God said to be prepared. Thus I prep.
Be prepared to do what?
You have an utterly distorted perception of that, I fear.
And you are going to KEEP on having an utterly distorted perception of that, until you experience the gospel desire in your heart.
The desire can wax and wane, but if you refuse to cherish even a memory of it, you’re going to be storing things of privacy and hate, rather than sharing and love. The Christian should be a walking advertisement for Christ.
And so as for me... I hunger that the world might be saved.
Maybe you hunger that you will be able to hole up as a lone soul somewhere in this lost and damned world, and fend off all others so you can die as such a lone soul, unbothered, unburdened.
The devil is giving the advice for the latter. Call him Satan, Moloch, whatever... the devil may be in the details, as to what very good thing is pointlessly sacrificed... but a very good thing in fact is. Here’s a big secret: No meeting that the Christian has is a random meeting. Each person met means something chosen by the Lord. I have found much of my protection to be supernatural rather than initiated by me. And the more filled with Christ a person is, the more of his or her protection will be supernatural.
I speak to you as one who warns. The warning may be heeded or spurned, but I warn.
