Do you ever get the feeling that news stories come and go faster than they used to? Ask anyone in the news business. It's real. The O.J. Simpson story lasted about a year. Now, it feels like there is an O.J. a week. Maybe it's the effect of staring at screens all day, jumping from snippet to snippet. Our brains have been rewired to think only in the present tense. Or maybe there is a lot more news than there used to be. Some world historic crisis hits every four days, knocking the last world historic crisis from our collective...

Video of a man “straight snoozing going 75 mph on the interstate, letting his Tesla do the work” has gone viral after being posted to Twitter on Tuesday by a musician named Seth Blake. The video, which the Wage War guitarist says was shot in California by his fiancé from the passenger seat, shows a Tesla Model 3 being driven near Los Angeles by a man with his hand on the steering wheel and his head slumped to the side, resting against the seat. "We were near or around him in traffic for about 10 minutes before we lost him....

If you thought you were looking forward to the Mueller report, consider Alan Dershowitz. A copy of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on his investigation, with an introduction by the legendary Harvard Law professor, is already climbing the sales charts at Amazon — even though the report hasn’t been (and might never be) released and Dershowitz hasn’t written a single word.

Political scientists predicted in court testimony that California would lose billions in federal funds plus at least one and possibly as many as three seats in the House — and the same number of electoral votes — if the citizenship question were to be used next year.

After the election and re-election of the country's first black president, who would have thought that, less than two years later, leading Democrats would seriously debate paying blacks reparations for slavery? Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi supports a bill that would set up a commission to consider reparations, which she says is "One of the things that we can do not only just in terms of trying to make up for a horrible, sinful thing that happened in our country in terms of slavery, but for our country to live up to who we think we are." She added: "We...

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) on Wednesday slammed former National Intelligence Director James Clapper for claiming he did not purposely lie to Congress when asked about an NSA mass surveillance program in March 2013, saying he sent the longtime intelligence official the question ahead of the hearing. “James Clapper needs to stop making excuses for lying to the American people about mass surveillance. To be clear: I sent him the question in advance. I asked him to correct the record afterward. He chose to let the lie stand,” the Oregon Democrat responded to Clapper’s excuse in a tweet.

Last week, Oregon became the first state in the nation to adopt a mandatory statewide rent control policy. Yet, rent control never delivers on the promise that it will multiply the affordable housing in high-value markets to serve middle- and lower-class families. It also always has negative consequences, and this time will be no different. The new statewide law applies to landlords who have at least four units, one of which is at least 15 years old. It prohibits them from increasing rent more than seven percent over inflation annually. The bill also prohibits no-cause evictions after the first year...

“I was the first person who ran for president without the protection of the Voting Rights Act, and I will tell you, it makes a really big difference. And it doesn’t just make a difference in Alabama and Georgia; it made a difference in Wisconsin, where the best studies that have been done said somewhere between 40 [thousand] and 80,000 people were turned away from the polls because of the color of their skin, because of their age, because of whatever excuse could be made up to stop a fellow American citizen from voting.” — Former secretary of state Hillary...

Secretary of homeland security Kirstjen Nielsen told the House Committee on Homeland Security on Wednesday that a surge in illegal immigration is underway at the southern border and will overwhelm U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents if they are not provided additional resources. In February, we saw a 30 percent jump over the previous month, with agents apprehending or encountering nearly 75,000 aliens[.] ... This is an 80 percent increase over the same time last year. And I can report today that CBP is forecasting the problem will get even worse this spring as the weather warms up....

Sen. Rand Paul loves the Constitution so much that he is willing to put it in jeopardy by opposing President Trump's emergency measures declaration. Paul's libertarian streak has emerged yet again — at a fortuitous time for Democrats hoping to import more voters and a calamitous time for conservatives desperate for a big victory on immigration. "I can't vote to give the president the power to spend money that hasn't been appropriated by Congress. We may want more money for border security, but Congress didn't authorize it. If we take away those checks and balances, it's a dangerous thing," Paul...

The images feature two T-38s from the US Air Force, flying at supersonic speeds less than nine metres (30 feet) apart, with a stream of shockwaves emanating from either side. There is also an image of one, single T-38 flying on what is described as a "knife's edge"... "We never dreamt that it would be this clear, this beautiful," says JT Heineck, a physical scientist at NASA's Ames Research Center.

The article, entitled “The Making of the Fox News White House,†suggested that the news network had become a propaganda vehicle for Trump. Here are six reasons why this is a gigantic...

He explained his motivation for writing the book. “I wrote it because I felt the literature so far had been either ra-ra fanatically pro-Trump without a lot of analysis, or had been just Trump Derangement Syndrome stuff. I felt that people who had voted for him and expected that he would govern...

Progressive firebrand Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s latest call for impeaching President Trump was brushed off by one of the top Democrats in the caucus on Wednesday. “Impeachment is premature at this moment,” Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic Caucus chair, told reporters. Ms. Tlaib announced that she will be moving later in March to have the Judiciary Committee, which is she is a new member of, begin looking into impeaching the president. She said that impeachment proceedings need to start “today.” Activists rallied with the congresswoman, and then later continued to call for impeachment outside Speaker Pelosi’s office. Despite the hesitation from...

Like most ideologies, social justice has a lexicon of its own, complete with both formal terms emanating from the academic world and terms emerging colloquially from everyday use by its adherents. The phrase "people" or "person of color" is one of these terms. "People of color" is the social justice term used to describe non-white people. On the surface, the phrase is a pleasant-sounding and politically correct way to describe non-white people. However, when digging deeper, it is clear that the phrase is Marxist in origin and meaning. Marx wanted to abolish many social institutions — the family unit, private...

Who’s the real speaker of the House? According to Fox News host Sean Hannity, it’s certainly not Nancy Pelosi. While she technically holds the title of speaker, her recent behavior suggests she’s nothing but a pawn or puppet to the party’s more radical elements, he argued Wednesday. As evidence, he pointed to her defense of anti-Semitic Muslim congresswoman Omar Ilhan. Earlier Wednesday she reportedly told Jake Sherman of Politico that the freshman congresswoman’s recent comments about Jews weren’t “intentionally anti-Semitic.” “Instead of taking punitive action, Speaker Pelosi is making excuses for the congresswoman,” Hannity noted later that evening on his...
