Another Baker Under Gay Agenda Threat for Refusing to Bake Wedding Cake
Charisma News ^ | 2/26/16 | Todd Starnes

A small town bakery owned by a Christian family is under siege after they declined to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple.

Edie and David Delorme own the Kern's Bake Shop in Longview, Texas - known around town for their petit fours and sugar cookies - and also their custom-made wedding"> cakes.

The Delormes are also devout Christians - faithful members of a nearby Baptist church - and they run their bakery according to the tenets of their religious beliefs.

That became a problem on Feb. 17 when Ben Valencia and Luis Marmolejo requested the bakers make a cake for their upcoming wedding.

"I was up front with them," Edie told me. "I said, 'I'm sorry but we don't provide wedding cakes for homosexual marriages."

"We don't do cakes that might conflict with our spiritual convictions," she said. "It was not something personal against the two young men. We just need to be able to run our business in a way that honors God."

She offered to provide the gay couple with a list of bakeries that would meet their needs, but she said the men simply walked out of the store.

Where is Cook, the head of Apple, to defend individuals from being forced to go along with the queer agenda against their will ? If you have no right to your religious beliefs, why do you have a privacy right for your email and information on your iPhone ?

Let the poofters know that all proceeds from the baking of the cake will be donated to the family research council.

You are 100% correct! There are some things that are worth taking up arms for. I would never be compelled to attend their mandatory “reeducation” classes. The Greatest Generation fought against such tyranny. There will be a nasty push back.

"I was up front with them," Edie told me. "I said, 'I'm sorry but we don't provide wedding cakes for homosexual marriages."

No such thing. That's the false premise established as "fact" by the predaceous. She should have said, "We provide wedding cakes, not cakes for homosexual pairings."

Then when the Gotcha!game-playing vermin would have thrown down their SCOTUS card she could have replied, "Look, the government can invent its own fantasy definitions of words all day long, but that doesn't make them true. I stick with reality. What kind of people are you to walk in here and demand that I play make-believe?"

Something like that, anyway.

"We don't do cakes that might conflict with our spiritual convictions," she said.

"Spiritual convictions" - a phrase subjective in form - is [in this climate of corruption] wide open to misinterpretation and attack. After all, suicide bombers have deeply-held religious beliefs. Victims need to be aware of the tactics. The more the lying deviants are validated, the more the normal people will be guilty of anything and everything, all day every day.

How about,

"We don't do cakes that conflict with reality. My goodness, what if we decided that "dirt" should be defined as "flour"?"

There. That's better.

I seem to recall the Texas legislature taking care of this. Will get more positive business than negative in East Texas

I don’t know how big Longview, TX is, but I suspect someone could easily find out where Messrs. Valencia and Marmalade live and pay them a visit. Nothing illegal or threatening. Just a quick stop to say “Hi. Thanks for oppressing these good people, you disgusting fascist faggots.”

Exactly. Always say homosexual and faux marriage, but preferably never the word marriage either.

This will keep escalating until there is a literal war.

Ignoring the first amendment will result in the application of the second.

“Bake them a cake and do a really bad job.”

It wasn’t rocket surgery for Peter to escape his enemies by claiming he never even heard of Jesus before either.

Maybe they feel compelled to be honest about what they believe. Is that rocket surgery?

It is often pointed out that these bullies never pick on moslems. That is true. But what no one has noted so far is that they also do not and probably will never pick on Black or Hispanic chrstians. This is because Black and Hispanic chrstians are, like homosexuals, "oppressed." Even when individual Blacks or Hispanics oppose homosexuality, the symbolism of homosexuals as another non-white ethnic group in solidarity with all others is too important to pick a fight with anyone other than a redneck or Euro-Catholic.

I also predict that no Black or Hispanic church will ever be sued for refusing to perform a homosexual "wedding."

Longview is less than 2 hours away from us - thought about driving out to buy a cake just for the heck of it!

The definition of family had to be undermined first. It start with "not judging" unfortunate but inevitable situations like divorced parents raising young children, just getting on with life. The ulterior motives crowd had purpose in their moralizing.

It’s “compelled speech”, a violation of free speech rights.

Gay man to baker: Can I buy that cake on the shelf?
Baker: No problem

Gay man to baker: Would you make a custom birthday cake?
Baker: No problem

Gay man to baker: Would you make a gay wedding cake?
Baker: No, I don’t wish to participate in such an event

It isn’t discrimination against a gay person or specific person, it is an unwillingness to participate in creating something for a specific event.

It is the same as if a black man, whom is a printer, is asked to print flyers for an upcoming KKK rally. You have every right to say “no”. Another might be asking a Jewish baker to make a cake with a swastika on it, you could create an endless list.

Why is this so hard?

This isn’t religious vs gay rights. It is simply violating free speech codes, which in this case, is about free speech for a religious person to not be forced into a contract to make something for an event they disagree with.
