Wednesday on Bloomberg TVs With All Due Respect, host Mark Halperin and John Heilemann asked Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump what his favorite Bible verse is.
Trump has said many times on the campaign trail the Bible is his favorite book.
Heilemann asked, You mentioned the Bible and talked about how it was your favorite book and you said, I think last night on in Iowa, some people are surprised you say that. I am wondering what one or two of your most favorite Bible verses are and why?
Trump answered, I wouldnt want to get into it because to me thats very personal. You know when I talk about the Bible its very personal.I dont want to get into it.
Heilemann asked, There no verse that means a lot to you that you think about about or cite?

In the beginning there was ...well....TRUMP!
PING!
Sharing Pearls with Swine would have come to my mind.
Any candidate who does not question the motive of a reporer who asks such things is missing a great opportunity.
Your own...personal...Jesus....
At least they knew enough to ask him about the Bible. They should have asked Obama what his favorite passage was from the Koran.
I remember Freepers hated how Bill Clinton pretended to be the most religious person and carried his Bible around. Now you jumped to his side?
Trump could just say he's not that religious. He doesn't have to pretend to be religious, like the politician people claim he isn't.
Smart. The question was actually “please give us a verse to use against you and to hold you to absolute perfection on”.
And he brushed em off like a gnat.
Also yesterday’s Dubuque News Conference:
At the 17:20 mark
Reporter: You say the Bible is one of your favorite books next to The Art of the Deal. Is there any figure or story in the Bible that you can relate to or compare your life to?
Trump: No. That’s a great question. I love the Bible. I love Evangelicals. I went to Sunday School. I go to Church. I’m Protestant. I’m a Proud Presbyterian. Look at the polls, Evangelicals love me. (No answer of anything related to the Bible, God, or Christ).

It’s the correct answer, but he probably couldn’t cite a verse if he wanted to.
They aren't interested in which Bible verses Trump has committed to memory, which btw a whole lot of us don't have a “ favorite” verse memorized ... I say it's time to stop playing their stupid gotcha games. Not every question needs or even deserves an answer and kudos to the candidates who tell them so.
Get back to me when, Bush, Walker, Cruz, Fiorina, Huck, Carson, Pataki, Rubio etc cough up their favorite passage from the bible. Now Huck would prolly do it.
I would rather him recite something from the Constitution too. The fact is he was the one claiming he’s Mr. Religious and the Bible is his favorite book. I didn’t force him to do that. Why are people blaming everyone else for something Trump did. It’s Obama supporters all over again.
It's not about who can quote the Bible. it's about politicians make transparently false claims.
I know the Bible better than most but not as well as some.
If someone just asked me offhand what was my favorite verse, I probably could only name a few. Some of the ones I like best still require me to look in a Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance.
For example, there is one in Isiah about “Wings of Eagles” which I have to look up every time I want to read it. I do know roughly where it is.
Of course it is obvious that I like Romans, the 8th chapter.
Im disappointed with Trumps response about to Holy Bible question. On the other hand, Trump possibly perceived that it was a gotcha question.
But lets hear the responses of the other candidates to that question before we demonize Trump.
