News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch, in a discursive speech Monday evening, blasted Secretary of State John Kerry and attacked the left for creating an "identity crisis" that he charged has undermined American strength and fostered terrorism around the world. And he drew a connection between U.S. foreign policy and domestic culture, arguing that “in recent years, there has been far too much institutionalization of grievance and victimhood."

Beijing ordered hundreds of factories to shut and allowed children to skip school as choking smog reached over 25 times safe levels on Tuesday, casting a cloud over China's participation in Paris climate talks. A thick grey haze shrouded the capital with concentrations of PM 2.5, harmful microscopic particles that penetrate deep into the lungs, as high as 634 micrograms per cubic metre. The reading given by the US embassy dwarfs the maximum recommended by the World Health Organisation, which is just 25 micrograms per cubic metre

Tensions between Russia and Turkey continue to rise. Their relationship suffered a deadly blow when Turkey shot down a Russian jet last month. Ever since, Russia's President Putin and his Turkish counterpart Erdogan have gone after each other, both in public and privately. In the last few days, Putin has accused Turkey of buying ISIS oil. The Russian president is convinced that the terrorist group is shipping massive amounts of oil to the Turkish black market, where it's then sold for a relatively low price. Putin's accusations are backed up by Mowaffak al Rubaie, a former Iraqi Governing Council member...

News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch, in a discursive speech Monday evening, blasted Secretary of State John Kerry and attacked the left for creating an "identity crisis" that he charged has undermined American strength and fostered terrorism around the world. And he drew a connection between U.S. foreign policy and domestic culture, arguing that "in recent years, there has been far too much institutionalization of grievance and victimhood." The Australian-born media mogul, a naturalized U.S. citizen, also touched on the Republican presidential primary, which he said "has articulated a deep distaste for the slow descent of our country." "Before delivering my...

A new filing with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) seems to indicate that Alphabet GOOGL owned Google plans to start testing Project Loon Internet balloons on a large scale across the U.S. In the filing, Google has sought license to test experimental radios that apply wireless spectrum in the millimeter bandwidth in all 50 states as well as in Puerto Rico. Therefore, Google could start testing high-altitude balloons beginning Jan 1 for 24 months. The documents however don't mention Project Loon by name. Project Loon is developed by Google's secretive X Labs to make the Internet available worldwide using balloons. Project...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem Character Studies From The Bible Paul 16. Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. 17. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved. 18. She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said...

We’ve all heard of people doing something secular in a “religious†way, and one area of life to which that applies is sports and physical fitness. Now, some are suggesting that the culture surrounding training gyms may very well fall under the umbrella of religion. The New York Times noted recently that in a society that is increasingly secular, many people are applying their religious sensibility to athletic activity. Many of the parallels with religion can be found, the newspaper noted, in a Crossfit gym: adherents getting out of bed at an ungodly hour in order to spend a significant amount of time in...

John's vision in Revelation gives us some clues about what heaven is like. Heaven is charged with the absence of things that are conspicuously present in our earthly environment. What is absent? Some of the missing things include tears, death, sorrow, and pain: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" (Rev. 21:4, NIV). Certain types of people will also be absent. No unbelievers, abominable and sexually immoral people, murderers, sorcerers, idolaters, or liars will live in that place....

Rob Malley .. was fired from then-Sen. Barack Obama's first presidential campaign in 2008 for meeting with Hamas officials when he was an informal adviser to the campaign. After eight years of Obama that have decimated the Democratic Party, the Dems seem poised to nominate a candidate who's generally thought of as a corrupt, insincere liar with no significant accomplishments. This gives the Republican Party a real opportunity to put someone in the White House who can reverse the damage of the Obama years and get the country back on track. As of today, there appear to be five candidates who are in the hunt for the nomination: Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Donald Trump. Out of those candidates, Ted Cruz should be an...

According to the Detroit Free Press, the city of Detroit must make a $195 million balloon payment to its pension systems in 2024, which is some 71 percent higher than the amount approved in city’s bankruptcy plan. New hiring, delayed pension cuts, and longer life expectancies have left the city responsible for a growing retirement-benefit liability. Statewide, the situation is not much better. Recent financial statements for pension plans covering Michigan’s state employees, teachers and police officers indicate that those plans are underfunded by some $33 billion, an increase of about $1.5 billion over last year. Adding insult to injury,...

Feds Delay Deal for California ISIS Supporter Putting off punishment for the man who wanted to blow up a "Zionist" daycare. December 1, 2015 Lloyd Billingsley Despite a tepid response from the president, the November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris may be causing some U.S. officials to take stateside ISIS recruits more seriously. On November 17, the U.S. Department of Justice was to make an offer to Islamic State supporter Nicholas Teausant, seeking to resolve his case without trial "with the possibility of a guilty plea to an as-yet-undefined charge" as the Sacramento Bee reported. Reports of a settlement...

The twisted logic of leftist anti-Israel activist groups -- and those who fund them. Israel struggles with terrorist attacks, and works vigilantly to combat suicide attacks. The government is forced to resort to means that will protect her people - and combat terrorists who believe they will head to heaven and be rewarded as part of their jihad. Rightfully, the Israeli government has pursued a path of home demolition. As Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu noted "We have a policy of creating a price for suicide terrorists, because the suicide terrorist commits suicide after all, it is reasonable to assume he...

As working dinners go, President Obama's meal Monday night in Paris with French President Francois Hollande, Secretary of State John Kerry and others wasn't too shabby. No cartons of takeout -- instead, the gang fueled up after a long day of climate talks at L'Ambroisie, the three-Michelin-starred temple of gastronomie in the Marais neighborhood. Per the Michelin Guide, the ornately be-chandelier-ed dining room is known for "incomparable classicism and an immortal feast for the senses." Perhaps worried that Obama would create an international faux pas by ordering a burger or a margarita (two of his faves), a reporter asked what...

"The contemporary quest for world order will require a coherent strategy to establish a concept of order within the various regions and to relate these regional orders to one another." -- Henry Kissinger, "Henry Kissinger On The Assembly Of A New World Order" "[P]art of people's concern is just the sense that around the world the old order isn't holding and we're not quite yet to where we need to be in terms of a new order that's based on a different set of principles, that's based on a sense of common humanity, that's based on economies that work for...

DES MOINES, IA (CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is breaking all the rules of political discourse, and it seems to be working. He’s led in virtually every poll for weeks, despite controversies that would sink ordinary candidates. Even more surprising to some is that Trump is doing especially well among women. A CNN/ORC poll released Tuesday shows that 60 percent of female Republican voters have a favorable opinion of him. Who are the women behind those numbers? It seems no matter what Trump says about women, more and more Republican women like what they see - even after...
