TEXAS A&M, Texas (KBTX) - The George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum unveiled the former President’s 4141 locomotive in its new home Thursday. The locomotive joined the former president’s retired Marine One helicopter in the museum’s new addition, the Marine One/4141 Locomotive Pavilion. After years of collaboration between the Texas A&M University System, Union Pacific, George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, the George and Barbara Bush Foundation and other organizations, the locomotive is now a permanent part of the museum’s collection. The train was renamed in honor of President Bush in 2005, painted to match Air Force One....

President George W. Bush took Queen Elizabeth to her first ever baseball game in 1991 - and the excursion only lasted two innings. A new book, penned by the late Bush's longtime chief of staff Jean Becker, sheds light on the exact moment the then-president realized the Queen wasn't enthralled by the game. But her reaction was full of grace. In Becker's book, Character Matters: And Other Life Lessons from George H. W. Bush, she features a number of political heavy hitters including President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Vice President Dan Quayle, as well as...

HOUSTON — Few people outside of the family knew President George H.W. Bush as well as Jean Becker, his longtime chief of staff. She is sharing stories from her new book, "Character Matters," calling it a roadmap to civility in our polarizing political climate. Becker is a journalist who became deputy press secretary for Barbara Bush in the White House, then was asked by the president to become his chief of staff once he left office ."I told him I didn't know how to be a chief of staff," Becker said. "I didn't know how to be a boss, do...

Progressive 'Squad' member Rep. Cori Bush is continuing to dish out cash to her security guard husband despite a federal probe into her alleged misuse of campaign funds for security purposes. Her most recent Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing reveals her campaign paid her husband Cortney Merritts - who works as her personal security guard - $15,000 in the first quarter of 2024. That brings the total amount she has paid him to over $135,000. Bush has regularly paid Merritts $5,000 a month since January 2022, her filings indicate.

Pathetic Bush Republicans Don't Grasp That They're Vestigial and Won't Be Making a Comeback

It is undeniable that former President Donald Trump has been the catalyst for division in the Republican Party. I happen to think that's one of the most positive influences he's had on the party. A majority of the people whom Trump has driven away from the GOP are deeply entrenched establishment types who have been the bane of conservatives for decades. They also have connections to the same two prominent Republicans. The Opinion section of The New York Times is determined to make disaffected, Trump-loathing Republicans feel as if they still have relevance for the future of the party. Because...

WASHINGTON — Twenty years after George W. Bush won re-election with the help of ballot initiatives that rallied voters around a popular cultural issue, Democrats are dusting off his playbook and attempting a similar strategy to keep Donald Trump out of office. In 2004, Bush’s team seized on popular opposition to same-sex marriage, with strategist Karl Rove encouraging allies to put initiatives to ban it on ballots in key swing states, hoping to stir up voters and enable the president to ride the measures’ coattails to re-election. It worked. Now, President Joe Biden’s allies are seizing on fury over the...

During a portion of an interview aired on Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Source,” Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) declared, “there should not be white men in red states telling people across this country, telling women and pregnant folks across this country what we can do with our own bodies.” Host Kaitlan Collins asked, “What do you make of that, when we hear from some lawmakers, like Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), who say, on the idea of some states that don’t have any exceptions, ‘[T]wo wrongs don’t make a right.’ And the question is ‘not whether a woman should be forced...

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A United flight from Houston to Fort Myers had to turn around Monday when one of the plane's engines caught fire. Several of the 167 passengers on board Flight 1118 took a video showing a line of flames shooting out of the engine. "I remember there was just this bright, flashing light that came through the window, and it sounded like a bomb went off, and then it was just a strobe of fire out the window," David Gruninger, who was on the connecting flight home to Florida with 15 of his friends after attending a...

Jenna Bush Hager is remembering an unexpected family vacation she took after her grandfather George H.W. Bush lost the 1992 presidential election. On Tuesday’s episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, the hosts were joined by actor Joel McHale to play a game called “Hot Takes.” One topic, cruises, brought up some old memories for Bush Hager, 42. After McHale, 52, admitted to going on a themed cruise as a child, Bush Hager chimed in to share her own experience, saying, “I actually did go on the Disney Cruise with my grandparents" — although she added that they didn't realize...

