Here's a musical interpretation of Dem struggles in choosing a nominee to sacrifice to Donald Trump. Democrat Par-tee (to the tune of Memphis Tennessee, sorry, Chuck) Believe me, I struggled with altering the greatest line in Rock 'n Roll history: With hurry home drops on her cheek, that trickled from her eye. I hope Chuck Berry is OK with it. Stand up, Chuck!

The Democratic-led Virginia House of Delegates has passed legislation that seeks to award the state’s electoral votes to the presidential candidate that wins the national popular vote in an election. The measure, also known as House Bill 177, passed the legislative chamber in a 51-46 vote on Tuesday after clearing the body’s Privileges and Elections Committee in a vote last week. If the legislation is passed by the Senate, where Democrats also hold control, and signed into law by the governor, Virginia would subsequently be entered into the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. “Under the compact, Virginia agrees to award...

ROME — Pope Francis said Wednesday that weeping for one’s sins is a grace that Christians should aspire to. Reflecting on the second Beatitude — “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” — the pope said in his General Audience in the Vatican that a key dimension of this blessing is “tears for sin — for one’s own sin — when the heart bleeds from the pain of having offended God and neighbor.”

Facebook Inc said on Wednesday it has reached an agreement with news agency Reuters, a unit of Thomson Reuters Corp, to fact-check content posted on the social media platform and its photo-sharing app Instagram. Under pressure to remove fake news on its platform ahead of the U.S. presidential elections, Facebook started a U.S. pilot program in December to detect misinformation faster. A newly created unit at Reuters will fact-check user-generated photos, videos, headlines and other content for Facebook’s U.S. audience in both English and Spanish, the news agency said in a statement. Financial terms were not disclosed. Facebook works with...

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez on Wednesday said he wants to talk about caucus reform and review the status of the primary cycle to reflect a more diverse voter base and representative candidates. "I think the time is ripe for that conversation,” Perez said in an appearance on CNN. “I want to make sure that we reflect the grand diversity of our party in everything we do.” "The candidate who is going to win this race ... is the candidate who does the best job bringing together this entire diverse coalition of the Democratic Party," he said. "African American...

NEW HAMPSHIRE—After an astounding victory against Democratic rivals in the New Hampshire primaries, Bernie Sanders expressed his thanks to an adoring crowd of Bolsheviks and college students. Also present was a contingent of lying dog-faced pony soldiers, who flipped their support to Bernie after Biden’s recent gaffe. “I happen to believe,” Senator Sanders began, “that the re-education of racists and freedom lovers from the middle of the country will be essential to healing and remaking this nation. That is why I am pleased to announce that we will build our very first re-education facility right here in the great state...

As the results of the Democratic New Hampshire primary rolled in Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, NBC claimed that the supposed “moderate lane” of the liberal field was getting “a little wider,” while wondering how voters could “coalesce” around alleged “centrist” candidates and prevent socialist Senator Bernie Sanders from getting the Democratic nomination. During a brief prime time special report Tuesday night on the election results, Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd observed: “And the combined total of [Pete] Buttigieg and [Amy] Klobuchar tells you that Bernie Sanders, while winning here, has got a long way to go to build...

Pete Buttigieg, (snip) proposed Tuesday to repopulate struggling communities by offering special visas to immigrants who agree to move to those towns. The “community renewal” visas would be targeted to communities that have lost working-age population over the last 10 years as well as smaller cities that are lagging economically. Under the proposal, which is included in a rural policy plan Buttigieg unveiled while campaigning in Iowa, visa holders would be eligible to apply for green cards after living in the targeted community for at least three years. “We have a plan to help grow jobs, to help grow population,...

Attorney Michael Avenatti’s future is now in the jury’s hands in the Nike-related extortion and fraud case. The disgraced lawyer is accused of trying to extort up to $25 million from Nike by threatening to go public with evidence that the company had paid off the families of young NBA-bound athletes At 11:31 am, federal Judge Paul Gardephe sent a group of six women and six men to start deliberating. The 12 jurors need to consider if prosecutors proved that Avenatti is guilty on three counts: transmission of interstate communications with intent to extort, attempted extortion, and wire fraud. If...

