While Pontius Pilate's wife, Claudia, has been glorified as a saint, what happened to Pontius Pilate himself? There are three writers from the Early Church who say he became a Christian. There is a similar tradition in Ethiopia, and sometimes there one can find icons of Pontius Pilate, together with his wife Claudia.
The fate of Pontius Pilate after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is disputed among historians. According to some, Pilate killed himself while in exile to Gallia. Others suggest that he was executed during the reign of Emperor Nero. According to legend, the bad omens accompanying the martyrdom of Christ continued to follow Pilate and his wife Claudia long after the death of the Saviour and caused them great grief until Pontius finally converted to Christianity under the influence of his spouse. According to popular apocryphal writings, complicity in the killing of Christ gave Pontius Pilate a guilty conscience that left him sleepless for many years and sent him looking for a way to wash away his iniquity.

One of the themes of the Bible is that God flips the script that is expected by us humans. It happens throughout the Bible so this would fit in with that theme. Pilate would be one of the most unlikely Christians ever but as Jesus said with God it is possible.

I believe God has us in the world for a purpose. We have meaning, significance and purpose. We go back to God when our purposes are achieved. A kind word at a certain time, a few bucks to some one in need. Big or small Gd can use them all.

The fact he did not proclaim repentence loud and clear, accepting consequences, twlls all we need to know. Half hearted or no conversion.
Not everybody is gifted with Evangelism or are appointed by God to be evangelists. Nothing is definitive, of course, because we don’t have official records. But I think Christ would have made the point of being seen by those killed Him as a last ditch appeal for them to repent.
June 25th is St. Pilot day in the Coptic Church in Egypt. He and his wife became a faithful part of St. Mark’s ministry there.

According to the fictional 29th chapter of ACTS Pilate threw himself off a mountan and was washed into Lake Lucerne Switzerland. As Paul was passing by an earthquake changed the shape of the lake to look like Christ on the Cross. St Paul must have had an aircraft or drone to notice the change of the lake.

Acts 29:20 “And Paul stretched forth his hands upon the water, and prayed unto the Lord, saying, O Lord God give a sign unto all nations that here Pontius Pilate, which condemned thine only begotten Son, plunged headlong into the pit.”
Acts 29:21 “And while Paul was yet speaking, behold there came a great earthquake, and the face of the waters was changed, and the form of the lake like unto the Son of Man hanging in the agony upon the cross.”

Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows. And I know that this man — whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows — was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell." 2 Cor. 12:2-4 (NIV)
