JESSUP, Md. - Heather Cook, a former Episcopal bishop, was denied in her first, and only, parole hearing since entering prison for fatally striking a bicyclist while driving drunk, and leaving the scene, in December 2014.
Cook fled the scene after killing Tom Palermo, who was riding a bicycle, on Roland Avenue just days after Christmas. She returned thirty minutes later while driving drunk almost three times the legal limit.

maryland ping
you remember this case?
Sure. Back when I still used intoxicating substances, I would occasionally break the speed limit by multiples on the stretch of Roland Avenue where the dyke in the cloth killed the cyclist. I was either on my crotch rocket or in a Porsche. By the Grace of God, I never hit anyone. The irony of the Baltimore court system is this woman will probably serve a good bit more of her sentence while the ferals get a small percentage of time for hard drug distribution, illegal gun possession, stabbing, shooting, armed robbery, car-jacking and other typical indigenous crimes.
Although a few days after Christmas is not the real depth of winter, it’s the holiday season and unfortunately, in the winter, people are not thinking they will see cyclists, even in somewhere like Maryland. Just be careful during the winter if one is a cyclist.
Nope. She was stripped of all priestly duties. She resigned from her office as bishop
She’s a real turd. Won’t show remorse and won’t accept responsibilyu
They will probably make her dean of an Episcopagan seminary.

Never ask or read stuff from you guys while eating dinner. It’s hazardous to your health and computer.
It should be beyond shocking that someone who alleges to be pastor could be so irresponsible and lacking in humility. But it isn’t. I’d like to know if this despicable human being also used the pulpit to promote anti-Christian social revolution. Regardless, 7 years is too short of a sentence.
Is she a lesbian, or black? And the guy she ran over, was he white, hetero, evangelical?
The parole board needs to know these things in the name of social justice!
According to their Satanic bylaws, when she gets out she can go back to being a lesbian.
In Catholic theology, once a man is ordained a Bishop, he is a Bishop. The Sacrament of Holy Orders imprints a character on the soul (as do Baptism and Confirmation), so even if a person is removed from his position and prohibited from performing the Sacraments and thrown in jail, he is still, theologically, a Bishop.
For what it’s worth. One of the saints remarked that the floor of Hell is paved with the skulls of Bishops.
On the other hand, a ceremony of ordination can be performed on a woman, but it doesn’t make her a deacon, priest, or bishop. A woman is not the appropriate “matter” for Holy Orders, just as a cat is not the appropriate matter for Baptism (or any other sacrament).
I’ve ridden on a bike through an industrial park in heavy snow, where drivers were hotdogging in their trucks, testing their 4 wheel drive on the ice and came out of nowhere around buildings.
I read the article and what I said still stands as a general comment and chances are, it could help someone.
And cyclists and pedestrians need to stop wearing all black clothing with a hoodie at night and then walking in or near the road. Wear a little reflector. They sell them already on the backs of some sneakers.
