All I can say to that is you must be perfect. I need God everyday. I’m not ashamed to admit it. Maybe you can control your thoughts even. Ever see a woman in a skimpy outfit or bikini and have an evil thought come across? I have. But I don’t gawk and stare. I move on and get it out of my mind. I don’t let Satans bird build a nest on my head. So I need forgiveness everyday and sometimes for the same thing. But you must have some sort of mind control that puts you above that. I guess I haven’t progressed that far. I still sin.

My contention is that we are under a higher law, the law of Christ.

No arguments here, but unfortunately the fruit of a great majority who claim to be Christians today, is rotten. I'm not judgin, that's just the facts. It's why 1 in 3 pregnancies end in death of the baby, most marriages end in divorce, many denominations have defiled the Almighty's institution of marriage, ...

The written law is for those who do not have the law written on their hearts and evidently many today don't.

You grossly ignore the scriptures.

Read John's first epistle; he covers all the bases that you fear.

1John.2

[1] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
[2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
[3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
[4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
[5] But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
[6] He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
[7] Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Not intentionally. I believe the Ten Commandments are still binding. So no problem there. I help other people out when I can. God sees my heart. I trust in Him. I'll leave it at that.

Many in this country take His name in vain. We’ve suffered from a comfortable cultural Christianity for decades and it has sullied the world’s perception of the church and how the true church lives. However, that may begin to change now that militant cultural fascism is on the rise. Many of the tares will fall away when there’s a price to pay for being a Christian. Actually, that’s already begun happening.

Yes, we're certainly seeing that now.

Michael Rood is a Hebrew Roots guy.

He’s a wannabe rabbi who dresses in old style Hebrew clothing to try to give the appearance of being spiritual or scholarly or learned or something.

I have a whole bunch of stuff on him but the last time I posted the stuff exposing him as the fraud he is, the RM pulled the post for some reason. I could PM it to you.

OK. Thanks.

I don’t believe that we are under the Law any more or OBLIGATED to obey the Law, but the born again believe WILL want to live out the Law.

But there’s a huge difference in obeying as the fruit of salvation because it’s the natural outworking of salvation in a person’s life, and obeying out of the feeling of necessity or need cause otherwise, I’m not getting to heaven.

Well, the mistake is thinking that obedience to the law is going to get any one to heaven. Obeying the law isn’t going to get anyone to heaven. The law is useful in identifying sin and leading us to Christ cause it showed us that we have broken the righteous requirements of God.

Anyway there are 4 events of the “end times” remaining for Messiach to fulfill, but even then Torah remains as the sole basis of righteousness for man.

No it isn't.

And might as well give up on your semantic word games by trying to hair split what the law is. Nobody is buying it. You've been exposed.

Romans 3:20-30 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

I don’t reject the commandments. I reject the idea that Christians are bound by them as a code today. I believe if we are subject to that law we are responsible for the whole law. My contention is that we are under a higher law, the law of Christ.

Preach it, brother.

I guess Matthew must have miss-heard Yeshua’s when he scribed chapter 7?

The phrase “the works of the Law” have never referenced anything but the Pharisees’ burdensome false “oral” Torah.

Those that cannot grasp that will hear the words of Matt 7:21-23 ringing in their mind for eternity

Sounds like you’ve hung Yeshua back up on the cross daily.

Good thing Paul didn’t know what he was talking about, huh?

Thanks, I'll pass on the Rood stuff.
Although we disagree on the obligation to follow Gods Law, I hope we're still friends. I think you're a great person and very sincere.

Oh I agree, law does not save you, boasting, self-righteousness can make a proud creature. Fruits and humility are important to follow though.

How does THAT happen?

Well; if you do the math Tan(X)=2/5 and Tan(Y)=3/8 you'll find that X and Y do NOT equal each other.

Close; but no banana.

Print out the picture; sight down the hypotenuse; and you'll see the angle difference.

Google® 'the missing square' and a more detailed account can be found.
