Twisting my words, stance and attitude is not Christian.

No where hereon have I suggested accepting sodomy etc. And, if I thought a couple believed I was condoning sin—hetero or homo—I’d likely avoid their wedding.

NO you shouldn't attend!

Don't be mean or cruel, but you're responsible for you. You have to draw the line.

I had a family member that was confused a couple years ago and thought she was a lesbian. I set down some rules for my home. I wasn't self righteous or mean about it; just here's the rules. And they were non-negotiable.

1. Your "partner" may never enter my home. I had young children. I didn't want them thinking that any part of that sexual sin was acceptable and was absolutely not welcome in our home. Plus, I just knew there would be some show of "affection", which would cause a scene. So I decided to nip that in the bud.
2. This family member was not allowed to be alone with our children.
3. This family member was not allowed to talk about their "relationship" in our home.

Active homosexual behavior is seriously deviant and no part of it is welcome in my home. However, we never gave up on this person. After a couple years, she turned herself around, met a nice man, and has been married to him for 10yrs now.

You should not support homosexual behavior in any form. It's an abomination to God. Why would anyone support a loved ones actions that will get them cast out at the last day???

Matt 10
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

All followers of Jesus Christ are commanded to take a stand against such things.

I don’t celebrate parading of any sin

So let's cut to the chase. Your friends Adam and Steve, who like to commit sodomy with each other, have decided to "get married". They invited you to the "wedding".

Do you attend? Ever? Under any circumstances?

It's ridiculous to identify as our sin, which is what homosexuals do. To make our sin our identity is never going to end well.

I completely agree. Satan identifies us by our sins. God identifies us by name. There's a difference, I think you'll agree.

You may have missed the sarcasm in my remark to which you replied.

Sin is sin and participating in or attending a homosexual *wedding* shows that you condone it.

There ya go!

To attend a wedding is to give approval to it. Any claim otherwise is silly.

To attend a particular "gay" "wedding" is to approve of the very idea of "gay" "weddings" as well as to approve this particular "gay" "wedding". "Gay" "weddings" are inherently celebrations of a sin which God has called an abomination. I suggest that a Christian should be more certain about such inherently evil events than to say merely that he'd "likely avoid them".

That's a great comment and I'm going to remember it. =)

For one thing, going to their wedding IS showing you condone it. You give your approval of it by attending.

And it's not just about whether the couple thinks you are condoning it by attending. There are others who are watching and when they see you going, it tells them too that you condone it.

I’d have to ask The Lord. I could imagine a situation where I might.

= = = =

Your turn.

Christ railed against pride and pharisee-ism FAR MORE than the whole Bible rails against homosexuality. God’s relative priority against both seems clear from the amount of text time given to each.

Why have you failed to rail against those sins in the Church AS MUCH AS you rail against homosexuality. Yeah, I’m assuming. However, given your statements hereon, it’s a safe bet.

"Some scholars insist that
[Ephesians 5:11, And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.]
refers to former Christians who have deliberately gone way
and persistently over the line into overt and rebellious apostasy."

Romans 1:27-28
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,
burned in their lust one toward another;
men with men working that which is unseemly,
and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error
which was meet.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,
God gave them over to a reprobate mind,
to do those things which are not convenient

It would be hateful for a Christian to attend a gay wedding. It would be hateful for a Christian to fail to give testimony to what the Lord thinks of such an abomination.

You are assuming i believe that wearing white means something to me personally as a hetro person?
I said before marriage was redefined by a overreaching Federal government that all “marriage”, with State involvement, should be declared a Civil Union.
Homo, hetro and whatever would be a Civil Union.
Problem solved.
That way noone is perceived to be discriminated against.
But the big government/globalist/fascist type folks are not about truly solving the problems.

I see. There are circumstances under which you condone sodomy. I figured as much.

Christ railed against pride and pharisee-ism FAR MORE than the whole Bible rails against homosexuality.

That is your interpretation of Scripture. I find it ... lacking. I also find your willingness to judge other people for "Pharisee-ism", but to excuse different other people for sodomy to be completely irrational. Unless, of course, you don't think sodomy is a big deal.

Yeah, I’m assuming.

Yes, you are. With the usual result.

One can call themselves a supporter of same-sex “marriage. And one can call themselves a Christian. But one cannot honestly call themselves both. This issue has caused, and will continue to cause, much conflict and consternation in our society. This is exactly what our Lord was talking about when He said that He came to bring not peace but division (Luke 12:51). The lines have never been more clearly drawn. There is no middle ground. The only question for anyone who calls themselves a “Christian” is on which side of the divide they will rise or fall.

Exactly.

Why would`nt they believe that? and so would i or anyone else.

i Cor 5:11
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

Even one called a brother, that certainly includes unbelievers.

There are other versions which say it a little different which takes in about every thing.
