Holding up a copy of the U.S. Constitution to make his point, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) said that a Republican-introduced gun bill will prevent terrorists from obtaining weapons while not infringing on Americans’ due process and Second Amendment rights. “There isn’t a person in Congress that wants a terrorist to get a gun. But we also want to make sure that we do not undermine those ongoing terrorist investigations that law enforcement is conducting,” Ryan said Wednesday at the Republican National Committee (RNC) in Washington. […] Ryan characterized the Homeland Safety and Security Act, which House Majority Leader Rep....

In a city awash in violence, where a homicide or two is reported every few days, Maj Toure believes more guns – in the hands of the right people – could help stem the bloodshed. “The good guys -- the people that want to be more informed, more responsible, that want to be card-carrying good guys and girls -- those are the people that we’re talking to,” said Toure, a North Philly native and rapper. It's a similar message to the one espoused by the powerful lobbyist the National Rifle Association, which responded to calls for stricter gun control laws...

On the heels of the San Bernardino massacre, where terrorists entered a gun-free zone to slaughter their unarmed victims, California Gov. Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown signed legislation making it more difficult for law-abiding Americans to defend themselves. In the liberal mind, that doesn’t matter. It’s “gun violence”, not gang violence or terrorist violence. So let’s pass laws that would not have prevented San Bernardino: The Democratic governor signed six bills Friday requiring gun owners to give up magazines holding more than 10 rounds and to undergo a background check before they can purchase ammunition, among other measures… Read more: http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/07/california_bites_the_bullet_with_background_checks.html#ixzz4Dk9BAJbu Follow...

Matt Damon praised Australia’s gun laws while promoting his latest gun-toting Jason Bourne film in that country. “You guys did it here in one fell swoop, and I wish that could happen in my country, but it’s such a personal issue for people that we cannot talk about it sensibly,” the diminutive star said while pandering his way through the former British prison colony. (VIDEO-AT-LINK) “Obviously, mass shootings aren’t going to do it. There have been so many of them at this point. Sandy Hook — when those children were murdered — if that didn’t do it, you know, I...

Hollywood actor Matt Damon used a press conference in Australia over the Fourth of July weekend to discuss his desire for a massive confiscation of U.S. guns. “You guys did it here in one fell swoop [in 1996] and I wish that could happen in my country, but it’s such a personal issue for people that we cannot talk about it sensibly,” Mr. Damon said during a promotional engagement in Sydney for the movie “Jason Bourne.” The action star went on to say people get too “emotional” when it comes to “not selling AK47s to people on terror watchlists.” Mr....

The gun control fight picked back up in the House of Representatives on Tuesday after Democrats staged a dramatic sit-in demanding action on the issue that lasted more than 24 hours on the chamber floor late last month following the mass shooting in Orlando, Fla. Speaker Paul Ryan said last week that the House will vote on a larger anti-terrorism package that includes legislation aimed at preventing suspected terrorists from getting their hands on firearms. But the proposal is unlikely to satisfy Democrats who want stricter measures, like expanded background checks, to be put into place. Minority Leader Nancy...

You do realize that we have a political front runner for president who is hostile toward the constitution, anti-gun, privileged, not to mention lying and nasty and seemingly above the law who may come to power as the president of the US who exhibits every quality of every nasty dictator of the last 100 years or more?

Gun-toting action star Matt Damon of The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, and The Departed, says he wishes the U.S. would implement a gun ban similar to the one Australia implemented in the 1990s. Appearing in Sydney, Australia, for his latest gun-toting action film, Jason Bourne, Damon praised Australia’s gun ban and said he wishes the U.S. would follow the Aussies’ lead. According to Stuff, Damon said, “You guys did it here in one fell swoop and I wish that could happen in my country, but it’s such a personal issue for people that we cannot talk...

This 22-shot repeating air rifle is an original Girardoni military pattern rifle of the type used on the Lewis & Clark Expedition. It is a butt reservoir piece with a bore size of .462 caliber. Similar pieces were supplied by Bartolomeo Girardoni to the Austrian army circa 1780. As originally issued, each Girardoni air rifle had three detachable air reservoirs, each requiring about 1,500 strokes of a pump to completely pressurize the reservoir. Once filled to operating pressure (about 800 psi) the air rifle could fire up to 70 shots before the reservoir required replacing. A metal tube on the...

Waiting on a routine flight from Sacramento back to Santa Barbara, Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif., discovered he was a terrorist. Or at least that’s what the FBI thought. McClintock was clearly more of a frequent flyer than radical extremist. But a classic case of mistaken identity, not ties to terrorism, landed him on the FBI’s no-fly list. A well-known state senator at the time, McClintock was left stranded at the Sacramento International Airport about 10 years ago. He couldn’t fly home under his own name.

