Just over a month ago, an organization sent the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority an advertisement it was ready to pay good money to post on the backs and sides of Metro buses. The ad used only four words: "Find the Perfect Gift." These words were spelt out in the main message of the proposed ad as well as in a web address (FindThePerfectGift.org) printed beside it. Two of the words also appeared in a social-media hashtag printed at the bottom of the ad (#PerfectGift). Now had this advertisement been produced by Macy's, Nordstrom or Target -- to draw traffic...

The US Army on 28 November began fielding its first M17 Modular Handgun System (MHS) sidearms to the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, which is to receive about 2,000 of the pistols. The 3rd Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas, and “one of the army’s new security force assistance brigades” will be next to receive the M17. The long-running MHS project, intended to replace legacy 9 mm M9 Beretta pistols, was awarded on 19 January with a total USD580.217 million ceiling. The army selected the 9 mm Sig Sauer model P320 as the M17’s basis. The contract also...

"Simon Sinek speaking about Millennials in the workplace of today, and social media addiction. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST SPEECHES THAT I’VE EVER HEARD." This youtube video is about 18 minutes long and is full of insightful observations regarding the challenges business has when managing the Millennial generation. Much of what he talks about many HR people and business managers have experienced and are trying to come to not only terms with this generation, but having to teach them a lot about how the world really works. I encourage anyone who cares to watch it...watch until the very end....

LONDON — Theresa May has condemned U.S. President Donald Trump for retweeting Islamophobic videos about Muslims posted by a leader of the British far-right. A spokesman for the prime minister said that it was "wrong" for Trump to have broadcast the footage to his 46 million Twitter followers this morning. May's spokesman told a press briefing attended by Business Insider: "Britain first seeks to divide communities through their use of hateful narratives which peddle lies and stoke tensions. They cause anxiety to law abiding people. "British people overwhelmingly reject the prejudice of the far-right, which it is the antithesis of...

Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) exhibited mounting frustration Wednesday with the inaction on Capitol Hill in light of the recent sexual allegations. She has called for the resignation of both Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) and Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and even walked out of the House Democrats’ morning conference meeting saying harassment wasn’t being addressed seriously. “I don’t have time for meetings that aren’t real,” she told reporters. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.( Revelation 9:20-21)Here in Revelation 9 we have a listing of prominent sins of the Last days, and the warning that men will have come to the point that they simply would not ever...

Thousands of felons across Alabama have registered to vote in recent weeks, according to Pastor Kenneth Glasgow, who is heading up a statewide effort to get felons to the voting booth. Glasgow's goal is to get as many felons as possible signed up to vote before the end of the day Monday, the deadline to be able to cast a ballot in Alabama's Dec. 12 U.S. Senate special election. "In the last month, I think we registered at least five- to ten-thousand people all over the state," Glasgow, president of Dothan's The Ordinary People Society (TOPS) advocacy group, said Monday....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ifB8iXfQUk Though it started life as a No.1 MKIII Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifle in .303, this single-shot .410 “musket” was an exercise in colonial gun control. With the standard magazine removed and replaced with a wooden plug, the barrel rifling swapped for a smoothbore shotgun load, and the sights fixed on the lowest setting, these guns were used for both constabulary purposes inside the British Empire– much like the Greener Police Shotgun— and for hunting in areas of the UK where the regular military-issue SMLE would require more regulation than a shotgun certificate. Eric and Chad with IV8888 have one...

On the heels of Lenovo’s massive $3.5 million fine for preinstalling adware on laptops without users‘ consent, Hewlett-Packard is jumping in with both feet when it comes to installing spyware on its PCs without the consumer’s permission. According to numerous reports gathered by Computer World, the brand is deploying a telemetry client (a system data that is uploaded by the Connected User Experience and Telemetry component), on customer computers without asking permission. The software, which was first identified on November 15 of this year, is called “HP Touchpoint Analytics Service” and appears to replace the self-managed HP Touchpoint Manager solution....

