Communion is between a man and his God, not between a man and his church.

Yep, and here's what the Word of God says, which is exactly what the Church says:

1 Corinthians 11:27

27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord.

I like this. Communion for me is one of the most holy miracles in my weekly life and I am Catholic and about ready to go through a divorce. I saddens me deeply to have to NOT take communion after the divorce. So much so I will have to leave the Catholic church or do 2 separate churches throughout the week. That is how much it means to me. I actually initially stayed in the marriage JUST so I could continue to take communion.

“...Communion is between a man and his God...”

True as long as a man follows the instructions of “his God” as commanded in scripture.

1 Corinthians 11:29

Luke 16:17

St. Luke 16:18

Tenth Commandment #6 (#7 Protestant version) Thou shall not commit adultery

This is a profound and terrible precedent being set against God’s scripture (in the article) and God will not allow it to stand, just my prediction.

Sorry, it's the Church which gives us Communion. The Church is the Mystical Body of Christ of which Jesus is the Head.

The two are inseparable.

This Jew agrees.

Nonsense. The Church is the source and custodian of the sacraments.

If you seriously believe what you say, then presumably you consecrate hosts and receive “communion” at your kitchen table.
