Please correct me if I am wrong, but I have a distinct recollection of our elite policy makers warning us with horror stories if Malthusian style overpopulation resulting in mass starvation, plauges and world wide social chaos .

Overpopulation was to the 1960s, 70s and 80s what global warming is to today. All responsible adults in Europe and America were urged to push for zero population growth to save the planet.

Unfortunately, this push for zero population growth and sustainable population combined with greatly increased life expectancies,has resulted in a short term demographic imbalance between young and old members of society.

Ordinarily, this imbalance would not be an issue, but it really screws up the math for the modern expansionist welfare state.

However, rather than temporarily adjust the generosity of the welfare state to increase the retirement age for longer life spans and wait for the short term population imbalance to adjust , the West seems determined to commit cultural and societal suicide by importing hostile, iliterate and unassimiliatable Muslims So governments wish to correct their previous stupid social engineering with a new bout of dangerous and even more stupid social engineering