Debbie White Dove Porreco, at home in Palm Beach, with Max and Mia. Photo by Paul NobleEditor’s note: This story originally ran in 2013 You wouldn’t expect to encounter Pocahontas in Palm Beach, but you have if you’ve met Debbie “White Dove” Porreco, a Native-American princess after whom Pocahontas is often modeled in the media. “Sometimes when I’m dining at Mar-a-Lago, I think to myself, ‘You’ve come a long way from that Indian reservation you started in,” she said. “Pocahontas had dreams and went to England. My dreams brought me to Palm Beach.” That dream would have seemed far away...

Aside from a fax machine and landline telephone, there isn't much technology in the office of physician Anna Konopka, 84. Instead, her patients' records are tucked into two file cabinets, which sit in a tiny office next door to her 160-year-old clapboard house in New London, N.H. Records are meticulously handwritten, she said. Konopka does have a typewriter, but it's broken, and its parts have been discontinued. With medicine in the United States becoming increasingly regulated — and as more doctors are expected to keep records electronically — Konopka's style of doctoring had attracted about 25 patients a week....

Australia's "marriage equality" campaign triumphed in this month's referendum under the slogan "Let's Get It Done". In other words, it's inevitable, so why waste another five years arguing about it? Let's get it done, and over, and move on to transgender bathrooms or whatever's next. That's how "progressives" think about progress. As a certain author wrote long ago in a certain bestselling book:We assume that social progress is like technological progress: it can't be reversed. Just as you can't disinvent the internal combustion engine, so you can't disinvent women's rights. Just as the horse and buggy yielded to the steam...

The other day President Trump referred jokingly, yet again, to Senator Elizabeth Warren as "Pocahontas", and as a result is even more totally racey-racey-racist than he was the week before. If you're finding this all a bit hard to follow, relax: a white grade-school teacher pretends to be black, that's totally racist and you should denounce him as such immediately; But if a white professor pretends to be Harvard Law School's "first woman of color" and you point it out, then you're the racist. Got that? It's easy when you know how: If a Victoria's Secret model wears lingerie "inspired...

President Trump dredged up a notorious old mystery with his latest bomb at NBC, citing the bizarre death 16 years ago of a young female staffer in the office of then-congressman and current “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough. The story of Lori Klausutis has dogged Scarborough on the Internet since she was found dead in his Florida district office on July 19, 2001. Although Scarborough was out of town — and the medical examiner later ruled she had died after falling and hitting her head on a desk — conspiracy theorists have long speculated, with no reliable evidence, that Scarborough...

Palestinian terrorist leaders often use teenagers to commit acts of terror because they know that the Israeli legal system treats child terrorists more leniently than adult terrorists. Now ten members of the “progressive caucus” of the Democratic Party are trying to give these terrorist leaders another reason for using even younger terrorists to kill even more innocent civilians. On November 14, Representative Betty McCollum introduced legislation — co-sponsored by nine other “progressive” members of Congress calling on the State Department to “prevent United States tax dollars from supporting the Israeli military’s ongoing detention and mistreatment of Palestinian children.” In a...

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel is opening a case file to address allegations that White House counselor Kellyanne Conway violated federal law when she made comments about GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore's Democratic challenger. Walter Shaub, the former director of the Office of Government Ethics, filed a complaint with the Office of Special Counsel last week alleging that Conway violated the Hatch Act, a decades-old law prohibiting federal employees from using their offices to campaign for or against political candidates.

ARTICLE DATE 11/24/16...............The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is the most partisan agency in the federal government in terms of donations to candidates, according to campaign finance data. Employees at the CFPB, which was created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, contributed nearly $50,000 during the 2016 campaign with all of that money going to aid Hillary Clinton or her rival, the insurgent socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., VT). Agency employees made more than 300 donations during the campaign. Not one went to a Republican candidate. Rep. Sean Duffy (R., Wis.), a frequent critic of the agency,...
