Girl kicked out of Christian school after refusing to take picture in bathtub

second grader was kicked out of Victory Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida after her parents refused to participate in an assignment that involved taking a picture of their child “doing reading homework in bathtub.”

When mother Misty Dunham saw the assignment from teacher Irene Castaneda, she wrote a note back to the teacher saying her 8-year-old daughter would do no such thing:

“I emailed the teacher ‘Hey, you may want to explain that. Send something out to the parents. Let them know what the intentions are.’ This just does not sound OK,” Misty Dunham said. “She did send out a message saying, ‘you should be in pajamas, be in your uniform, have fun with it.’ But, it didn’t sit right.”

Actually, what Castaneda wrote (according to a police report) was “We have been sending this homework assignment home for years, and you’re the only one complaining about it. Just cover your child in pillows or pajamas then.”

As if a picture of a clothed or covered-up child was the exception to the rule.

What the hell were people sending her in the past? (Actually, that’s a valid question for another reason. The school’s Facebook page says Castaneda was hired in August. So how does she know no one else has complained about it?)

If the goal was to have a little fun with the reading homework by having Victory Christian Academy parents take a picture of their kids reading in the bathtub with clothes on and no running water, that should’ve been specified. It wasn’t. When Dunham spoke with other parents about the situation, they were equally flippant, saying things like “Just cover your child up with something.”

Everyone was treating Dunham like she was ruining the fun rather than admitting she had a point.

Can’t she sit in an empty tub clothed?

How about just taking a picture wherever you want (e.g. tree house, hammock, wing back chair by a fire, bean bag chair), or none at all. This is a PR exercise, not an academic one. Heck, I don't even think its the school's business if we even HAVE a bathtub.

I need to know a lot more about this. Could it have been something that supposed to be cute? We have a kids book called “Dinner in the bathtub” or something like that. It’s about a family that does all the regular daily things in weird ways. On the title scene, the whole family is eating a full course dinner in tub. It’s a cute story and not remotely suggestive.

Reading in the bathtub? With plastic books? Who reads in the bathtub? Or am I the only one who drops things?

Maybe the parents should have just sent in a video of CNN employee Jeffrey Toobin masturbating in a Zoom meeting.

Steer into the skid. Show them how they appear to the rest of the world.

This school's homework assignments require parent signoff, and in some cases, parent participation.

I think people are falling for the anti-Christian bait. This is nothing like the secret grooming and abuse we see so much of in government schools. The state media is trying to convert a government scandal into a religious scandal.

The family may have been expelled for making a public spectacle out of an innocent but poorly thought out assignment.

Solution: Demand that the teacher post a selfie of herself taking a dump.

Send picture of you yourself doing reading homework in bathtub

Task is phrased in an ungrammatical fashion!

FAIL!

I’d say you did...Interesting publication too.

Interesting when my kids were in school, there was a real push to keep kids’ photos private...School had to get permission from parents, etc...

Correct me if I’m wrong, but in the past decade or two haven’t parents been accused of having child porn if they have ANY pictures of their young ones unclothed or half clothed?

This exercise should be illegal. The school knows it. The school is just trying to make this go away.

How appalling that a ‘Christian’ school would have this exercise in their curriculum.

My kid would be clothed, in an empty bathtub with her face pixalated, blurred out or just the back of her head. Fully compliant with the instructions. No need for the rightous nonsense and hassling to follow.

All of us posting the same story? Just goes to show how disturbed we were. I’m glad to see I was not the only one.

Wouldn’t you know I’d be the only one to find it on, and use an atheist site?

I question it’s innocence. Even it it was meant to be such and the parents were not comfortable with it, they are the parents and the Bible does say “honor your father and mother” so the school should have gone with the parents wishes on this one.

Anytime anyone in education says “You’re the only one who complained” they’re LYING.

Classic manipulation technique! "Gaslighting" has become a faddish, overused word, but it sure fits in these situations.

Make parents question their rational minds and to feel like they are the oddball crazies with the extremist views... one parent at a time.

Remember the stories about intrusive, perverted, "private" questionairres that the schools were giving out to the students? When some kids nonetheless informed their parents, schools treated the parents as if they were the lone prudes who had a problem. Then it turned out that there were quite a few parents who were "the only ones to complain."

I have to figure that the psyops have been working so well (like with election fraud), that the predators don't even see a need to hide their filthy activities anymore.

No wonder the fear that "democracy" is under attack. PedoPOTUS had to get that speech out. The wolves are very concerned that a few "black" sheep are going to utilize great equalizers of one type or another. Game Over.
