Hillary Clinton empathized Monday with voters who say the 2016 election is too bitter and contentious, and said at a rally that the race this year for the White House has been depressing at times. "Politics can be discouraging," the Democratic nominee said at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania. "This election in particular can be downright depressing sometimes," she said, adding that, "it matters, it really does" that good people run for office and implement good laws.

A knife-wielding man who injured eight people at a mall in central Minnesota Saturday evening asked at least one victim whether they were Muslim and referenced Allah during the assault, authorities said Wednesday. St. Cloud Police Chief William Blair Anderson said the suspect, whom he did not identify, was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer from another jurisdiction. All but one of the eight victims had been treated and released from a local hospital and all were expected to survive their injuries. Developing – Earlier today there was a detonation of explosive device in New Jersey. Currently Firefighters are at the scene of an explosion in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood, and another in Charlottesville Virginia. The Fire Department of New York said there were reports of 15 patients, all with minor injuries, and there were no reports of fatalities.

The deals in question are the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the U.S. and the European Union and the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) for the Canadian-EU relationship.
