Huffington and Puffington Post ^ | June 25, 2017 | http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-ramadan-iftar_us_594fb494e4b02734df2af512
Breaking with tradition, the White House under President Donald Trump did not host an iftar dinner, the meal Muslims eat to break their daily fast during Ramadan. The dinner, which has been often attended by prominent members of the U.S. Muslim community, began in 1996 during former President Bill Clinton’s White House tenure and continued through the subsequent Bush and Obama administrations. Trump and first lady Melania simply issued a brief statement Saturday that offered “warm greetings” to Muslims celebrating Eid al-Fitr, which marks the close of Ramadan, Islam’s holy month of fasting.

Three Democratic congressmen attended a private dinner hosted by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in 2013, a new report reveals. Reps. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, Andre Carson of Indiana and Gregory Meeks of New York attended the private dinner, along with Louis Farrakhan, a notorious anti-Semite who leads the black supremacist group Nation of Islam. Iran is the number one state sponsor of terrorism, according to the United States government, which has listed the Islamic Republic as a state sponsor of terror since 1984. Rouhani was in New York for a United Nations meeting and held the dinner party just hours...

Jordan's swift reaction to the savage murder of its young fighter pilot --the rapid execution of two terrorists-- is just the first of our ally's responses if King Abdullah was correctly understood by members of the House Armed Services Committee. The president's muted response to the latest and most gruesome ISIS atrocity outraged listeners to my radio show yesterday who are longing for more clarity and especially more seriousness from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. They will be even more disturbed when they learn that the president's halting comments on ISIS are far stronger than his complete appeasement of Iran, detailed in Mike...

As Democrat Amy McGrath was laying the groundwork for her Senate bid, she attended a dinner hosted by the Kentucky chapter of a radical anti-Israel organization that has been tied to funding of global terror networks. The Kentucky chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, known best as CAIR, posted multiple pictures of McGrath in attendance at its annual dinner on May 11, 2019. She is currently featured in the main photo of the group's Facebook page. McGrath launched her long-shot bid to unseat Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell in early July. Her first filing shows, however, that the campaign...

'They don't speak for me': New Muslim groups reject CAIR representation

In the days following the Dec. 2 attack in San Bernardino, Council for American-Islamic Relations representatives partially blamed U.S. policy for terrorist attacks, accused gunman Syed Rizwan Farook’s co-workers of making fun of his beard and sought to downplay comments by Farook’s father linking him to ISIS. Like Muslims throughout the U.S., CAIR officials condemned the attack, but too often with what sounded to critics like subtle caveats.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is urging Muslim women to speak out against Donald Trump after the Republican nominee suggested that Ghazala Khan, the wife of Khizr Khan, was silent during his speech at the Democratic National Convention last week because she was forbidden from saying anything. The Khans' son was killed in 2004 while serving as a U.S. soldier in Iraq. CAIR put out a press release Sunday urging Muslim women activists to take to Twitter between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. EDT Monday to tweet "about who they are and how they speak out," using the hashtag #CanYouHearUsNow.

Victory: PJM's Raymond Ibrahim to Speak at U.S. Army War College Despite CAIR's Howling

Raymond Ibrahim, a longtime and regular contributor to PJ Media, will be speaking about his book, Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War between Islam and the West, next week at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. This is significant: the War College first invited Mr. Ibrahim to speak last year; however, one week before his scheduled appearance in June 2019, a number of politically active Islamists—including CAIR, Linda Sarsour, etc.—protested wildly, including by presenting Ibrahim as a “white supremacist” who if allowed to speak would incite an “already racist and nationalist” American army to start randomly...

(CNN)President Donald Trump will host a dinner at the White House this week celebrating the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The iftar is scheduled for Wednesday, according to Politico, which first reported Trump would host the dinner, and a guest list was not made available by the White House. The event was not held last year, breaking nearly two decades of tradition by previous Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama.

Al Smith Dinner: Cardinal Dolan fails to speak against abortion

While the tradition of the Alfred E. Smith dinner to invite the Republican and Democrat nominee to raise money for charity is admirable, it was disturbing to see Timothy Cardinal Dolan laughing and joking with Hillary Clinton less than twenty-four hours after Hillary announced she supports abortion up to the moment of birth. Worse, when he spoke at the end, he made a vague oblique reference to the life of the unborn when he said some of the money raised would help poor women give birth. I understand that the dinner is to raise money and everyone tries to...

President Trump has agreed to speak remotely Thursday at the New York Archdiocese’s first ever virtual Al Smith fundraising event amid the coronavirus pandemic, church officials said Monday evening. The Archdiocese has also extended an invitation to former Vice President Joe Biden, who is Catholic, and is hopeful he will also agree to speak at the 75th annual fundraiser, the first being held remotely and not taking place at a location with speakers and hundreds of guests.

“The Daily Show’s” Hasan Minhaj, who is hosting the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in DC, was asked by organizers not to make fun of President Donald Trump, who will not be in attendance, says a source who saw the comic at the Village Underground on Thursday. “It was a polite request because Trump is so thin-skinned,” the source said. Reuters’ Jeff Mason, who is president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, insists he never said Trump was “thin-skinned,” but added that he wanted a balanced event.

Palestinian teacher Hanan al-Hroub, who is scheduled to speak at a Clinton Global Initiative dinner on Tuesday, is receiving backlash from Republicans because her husband was convicted of participating in a terrorist attack in 1980 that killed six Israelis. Al-Hroub’s husband, Omar al-Hroub, was convicted for being an accomplice to a 1980 bombing that killed six Israelis who were walking home from Sabbath prayers on a Friday night. At the time, Omar was a chemist and helped provide chemicals to make the explosives. He went on to serve as a senior Palestinian official, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. After...

Those who don’t regularly follow politics might not be familiar with George P. Bush. But they’ve surely heard of his father, uncle and grandfather. The son of former Florida governor and 2016 White House hopeful Jeb Bush, George P. Bush will deliver the keynote speech at the Republican Party of Riverside County’s annual Liberty Dinner on Oct. 15. Having been elected Texas land commissioner in 2014, George P. Bush, 39, is the grandson of America’s 41st president, George H.W. Bush, and the nephew of the 43rd president, George W. Bush. “George P. Bush is a rising star in the Republican...

CAIR has a long history of affiliation with Hamas and Hezbollah. It was reportedly a co-conspirator in the largest terrorist financing case in US history, which went unindicted. CAIR has a long history of affiliation with the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. CAIR members have often defended the actions of Hamas in Gaza. Further, FBI investigators uncovered evidence establishing CAIR's place in the "Palestine Committee," which was a Muslim Brotherhood-created network aimed at helping Hamas in the United States, according to a report by the Investigative Project on Terrorism. In 2009, US District Court Judge Jorge Solis ruled that there...

I’ll never forget my first day of graduate school. It was in the fall of 2007, and I had beeen accepted to Hartford Seminary’s Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations program. It was familiar territory for me, as I had attended Hartford Seminary for the past two years as an undergraduate to study the Arabic language for my degree in Religious Studies. I knew many of the professors, if not personally, at least by name and face. My experiences, which I wrote about in an article published via the National Association of Scholars Journal, include the following event from my first...
