IIRC we are not neighbors.

He’s going “Dang, never expected to see this many Catholics! Oh, well, pass me a Guinness!”

What I had in mind was "fellow Upper East Tennesseean."

If that's not right, maybe I can say "fellow denizen of the Southern Appalachian bio-region, Watauga Watershed, USDA Zone 7."

At either address, I think the blessing will reach you.

Yes, I responded to this. And to be clear, it is why I used the word “virtually”. I put it there specifically for that reason.

Giving all Christian beliefs equal weighting, my statement accurately communicates my position. Giving the salvation message great weighting, he and I agree on almost everything.

We agree on salvation, to the best of my knowledge. We disagree regarding “rock music”.

imardmd1 has made some great points.
I hadn’t read the Death Cookie until last night.

Actually, it is the tract that makes some good points. Here is the link to a copy of "The Death Cookie" (click here)

. It ought to bother certain people. And truly, it confronts and asks for a decision, the kind that totally indoctrinated followers of a cult will not answer positive--unless, of course, the Spirit of God breaks the power of sin that has been cancelled at the Cross, but revived by cults, and they begin to see the light through the Power of the Word of God, bringing freedom and promise of everlasting life that begins now, at the moment of irreversible total commitment of faith in Jesus Christ alone.

The tract that presents this is not libelous, nor is it actionable.

Our FRiend NM needs to note that vladi posted this as "Evangelical Christian," and the tract exactly outlines the message without apology of the evangelical regenerated believer-disciple-priest follower of Jesus, the Messiah.

And, of course, is the unabashed message that cannot be permitted here in the graphical form of Jack Chick's cartoons without the Religious Forum going up in smoke.

I am with the Religious Moderator and site policy on this. No direct publication of Chick's material. That's OK, we need to keep some kind of peaceable communication going on, even though at times there is more smoke than light.

I too was referencing geographic proximity rather than the spiritual. If I did not love you as a Christian, I would not openly oppose the religious org to which you lend your fealty.

I expect we both live in the Tri-Cities area ... and BTW, when are you and Don-o going to let me take you to the range for tool training?

You make a truly poisonous argument: "Agree with me or you're obviously bereft of the Spirit of God."

The tract that presents this is not libelous

I have read it. It absolutely is libelous, although not actionable under US Law.

Good Day, sir.

“Now, how many of the spiritually lost and dead to God have your words turned to God from idolatry, religious or otherwise?”

Many, actually.

“How many babes in Christ have you brought to spiritual victory and maturity, vladi?”

Many, actually.

“Are you in a position to judge the life work of Mr. Chick? Eh?”

Yes, in terms of outside-looking-in. I can’t read his heart, but his actions show him to be a thoroughly deluded or dishonest man.

“Already posted.”

Not this article. So you’re completely wrong - as usual.

“Search is your friend.”

And yet you didn’t use it, and made your error. Hypocrisy is not your friend so don’t participate in it.

No, what Jack Chick did was spread hate and lies through pathetic and often rather disturbing cartoon tracts. He made Christians look bad, and was just generally a negative influence on the world.

Considering I’m in multiple of the demographics Chick slandered and lied about I am DEFINITELY in a position to judge him. And I find him lacking.

“But Chick did it all on his own and his purpose was more than just entertainment.”

He DID NOT do it on his own. He hired people. I remember reading the obituary for his chief cartoonist some years ago. I cannot remember his name unfortunately. All I remember about him - besides the fact that he was an older man - was that he was black.

“Lies? ... want to try and enlighten us?”

Alberto Rivera. Lie after lie after lie. Even his own family admitted what Alberto Rivera claimed was untrue. Gary Metz, a Protestant, completely destroyed Alberto Rivera’s false claims in two articles appearing in Protestant magazines “The Alberto Story,” Cornerstone, vol. 9, no. 53, 1981, pp. 29-31 and Christianity Today, March 13, 1981. http://web.archive.org/web/20051202084221/http://www.cornerstonemag.com/pages/show_page.asp?228

Into Judgment and Mercy. R.I.P.

Not yet...

Revelation 20:11-15
"Then I saw a great White Throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and THE BOOKS WERE OPENED. Another book was opened WHICH IS THE BOOK OF LIFE. The dead were judged according to their works as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to their works.  Then death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. The Lake of Fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written IN THE BOOK OF LIFE, he was thrown into the lake of fire."

“It is a sad thing when a man whose faithful ministry led many to come to Christ should now be vilified by so many so-called Christians.”

It is a sadder thing when a man whose not very faithful ministry led so many people into error should see his life’s errors wiped away by mendacious Protestant so-called Christians. Take the man as he was. He did some good. He did some evil. To pretend he only did one and not the other is foolish and dishonest.

If he gets to meet St. Peter - let’s hope he will - I wonder if he will say to St. Peter as he is opening the gate, “Wait, you aren’t Catholic, are you?”

What 'gate'??

Revelation 21:22-27

22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