A retired Marine One helicopter frequently used during George H.W. Bush’s presidency completed the trip to its final destination Tuesday, when it was delivered to College Station to be put on display at Bush’s presidential library and museum. The massive aircraft — it weighs 4.65 tons and is 72 feet long — was trucked to the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum grounds on Texas A&M University’s west campus. The sight of the helicopter being lifted off the truck and moved into its permanent home in the soon-to-open Marine One/4141 Locomotive Pavilion drew a small crowd of onlookers, as...

Joy Behar told her co-hosts Thursday on ABC’s “The View” that “democracy died” with the Supreme Court’s 2000 Bush v. Gore decision that settled a recount dispute in Florida’s 2000 presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore. Discussing the Supreme Court announcement that they have agreed to hear oral arguments on former President Donald Trump’s presidential immunity claims, co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, “Let’s look at a scenario where the Supreme Court says yes, he has all those rights. He is immune from everything. You know what Joe Biden could do since he is presently president? He could throw...

A trove of damning text messages from Nathan Wade’s former divorce attorney seemingly showing his affair with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis started before they claim have finally emerged. The text exchanges between Terrence Bradley and Ashleigh Merchant — who is representing one of former President Donald Trump’s co-defendants in the Georgia election fraud case — were revealed in full for the first time on Megyn Kelly’s podcast Wednesday. “We have gotten our hands on the texts,” Kelly said in opening her show, referring to the 413-message exchange.

It will be housed in the new Marine One/4141 Locomotive Pavilion at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum. The Marine One helicopter was flown frequently by President Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush during their time in the White House. The massive 72-foot aircraft is scheduled to arrive in College Station on Tuesday, February 27. It will be transported by a large truck. Former President George H.W. Bush's speedboat has a new owner. The 38-foot "Fidelity V" was auctioned for $435,000 during the George and Barbara Bush Foundation’s 2024 Presidential Salute benefiting the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, and The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, a spokesperson said. The event last week in Houston featured a number of the late president's friends ranging from former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Peyton Manning. The boat’s buyer was anonymous and it’s unclear what will become of the vessel, the spokesperson said. The...

Presidents Day, normally observed on the third Monday in February, may have a little extra meaning for Bob Low, particularly by way of his work in the 1980s as a haberdasher — also known as a clothier — in Washington, D.C. The Cedar Creek resident, a native of Westerly, Rhode Island, became acquainted with a World War II veteran from New England who went on to become a Texas-based businessman, diplomat and politician. President George Herbert Walker Bush was a regular customer of Low’s at the Arthur A. Adler shop on Connecticut Avenue, a few blocks from the White House....

A recent Remington Research Group/Missouri Scout survey showed what appears to be an uphill battle for far-left Democrat Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) in her primary race, as she trails her Democrat challenger by double digits. The survey asked Democrat primary voters who they would support in the primary race, offering a choice of three candidates: Rep. Bush, St. Louis prosecuting attorney Wesley Bell, and State Sen. Maria Chapelle-Nadal. Half chose Bell as their candidate of choice, followed by 28 percent who said Bush and four percent who chose Nadal. Nearly one in five, 18 percent, remain unsure.

We previously reported that there may be some big issues coming for "Squad" member Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) in this election. As we noted, both she and her fellow "Squad" member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) were being outraised by their more moderate, Democrat challengers. Seems people are not necessarily big fans of extremists. Her principal opponent, Wesley Bell, said he was honored by the support and drew a sharp contrast between himself and Bush. In a statement to the Hill, Bell said:Missouri’s 1st District deserves a representative who shows up, does the work and gets things done. I’m honored by...

It appears that two "Squad" members could see their time in the House of Representatives comes to an end in the upcoming election cycle. Representatives Cori Bush of Missouri and Jamaal Bowman of New York have both been financially outraised by their more moderate Democratic challengers, according to a report by Fox News Digital. Bush has been under investigation by the Justice Department for handing out tens of thousands of dollars in campaign funds to a security firm. And now she has been outraised by attorney Wesley Bell, who is running a more moderate Democratic campaign. "Missouri’s 1st District deserves...
