Well its over...proof that there is a merciful God. The reviews are in for you, old grand and glorious Hollywood, and its unanimous...you sucked! And you sucked so bad that you can only pray that no one watched it. Seeing how you interupted programing on all the major networks and several cable channels, fat chance of that. It may have made money, but if it did, I'm sure you'll never see a fraction of what Jerry Lewis can do with his telethon.
But why? Why did you fail? Because you all spent hard earned years attacking those that truly give and are the most generous, Conservatives. Theres a great line from Disney's Pinnochio; "I don't want to be an actor! I want to be smart!" This telethon was proof that you people are just not that bright as much as you would like for us to believe you are.
You begged for money from Americans, but historially its Conservatives that have proven time and time again to be the most generous and giving. Liberals afterall just wear ribbons to show they care for the Lepers of this world, but its the Conservatives that actually wash the wounds. And you Mr. & Mrs. Hollywood, yes you who beg for money after spending 8 years belittling, insulting and lieing about Conservatives, come to us and beg for money to be handled by ta-da "The United Way". The haters of Boy Scouts and everything decent. If this wasn't proof that the collective IQ's on stage are in double digits, man I just don't know what is.
You didn't rally round our President or our flag and showed as much emotion and patriotism as mold growing on a shower curtain!
No "we support our President!" No "we support our troops". No nothing. You all seemed like you were being inconvenienced from 2 hours of valuable coke snorting time.
Isn't it amazing that an audience for a hockey game for the Flyers and the Rangers last night showed more patriotism then most of Hollywood? These people; the beautiful people who supported a man who decimated our intelligence community, our army, our judicial system and a countrys morals, begged the heartland (codename: Morons) for money. BTW, where was Bill (I feel your pain) Clinton? Why did he not lead the charge for money raising? He is one of the greatest money raisers in history of politics is he not? Was it because there was no cut in it for him? No my friends its not. Truth is its because he already gave today....$342 worth of NBA tank top jerseys for the victims of the children affected by the bombing...just in time for fall and winter, to keep them warm. Excuse me. I'm starting to tear up.
I hope you all will give generously, even though you already did hours after the bombing, not a week after. Hollywood is calling you America; time to change our phone number!
They want you to give while their agents were getting their limos warmed up. They of course can't generously give like you....all their money went to the DNC to get more corrupt people elected to undermine our country.
On stage was a group of people making $20 - $25 million a picture, that if they only donated one pictures worth of pay, would raise close to $200 million. But hell aren't the ribbons enough? Isn't 2 hours of their time for this telethon (BTW a 2 hour TELETHON?) more than enough to ask of them? Yes it is my friends. We must now ensure that the beautiful people don't soil their hands or risk their paychecks as we stand in the unemployment lines and dig through the rubble of our country. After all, what they have sacrifice for us, its the least we can do for them!
God Bless America!
Blah, yawn, hack, sneeze...
I would watch some, get irritated and watch something else. The Mets game entertainment was a far better example of star/patriots lending their talents to the cause of fighting terrorism in America. Marc Anthony, Diana Ross and Liza Minelli entertained (Liza had the chorus line backup of New York police and firefighters which was really quite sweet and amusing). Diana Ross wore a red, white and blue ribbon. The only telethon celeb (I suppose allowed to!) I noticed wearing a ribbon was Muhammed Ali. The players and the audience knew what this was about. The Hollywood telethon crowd didn't have a clue.
It was disgusting and might as well have been a breast cancer telethon or a hang nail telethon.