This July 4, let's not mince words: American independence in 1776 was a monumental mistake. We should be mourning the fact that we left the United Kingdom, not cheering it. Of course, evaluating the wisdom of the American Revolution means dealing with counterfactuals. As any historian would tell you, this is a messy business. We obviously can't be entirely sure how America would have fared if it had stayed in the British Empire longer, perhaps gaining independence a century or so later, along with Canada. But I'm reasonably confident a world in which the revolution never happened would be better...

The high-capacity gun magazine ban goes into effect July 1, 2017, and the language of the ban – contained in SB 1446 – leaves no question as to the limited options for owners of such magazines: A person who, prior to July 1, 2017, legally possesses a large-capacity magazine shall dispose of that magazine by any of the following means: (1) Remove the large-capacity magazine from the state. (2) Prior to July 1, 2017, sell the large-capacity magazine to a licensed firearms dealer. (3) Destroy the large-capacity magazine. (4) Surrender the large-capacity magazine to a law enforcement agency for destruction.

This weekend Milo Yiannopoulos joined the Russia Today Network to talk about Donald Trump, globalists, guns and the threat of Islam to gay people everywhere. Milo declared Donald Trump the most pro-gay candidate in American electoral history. Yiannopoulos predicted that 50% of gays will vote for Donald Trump in this year’s election. Breitbart.com reported: “ Breitbart Tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos appeared on Russia Today to discuss presidential nominee Donald Trump, the conservative change in the gay community following the Orlando shooting and why Islam is a danger to gay people everywhere. “What’s interesting about Trump is the message that he...

June 2016 saw the most FBI gun background checks of any June since the current system went into effect. The agency reported on Sunday that it processed more than 2.1 million gun related checks in June, an increase of more than 600,000 over the previous record set last year. That makes June the 14th month in a row to see a new background check record, including every month of 2016. This year is on pace to break 2015’s record for most checks in a year.

Once again the American people are being inundated with the fallacy that more restrictive gun control legislation is necessary to protect us and keep us safe. As usual, liberals are doing all they can to take our guns in order to protect us from us, or rather them from the Constitution. We hear that it’s “for the children,” a standard and thoroughly fraudulent claim by the left to divide the country on the 2nd Amendment. The left champion narratives about “assault rifles” and “weapons of war” to instill fear in those who know nothing of firearms. A week ago, congressional...

Our organizations and many others have called on Congress to provide the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with funding for research into the causes and prevention of gun violence. In addition, we published a joint editorial on gun violence in the Annals of Internal Medicine. These unspeakable acts highlight gun violence as a grim and increasing public health epidemic that kills approximately 91 Americans every day. THIS MUST STOP.

The FDA is stockpiling military weapons — and it’s not alone AMERICA’S GUN CULTURE has been a subject of intense interest and controversy for years, with concerns frequently raised about shadowy militias, paramilitary extremists, and unstable zealots in possession of alarming quantities of explosives and firearms. Amid the current din over assault weapons and body armor, consider one domestic organization’s fearsome arsenal of military-style equipment. In the space of eight years, the group amassed a stockpile of pistols, shotguns, and semiautomatic rifles, along with ample supplies of ammunition, liquid explosives, gun scopes, and suppressors. In its cache as well are...

An elite Manhattan school is teaching white students as young as 6 that they’re born racist and should feel guilty benefiting from “white privilege,” while heaping praise and cupcakes on their black peers. Administrators at the Bank Street School for Children on the Upper West Side claim it’s a novel approach to fighting discrimination, and that several other private New York schools are doing it, but even liberal parents aren’t buying it. They complain the K-8 school of 430 kids is separating whites in classes where they’re made to feel awful about their “whiteness,” and all the “kids of color”...

A constitutional rights foundation has field an ethics complaint against members of the Democratic Party who staged a sit-in on the floor of the U.S. House recently in protest or the Republican-led House’s unwillingness to consider gun-control legislation. The ethics complaint came from the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust shortly after a couple dozen Democrat members of Congress took over the House floor and literally sat down for a day. It complains the Democrats were using the opportunity to send fundraising emails from the floor, and they were using official House images. The Hill reported House ethics rules bar...

If U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has his way the United Nations will be able to say if Americans are allowed to have their Second Amendment rights. He signed an anti-gun treaty with the United Nations that the U.S. Senate has already said it is against. The treaty Kerry signed without authorization from the Senate would create an un-Constitutional registry of all US gun buyers and would lead to the UN controlling American's gun rights. Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday signed a controversial U.N. treaty on arms regulation, riling U.S. lawmakers who vow the Senate will not...
