. If God is behind it, I can support Trump rather than just vote for him to stop Hillary.
-
Currently Bing is projecting that Trump gets 1471 delegates going into the convention or roughly 60% of the delegates. There is that pesky problem that Trump cannot get above 50% again.