A Montgomery federal court judge was elevated to a seat on a federal appeals court Tuesday after the U.S. Senate voted along party lines confirming Judge Andrew Brasher to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Brasher, who quickly rose up the ranks from Alabama’s solicitor general to a federal judgeship, was confirmed in a 52-43 vote in the Senate. His nomination faced criticism from the Alabama NAACP and other groups, who contended that he would be unfair to African Americans after he supported gutting key provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Brasher, who was nominated by President...

CHICAGO (AP) — In what’s sure to be a politically charged ceremony, more than 2,400 fetuses found last year at the suburban Chicago home of one of the Midwest’s most prolific abortion doctors will be buried Wednesday in Indiana, a state with some of the nation’s toughest anti-abortion laws. Indiana’s top law enforcement official will preside over the mass burial in South Bend. The service comes five months after relatives sorting through Dr. Ulrich Klopfer’s belongings after his Sept. 3 death came across 2,246 sets of preserved fetal remains stacked floor to ceiling in his garage. Later, 165 more were...

In early 2020, we received multiple inquiries from readers about the accuracy of a 10-month-old article which purported to highlight the left-wing ideology of Joseph Buttigieg, a prominent academic and the late father of Democratic presidential primary contender Pete Buttigieg. The article, published in April 2019 by the right-leaning Washington Examiner, was later shared on social media at a time when the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, appeared to perform well in the disputed Iowa caucuses, and joined U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders in leading the polls ahead of the New Hampshire primary on Feb. 11. The Washington Examiner piece bore...

Here's hoping 2020 is the best year yet!! Now that he has been forever acquitted, President Trump should put the failed partisan impeachment attempt behind him, then concentrate on winning the 2020 election with wide coattails. Then bide his time as the cases against the various coup plotters wind their way through the justice system. Highest priority political items: Win the election, hold the senate, take back the house!! And then continue the work of making America great again: Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all!! End DACA!! End sanctuary cities!! End anchor babies!! Well she wasn't expecting that! MSNBC's Katy Tur camped outside a Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) rally on Tuesday expecting to find some of the senator's fervent fans. But one gentleman made sure she knew he was not a Bernie bro. Not even close. Instead of praising Sanders's socialist policies, he proudly explained why he voted for Donald John Trump. "Bernie Sanders is not appealing to you?" Tur offered. Instead of responding with just a simple "no," he gave the reporter more than she bargained for. "The whole ideology would be destructive to the country," the man explained. "It's anti-growth, it's...

Last December, I received an early Christmas present that I would have rejected just one year earlier: an “M” for “male” on my driver’s license. The switch back to male marked the end of a long journey of gender confusion and self-deception. Along the way I became a transgender activist and then America’s first legally non-binary person. By Christmas Eve 2019, I was done with the lies. By God’s grace, a Portland judge granted my petition to legally restore my sex to male. This has been a five-year ordeal. I first rose to become a transgender activist in 2015, telling...

I plan on using a 5 pound hammer and steel punch to mark my ballot for Trump. We're not supposed to be vindictive or vengeful but unfortunately, that's exactly what I want. After 3 years of watching these Democrats throw down obstruction spike strips in front of Trump and after the lying cheating Democrats attempted to criminally undermine, compromise and overthrow this legitimately elected president, I'm not embarrassed to say I want revenge. I can hardly wait for the payback party, the 2nd biggest political upset in American history.

MANCHESTER, NH - Olympians know bronze feels better than silver. Now, Sen. Amy Klobuchar does too. Finishing third in New Hampshire's Democratic presidential primary Tuesday meant breathing a burst of life into her campaign and holding her most reviled rival, Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, to a second-place showing. Her home-stretch surge, fueled by a stellar debate performance Friday, appeared to be the key factor that robbed Buttigieg of the votes he needed to top Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. The surprise star turn combined with the fading of former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth...

Trump Primary numbers in Iowa and New Hampshire for un-opposed primaries are "record breaking." So who are all these voters going to participate and cast a pointless vote? I am thinking many of these voters might be "new" Trump supporters and former democrat voters. This primary voting has been advertised and pushed on democrat voters. I don't know if there is anyway to test this, but it might be an alternate explanation. It seems to be a good indicator of what is to come in November, one way or another.
